Unhinged: Nancy Pelosi channels Pete Stark
The NRCC blows the whistle on San Fran Nan’s latest unhinged remarks:
Pelosi Comes Unhinged, Spews Pete Stark-like Vitriol: Republicans “Like this War”
Washington– With plummeting approval ratings and no legislative accomplishments to point to, Nancy Pelosi is melting down in the final days of the first session of the 110th Congress. Military success on the ground in Iraq also seems to be agitating the San Francisco Speaker who appears to be despondent over the fact that General Petraeus’ surge is working.
In a press conference today, Pelosi’s frustration manifested itself:
“The grassroots are justifiably disappointed, and I am too, that we could not do something to end this war. The assumption that I made, that the Republicans would soon see the light and listen to their constituents, was not an accurate one.”
“They like this war. They want this war to continue…” (Press Conference, 12/13/07)
Pelosi’s desperation continues to grow as the clock appears to be running out on the Democrats. Their failure to address the nation’s problems like rising prices, the seemingly inevitable return of the alternative minimum tax, and their gross abdication of their responsibility to our troops in the field have left the Americans restless and angry at their incompetence.
Will Nancy Pelosi apologize before the House for her Pete Stark-like remarks? The American people and America’s men and women in uniform are waiting.
More from The Hill:
On Iraq in particular, Pelosi acknowledged at her Thursday news conference she’d misjudged the resolve of Republicans.
“They like this war,” she said. “They want this war to continue. That was a revelation to me. I had thought they would listen to their constituents and change their position.”
Pelosi later qualified her remark that Republicans “like” the war to say they like Bush’s strategy.

Oh. A joke. She was telling a joke. Righhhhht.
They really, really like it!
Last time I checked upwards of 80% of the people in uniform, those putting their lives on the line for all of us, vote Republican. I seriously doubt that those Republicans like war, but I have no doubt that they love their country.
Pelosi is just a wonderful example of why we need term limits for representatives, senators and the dictatorial judiciary.
Term Limits: Spot On
Amen
My final CO from the Marine Corps told us in a squadron meeting:
Take note, Nanny Pelosi. We are doing it so you won’t suffer the wrath of Osama ever again. You’re welcome. Ingrate!
Well, I like the way the war has been fought lately…and I do want the current trend to continue…so she’s not totally wrong.
translation: I thought they would finally lose their will and become America-haters and surrender monkeys like myself and my liberal nut-root constitutents.
She would be my bestest friend forever if she would just keep her trap shut and fund the troops. That’s really all I want from her.
Nobody “likes” this war. The troops aren’t on vacation.
However, what they don’t seem to understand is that if we don’t win this war, the America that they want to run with every fiber of their being would be overrun and then she can sit their with that stupid look on her face and say “That was a revelation to me.”
Surprise!
It’s not so much that we like this war, but we really like pissing off democrats. Proving lieral wrong…priceless.
The Republicans did listen to their constituents. Their contituents told them that they did not want them to surrender to the enemy. They told them that they wanted them to fund the troops and not to abandon them. They told them that the election was about corruption and that Iraq was item number 6 on the list of items that the election was about and to not listen to what the Liberals and the media was attempting to tell America it was about. The Republicans were actually the ones that were listening to the majority of their constituents and not some special interest group run from a web site funded by a wealthy Liberal with a really strong and bad accent bent on destroying this country and turning it into a Socialist hell that would ultimately take away his wealth that he is too stupid to realize.
It is Nancy Pelosi herself who has failed in her job, has failed her constituents and failed this country. She is the absolute worst speaker this country has ever had and will go down in history as such, and not only as the worst but as the largest embarassment and will make it so much more difficult for the next female speaker. She was the first female speaker of the House, and has done such irreparable damage that it may be years before the job will be entrusted to a woman again. What a shame, for there were so many other far more qualified women for the job. Of course, it just shouldn’t have ever gone to a liberal. Should never again be placed in the hands of a Liberal, especially during war time.
Proving liberals wrong.. priceless
Dern TexasTiger - beat me to it!
what he said
Must respectfully disagree with you. Term limits would only give us the same stupidity in a different skull.
More effective than term limits would be congressional redistricting practices that reduce the number of safe, gerrymandered seats in the House. Voters in the current 8th District will never hold Pelosi accountable for her lunacy.
