Hurricane Cynthia tries to pick up speed
Move over, Oprah. Cynthia McKinney is on the presidential campaign trail–and only she can speak for black people. Everyone else is a CIA plant. Eric Dondero at Front Page Magazine covers Hurricane Cynthia:
“The time for confrontation has come for me,” Cynthia McKinney told about 60 supporters on December 4. Launching her quest for the Green Party Presidential nomination, McKinney compared her “revolution” to Haiti, Venezuela, and war-torn Cote d’Ivoire.
“Cynthia,” as she prefers to be called, spoke to a crowd of about 60 gathered at the Paige Library Building on the Campus of Texas Southern University, a primarily African-American college in Houston.
Arriving 10 minutes after the 7 p.m. scheduled start time, McKinney sashayed through the crowd smartly dressed in a colorful pants suit and scarf. Personally greeting each attendee, she handed out pastel flyers emblazoned with the words, “Leading a Peace Slate to Reclaim our Nation.” She looked each potential supporter in the eye, with a big smile, and said, “I really need your support.”
McKinney has taken this message on the road through several states, explaining Green Party members had always supported her candidacy, and she had always shared the party’s philosophy. “They [the Green Party] first asked me in 2000 and again in 2004 to become a part of their national drive,” McKinney told an audience in Illinois recently. “With the Democratic Party having left so many of its base supporters behind, the appeal of the Green Party was one that I could hear.”
She brought a similar message to Houston on December 4th. After two brief (and dynamic) left-wing artists – a poet and a gospel singer – Cynthia took the stage. Her speech was short: 20 minutes tops, and rhythmic – no stuttering; she didn’t miss a beat.
Announcing her campaign to reach all “51 States including the District of Columbia” explained: “I’ve belatedly become a member of the Green Party…No other platform speaks to the African American community as acutely as the Green Party platform.”
Asked about Barack Obama, McKinney echoed a theme from a controversial 2002 Black Congressional Caucus speech. She said, “Look at the Colin Powells, the Condeleeza Rices, the Ward Connerlys…We have to be careful with the black people who are put before us by the media.” She went on to speak of “COINTELPRO,” which she described as a 1960s-era covert plan launched by the CIA to replace Dr. Martin Luther King with a more moderate voice. Apparently, in McKinney’s mind 40 years later, Barack Obama is the CIA’s replacement.

Not so fast! this is the season for sharing, and we’ve most magnanimously decided to share her with the rest of the country. Remember, this is the home of “Governor Moonbeam” and HRH Madame Speaker. If we can share them, why can’t we share Cynthia?
The possibilities for humor are almost endless. No wonder they are forecasting record hurricane seasons every year. Here I thought they were referring to natural phenomenon and not just the “environmentalists”.

always found them to be just one big animated fruitbasket, and I agree that if she
takes votes from the dems, so be it.
Since France actually has leadership now, I prefer to think of myself as a cou rouge
instead of as a red neck. I come from a long proud line of ‘em, myself.
The poor woman is definitely a few frys short of a happy meal.

Let’s see. Texas Southern University is listed as having 12,000 faculty, support staff and students (graduate and undergraduate). Sixty (60) folks showed up to hear Cynthia spew nonsense. That’s about ½ of 1% of those presumably within walking distance of her little pow-wow.
Yeah…that’s about right. You have to figure that about ½ or 1% of our population is full tilt nutz.
I don’t think anyone can be blacker than the Clintons. I’ll just bet Cynthia doesn’t
resort to some sort of stupid dialect when she’s speaking to black audiences like
HRC has been known to do.

She’ll get some of HRC’s votes and some of Obama’s, though how they could say
they were their votes before they have been cast is a puzzle.

Cynthia, along with Jesse believe that the District of Colombia is the 51st state. They look upon it as an African American state. Jesse Jackson was even once elected “shadow Senator” of DC.
The Dem’s would love to see DC as a state. It would give them two more senators and another automatic seat in the house. I would be willing to bet that if this sorry state of affairs ever came to pass, Cynthia and Jesse and Al would fall all over themselves establishing legal residency in the new state.
I want to laugh, but after the last few weeks, this more makes me want to cry. What has happened to the great nation in which I was raised.

Wow, a wole .5% of the population of the campus shows up to hear you speak. You gotta figure a certain number of those people showed up just out of morbid curiosity. So I wonder just how many were honest to God supporters.
I also wonder what the air is like on her planet. It is obviously quite dense, for when she got here she seems to be suffering from hypoxia where it seems to be affecting her mental abilities quite drastically, causing her to hallucinate and have delusions of grandeur where she actually thinks she is important and people like and respect her.

Wonder what color the sun is in her universe? When did we stop having serious
people running for president? It seems that somewhere along the way the goof
balls are coming out in droves to run, and even worse, there are people who take
their candidacy seriously. When I look at the majority of the lineup on both sides
of the fence, and under the fence and behind the outhouse, I just want to hide in
the closet until after Nov 2008.
Fifty-nine of the “supporters” showed up as an extra credit assignment for PolSci 101. Now they are all back in the dorm rooms googling COINTELPRO.
Yeah, it is starting to look a bit like a California Recall Election. I just want to know when the Porn Star is going to run. That might actually liven up the debates a bit.

What Moron McKinney seems to have forgetten is that MLK’s father was a republican! He wouldn’t have stood for any of this silliness from these so-called “leaders of the black community.” The real leaders are people like Ward Connerly, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams. They understand that what EVERY community needs is opportunity, not race-baiting, class warfare and gov’t handouts.
About the best you can say is that even if she succeeds in taking away only one vote from the democrats in ‘08, it will be a good thing.
Does she have ANY interest in the environment, or is this going to be about race?
