Please Alphonse. Don't tell us you are a tall ship. The secret is as much cotton as you can find to wear and stay away from pointy toe high heels. They are not good
for your feet and give your face an expression very close to Pelosi's.

I know just how Danielle feels. When I cross dress in my girdle, pantyhose, and bra, it seems like I just can't get comfortable. The worst are those fashionable high heels with the long pointy toes.

California Burka
I love the USA

California Burka would be a fine brand name. To go with the men's line the Big Mo' "Speedo".

PS - I checked the link and that Burka thing worked - I only saw her beautiful eyes...

My brother and his wife seemed to be about to be sent to Iran just before the Iran
hostage situation. I remember a Persian (someone who left Iran before it became
known as Iran) telling him what they (he and his family) should be prepared to do
or not to do. One of the things was to guard their little boys. It's the first time that
I remember someone saying this but not the last, "Boys are for pleasure, females
are for procreation." I know that Islam claims to be against homosexuality but there
are still killings over the favors of a sugar boy over there. I also heard some very
pointed language about what Iranian men see when they look at women in slacks
or jeans ( by that I mean, what they think they see) and that you do not wear slacks, shorts, sleeveless tops, short skirts, etc. Now, I am not saying that every
Muslim man in bisexual and I'm not saying that every Muslim man cannot
control himself when he sees a woman that is not dressed in a burkha, but it
is one of the reasons why women are all covered up. I have Muslim friends that
say that when they go home to visit family, they feel much safer covered up while they are there. These are very Americanized women.

One can only imagine the hysteria coming from the MSM, the feminazi’s and EVERY liberal group in America if the Catholic church required women to start wearing a death shroud(burka).

Malkin_Fan: You are right, but...they (feminists) took a firm stand against the mantilla (the veil the Catholic church once required women to wear, and which some women still wear, to Mass) as being a sign and symbol of the "oppressive" patriarchy of the church way back in 1968:

Because the wearing of a head covering by women at religious services is a symbol of subjection within many churches, NOW recommends that all chapters undertake an effort to have all women participate in a 'national unveiling' by sending their head coverings to the task force chairman. At the Spring meeting
of the task force of women and religion, these veils will be publicly burned to protest the second class status of women in all churches. (Dec. 1968)

Keep in mind that chapel veils are usually made of lace or a similar light material, can be as small as a doily with some perhaps going to the shoulder.

I own two of them. They are put on before a woman enters the church, and can be taken off when she leaves.

While modest dress is a Church teaching, women I know can wear short sleeves, skirts that show ankle or pants, tank tops in the summer, and swimsuits. You can see their faces and bodies because - gasp! - Christianity teaches men are responsible for keeping their thoughts and behaviors in check, and it's not a woman's fault if she is raped (unlike Islamic teaching) or otherwise injured.

The Church teaches that women and men are equal, but different, each with their own innate strengths and abilities that compliment the other's (think a yin-yang symbol, if you will, to get my drift). The relationship between men and women is symbolized in the relationship of Christ and the Church - loving, caring, and devoted.

Doesn't that sound vastly different from the relationship between men and women in Islam? Where women are possessions rather than people, who can be traded, abused, and killed at the drop of a hat?

It does to me.

So I can totally see how a chapel veil is equally as oppressive as this.

Which shows when people believe so strongly in moral relativism, it's impossible to discern TRUE right and wrong.

Wondering what a guy wears under the kilt ladies, check out SportKilt.com and they have a good set of links dealing with the wearing of the tartan.

Of course, depending on who is asking me what I wear under my kilt (yes, I own one and wear it at least once/twice a week) gets one of several colorful answers. :P

GSP
BTW-I am of Irish descent.

It is self-evident that the left and islam are very close in women's rights.

Still no outrage from the feminist NGOs.

At one point Ms Crittenden stated that everyone was so tolerant and accepting of her burkha. I wonder how tolerant they would be if it was white with a tall pointy hat? I guess context is everything. When I see a burkha, I am more likely to react with pity for the poor woman condemned to second class citizenship by a bunch of primitive religous mysogynists. Someone in a white robe and pointy hat says something else entirely to me.

TXRose said: The reason women are required to dress this way is because Muslim men cannot
seem to stop having “impure thoughts” about them when they are in street clothes.

I believe in actuality it is not because they have impure thoughts about their women, it's that they are too insecure with their own sexuality to allow other men to have thoughts (impure or just admiration) about their women.

Just as they are insecure about their religion, when one criticizes islam the first response is violence.

You see the same thing when you make fun of children, being children they don't know how to respond intelligently, so they scream and hit.