Let’s not forget the repeal of Amendment 17. We as a nation should give the power of appointing senators back to the state legislatures. But only when the states re-draw their congressional maps properly.
Gerrymandering is wrong, no matter who comes out on top!
lol. seriously, it can’t get better. they’re losing their minds.
“don’t they get it?! we’re trying to help them!! the reps won’t let us help the people!! they like war! they like people dying!! we want to save people!! why don’t they understand?!”
meanwhile, some dem strategist is sitting around trying to figure out how to ’sell’ up this failure.
maybe 2006 had a reason after all.
Must’ve been a Botox moment.
Texas Tiger: My only point is that redistricting is not enough. We need a real guarantee that moves these professional politicians, too many of which are lawyers, back out into the public sector where they have to live with the laws they create.
I can remember the “great” Eugene McCarthy complaining about the very laws he created that basically ruined his family’s business and sent him to bankruptcy court. I want Madam Pelosi to have to live in San Fran and live under the laws she uses to experiment with all our lives.
Unhinged: Nancy Pelosi channels
Pete Starkthe Judean People’s Front crack suicide squadVe are the Judean People’s Front crack suicide squad. Suicide squad! Attack! (stab selves)

it is a revelation to her that Americans want to win this war? has she been reading the emails, letters and faxes from the constituents to know what the Republicans are being asked? i think not.
republicans were angry over the drunken sailor type spending that was going on in the republican controlled congress. the only way to stop it was to allow the dems to take control and fail. dems have never figured out how to be the ‘minority’ as they have always been in the majority (excluding last 12 years).
sure glad we do have some experienced republicans in congress to make these dimly lit dems look like bigger crapweasels.
Two terms, one in office. . . one in prison.
A friend of mine in the Arkansas National Guard (She’s an MP) just got back from the abyss of Ft Chaffe for some up-training…
She’ll be headed to The Sandbox soon, and she’s thankful because of some physical issues she’s had (shoulder injury during training a while back).
Some whack-job on her LJ page made the following comment:
My response was:
These people really are totally f***ing insane…
Maybe an open season on lawyers? Or would you need a special tag? Maybe catch-and-release them back into their native habitat? Or would their native habitat even WANT them? We have the highest percentage of lawyers per capita than anywhere else in the world. Maybe we could share them with underdeveloped countries?
It won’t matter/affect her at all. She’s a multi-multi millionaire. She has the resources that most of us regular Kalifornians can’t even imagine.
Just another example of a liberal lashing out at her political opposition in a nasty way. Oh..I forgot…Republicans are the mean spirited ones.
The left always has to be vicious while Republicans almost always try to be respectful in their tone.
Can a Dem ever be civil and not get personal/nasty? (Don’t answer that question.) When you can’t win on merit, sling mud.
TexasTiger is absolutely right about the need for redistricting in California!
Most people don’t realize that not only does Nancy Pelosi represent the most liberal city in the country, but because of careful gerrymandering NANCY PELOSI REPRESENTS THE MOST LIBERAL PORTION OF SAN FRANCISCO!!!
Take a look at this map to see how Nancy Pelosi’s district excludes as many of the more conservative homeowners in San Francisco as possible.
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/findyourreps.xpd?state=CA&district=8
She’s crazier than an outhouse owl!
I think you meant to say …rising oil prices…
I could be wrong though. My wife can tell you about that.
“The grassroots are justifiably disappointed, and I am too, that we could not do something to end this war.
Grass roots my behind. More like whacky tobaccey
Michelle mentioned the alternative minimum tax. Where can I get more eductated on this? This is one where I’m not up to speed.
Equitable redistricting might have the same effect as term limits. If seats changed more frequently owing to balanced districts, term lengths would drop.
I can think of one thing better than Pelosi living under the laws she pushes: living with Code Pink on her front lawn! Bwah-hah-hah-hah!
I watched that on Cspan on the lead up to the dem press conference.
A simply pathetic performance of trying to justify failure as a good way to act by proposing pie in the sky instead of spending time working on thoughtful legislation and wasting so much time you have to shove 11 or more finance bills into a week just to get things done
I think she confuses running for office and lying to your crowd with being in office and trying to accomplish something.
The U.S. Military … doing the jobs Liberal Democrats won’t do …
Pelosi is becoming less relevent through her comments every day.
She and Harry Reid need to look at the approval rating for Congress, an all time low. They are only fooling themselves, most Americans are not fooled.
