BDS-infected conspiracy letter of the day

Via the San Francisco Chronicle (where else?) comes this nutty apologia for left-wing talk show host Bernie Ward, who was nailed in a child porn bust last week (hat tip: reader Daniel):

Editor – Perhaps if Bernie Ward had been less critical of the Bush/Cheney administration, he might not have been charged with a 3-year-old technical violation concerning child pornography. Not only was Bernie critical of the Bushes, he was very articulate and factual in his criticisms, which probably made him even more dangerous to Bush and his minions.

This smacks of a Bush/Cheney “subtle warning,” not just to Bernie, but to any popular figure who might want to criticize the Bush administration, such as former Ambassador Joseph Wilson. WILLIAM T. DRAKE Vacaville

Brian Maloney, who broke the story last week, follows up with a closer look at liberal paranoia and asks: “Could there be any clearer indication that the “progressive” left have officially lost their minds?”

However due to the period of time and successful conviction of this guy, I am going out on a limb to say it didn’t have anything to do with the type of operating system.

The one technical issue I have to ask is what is the operating system of his computer? If it was Window NT, then its up to the IT department to show that this guy is the only one to have had access to his computer system.

My concern is that I have seen military personnel unfairly targeted for porn accusations when non certified IT personnel made the accusations and these folks had to face the risk of losing their careers. The windows NT system had a flaw that the IT departments can’t tell who surfed what since all the cookies are saved in the computer, would randomly place themselves under whomever logged into the computer, and the computers are rotated or moved to offices where needed.

It’s just like back in February when Charles Rust-Tierney, the former head (93-05) of the Virginia ACLU (and he only resigned from the board when he was arrested), was found with hundreds of pictures and videos of children being raped. Most of the MSM ignored it as long as they could The guy helped weaken the kiddie porn laws in my state and then gets busted with the stuff. He used library computers and downloaded it onto CDs.

Blip on the radar. MSM reported it and moved on. I guess when you think it’s ok to butcher the unborn you don’t see a real problem with videos of child rape.

    O’Reilly

On Dec. 1, 1998, Tierney issued this statement: “Recognizing that individuals will continue to behave responsibly and appropriately while in the library, the default should be maximum, unrestricted access to the valuable resources of the Internet.”
And included among those “resources” is child porn. The ACLU in Virginia successfully blocked any filtering of objectionable material in Loudon County libraries.

The only major liberal news organization to cover the story was The Washington Post. It ran a small mention of it in the second section of the paper, essentially burying the situation. The New York Times ignored the story entirely. So did NBC News, CBS News and CNN. ABC News mentioned it on its website.

It was just last week that an aide to Democtrat Senator Maria Cantwell got busted by the FBI for trying to have sex with a minor.

The FBI arrested Sen. Maria Cantwell’s staffer Mike McHaney Friday after he arranged to meet and have sex with underage boy. According to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., brought to our attention by The Smoking Gun, McHaney was online Friday afternoon when a witness working with investigators asked if McHaney was interested in engaging in anal sex with a 13-year-old boy. “I’ll be there,” McHaney responded. McHaney was later arrested at a predetermined location where he had arranged to meet the witness. Until his arrest Friday, McHaney had worked for Democratic Senator Maria Cantwell. As of Monday night, calls to Sen. Cantwell were not returned. Court documents after the jump. Senate Aide In Kiddie Sex Bust [TSG]

I was stuck behind a desk when there 1993-1998 mostly working a small detachment working the INF and START treaty with the Russians.
