Who is Costas Panagopoulos?

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 7, 2007 12:07 PM

Who is Costas Panagopoulos? The MSM keeps quoting him as a disinterested political observer of the presidential campaign season who works as a political science professor at Fordham University.

Newsbusters tells you the rest of the story.

And yes, Hillary Clinton’s involved again.

Mark Costas Panagopoulos down as an analyst seriously not to be trusted.

I spliced together two lines from Mr. Panagopolous’ autobiography, found within the Newsbuster’s article:

…a Congressional Fellow during 2004-2005, he served in the office of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY)…(then, he)was part of the Decision Desk team at NBC News during the 2006 election cycle.

If this chronology is as accurate as Panagopolous’ autobiography seems to indicate, then NBC News policy appears to include, hiring Hillary Clinton employees to represent their “Decision Desk” team during election cycles when Hillary is up for reelection.

The irritating part is, the MSM will probably not have a problem with him being cited as a “disinterested political observer”, even with the HRC link uncovered. I’m sure they can create a justifiable reason as to why he should not be seen as biased. Geez!

At the end of the day, it is very difficult to change voters’ pre-existing beliefs, and it would probably take a much more powerful speech than the one Romney delivered today.”

But she gets away with it because the Lame Stream Media will always cover for her. It becomes more clear that directly or indirectly, many are on her payroll.

That is a difficult thing to overcome for anyone on the right. The “R’s” will only get a fair shake on Fox, talk radio, or blogs like this one. No matter what we say or do, there is a huge segment of the population that gets their information from totally liberal dominated sources. Sad but true.

Oh for goodness sake. You all are looking for things to complaign about. We all know because the MSM tells us so that only moderate left leaning progressive liberals can be fair and balanced with thier thinking and analysis.

Since the political spectrum has been reinvented. The left has become moderate and the far left has moved to almost moderate. Therefore any one who is conservative or right leaning is a radical don’t cha know.

2007/08 democratic strategy …. plant questioners and infiltrate all political analysis with left wingers and therefore paint anyone else as a right wing war mongering radical who supports imperialsm.

Politics what a wonderful game. (totally sarcastic)

Here is an “impartial” quote from June 7, 2007 of this year from the NYT:

“The document is the second confidential Clinton campaign file to leak in the last two weeks; the first, which was also provided to The New York Times, was a memorandum by the deputy campaign manager recommending that Mrs. Clinton skip the Iowa caucuses in 2008. Costas Panagopoulos, a political science professor at Fordham University who studies fund-raising, said the Clinton operation was so strategic that it probably leaked the data to influence fund-raising expectations. Recalling that some Clinton donors were surprised by Mr. Obama’s strong first quarter, Mr. Panagopoulos said he believed the campaign would want to have a record-breaking second quarter, as Mr. Wolfson signaled.

“It looks like they’re kicking it up a notch, and I’m sure their initial pie-in-the-sky fund-raising number has been augmented,” Mr. Panagopoulos said.”

And here’s another “impartial” quote from an April 5, 2007 article about fundraising.

”This reflects on the part of Democrats not only their view of the prospects of victory in 2008, but also how they are coming off this rush of the 2006 elections,” said Costas Panagopoulos, a political science professor at Fordham University. ”In terms of Republican candidates, voters are feeling like they have to choose from a list of who represents the least of all evils.”

…the least of all evils. Nah, that’s not impartial. Just completely negative, that’s all.

Here’s the link to the article:
