My friends at Move America Forward are currently on a cross-country trip, holding pro-troop events in 40 cities across America to honor and salute the men and women of the U.S. military who will be thousands of miles away from their homes and families during this holiday season. They’re collecting more than 100,000 Christmas, Hanukkah and holiday greeting cards for the troops that they’ll be delivering personally in Iraq and Afghanistan. Freedom’s Watch, Gathering of Eagles, and Eagles Up are also partners in the tour. Here’s a dispatch from Alabama. The bus tour photo above was taken in Lubbock, Texas. Check out the itinerary to see if they’ll be in your area. Their final stops:

Event Location: Lincoln Theater

I hope they go to 30 Rock in NY and camp out in front of NBC. NBC didn’t want to air the commercial thanking the troops ya’ know. Shameful on NBC’s part.

I’ve drafted and erased several comments, all of which come back to saying “Thank you” to this group. I appreciate your efforts to make those of us serving feel better about the nation we serve.

Take it from somebody who traveled with this fine group of people from Wichita KS on 9/9 to Washington DC on 9/15 — The “Fight for Victory Tour”.

This is the best group you could ever travel with. Attend one of their events, and then fall in behind their beautiful Red Bus, and travel with them for a while. You will thank me for encouraging you.

Thank You Michelle for promoting MoveAmericaForward.org on your website.

The more organizations such as this can get exposure that shows the troops there is still support for them back home the better …

I agree with going to 30 Rock. Great idea, or perhaps just issue an invite to those NBC execs. Oh yea, that’s right, Zucker is pretty busy these days slashing heads because NBC is not very profitable these days.

By the way, if anyone would like to opine directly to GE - here’s the GE general comments website:

It never hurts, and in my corporate experience this stuff does get read, and reported upon.

Armylifer: Thank you very much for your service. And everyone else serving as well. I say that and it never feels like enough.
I checked out the link at MAF yesterday hoping to see MA on there. But knowing it wouldn’t be, understandably. There are a lot of us who are supportive here. I’m fortunate enough to live in a part of Boston that isn’t whacked out like most of the state, if you can believe that. Or maybe it’s my circle of friends and family. Anyway, that off my chest, hoping that I can make NY next weekend. I would like to be there for this.

This is a great thing to be doing for the troops and their families. You can always count on that here in this little corner of the internets. Thanks to all who are serving us all over the world, and thanks to Melanie Morgan for taking the lead like she has. She is a right-wing talker in San Fransicko, must be a tough job! Does that count for combat pay?

I would love to ride through these blue cities in that big red, white and blue bus! The looks must be priceless from the AlGoracle types! What’s the carbon footprint on that baby?

With so many people who “support” our troops, you would think this would be all over the news. Why is it that good news only comes out in small corners of the blogosphere?

I wish these people well and that I could be there to join them. Thanks to all of you who make this not only a possibility but a reality.

WarTip, you know very well why. The ‘mainstream’ media is that ‘enemy…domestic’ the oath of enlistment/commission/public office refers to. Be disgusted, but don’t be surprised.

I think it’s great that they’re out there doing something nice for everyone serving away from their families, but those Hanukkah cards are going to be pretty late getting to the troops, seeing as it ends on Wednesday night.
It’ll be like getting your Christmas cards on Groundhog’s Day… I guess it’s nice that someone was thinking about you two months ago, but what good does it do me now?