Look for a change in 2008.
#28:
Start with a quick overview of recent poor Dem attempts to fix AMT:
http://www.opinionjournal.com/editorial/feature.html?id=110010970
and here are some thoughts from Cato:
http://www.cato-at-liberty.org/2007/06/25/an-almost-ideal-plan-to-fix-the-amt/
I am a republican, I am a constituent, I vote, and while the republican party has been tone deaf on some issues, they ARE listening to me about Iraq.
(Grabbing a bullhorn to remind them)
WIN…THE…D@MN…THING!
Just win. break the enemy in half, and then into further little pieces.
The Pelosiraptor can now go back to her regularly scheduled breakdowns.
Respectfully,
eric

Bigurn, I’m not much of an expert on it, either, but what I know is that it started out as a tax on the wealthy, and gradually worked its way down to middle-class folks like you and me. The idea is simple: if you make a certain amount, and you can deduct enough, you won’t have to pay a lot of tax. The way they get you is - you pay whichever is more - the tax as figured by your accountant/tax preparer, or the AMT. In other words, if you play the game honestly, we’re gonna get you anyhow, sucka!
I had to fix that quote for San Fran Nan.
BTW-she’s scary looking!
Let the Congressional record show the 110th Democrat lead Congress was an abject failure thanks for the leadership of this woman and her San Francisco values and her buddy “Dirty Harry.” They have more than earned their 11% approval rating the worst in Congressional History.
Their failure to pass funding for those in the combat zone will quickly start to affect those of us in Garrison. The Army is talking about laying off 100,000 plus souls (Civil Service and Contractors) still no word on what the Air Force will do at this time, but expect them to do what is right to fund the troops in the field. Once the layoffs hit it will not be long before they may see crowds with torches and pitchforks on Capital Mall. I really despise how the liberals continue to play chicken with lives of our fighting men and women.
Drudge was linking to an AP article, that includesthis:
Just have to point out how the media continues to let them get away with this crap… “New direction”? WTF do you think the surge is, Speaker Botox? We took that “new direction” with astoundingly positive results (so far). And I’m not one who likes to hype the positive results, because I’d hate to let our guard down and have the enemy rush back in with more desperate attacks, like they’ve done when they’ve been losing badly in the past. But how can this worthless woman continue whining about a “new direction”? Disgusting.
She doesn’t know what winning mean in a war that is why she and the rest of her nutroots are against this war when they can plainly see that it is working
I just think it is hillarious that she is attempting to place the blame for this failed Congress and Senate on the Republicans. When they blamed the Republicans for failure when the Republicans were in power, that was deserved, tey screwed up. The Republicans never really acted like they were in charge and were in the majority. They kept acting like they had to kiss the Democrats butts, and the Dems kept acting like they ran the place for 12 years.
Well Nanci, the place is yours, lock, stock and barrell. Everything that has happened for the last year has rested entirely on Democrat shoulders. You cannot, in any way, blame these record low approval rating numbers that you and Harry Reid have most deceidedly earned with every word and deed on a single Republican.
It has indeed been you most decidedly anti-American, anti-Military, defeatist, seditious metality and actions that have earned these numbers for you. It has been the repeated way in which you have sought to leave our military hanging with their butts in the wind to be shot off by our enemies, with their only option being to surrender to our enemies in the face of victory, an option that the people of this country historically have never and will never agree to that has helped to put the nails into the coffin of your legacy…I’m sorry, your “leg-she”.
It has also been you much publicised and well known alliance with an anti-American special interest grooup that serves no purpose but their own known to eeryone as Moveon.oorg that finised the deal. Your Overlords and Masters have continually gone on record to make you look like the puppets you are, showing the country that you are not there to do the people’s business, but that of the highest bidder.
While I cannot say for certain whether or not the country has forgiven the GOP enough to make them become the party to run the Congress again next year, the numbers you have in addition to your failure to accept blame and where you are placing said blame might not make their forgiveness of the GOP necessary for them to realize that they can not afford the likes of your foolishness and sedition in the halls of our government another day.
This from the third most powerful person in the world. I am amazed that she even considers herself American. We could just as easily say, ‘It is a revelation to us that the Speaker of the House of Representatives listens to the enemies of America over her constituents. It is a revelation to us that she wants our troops to lose so much that she sabotages our chances to win from her position of authority.’
I think she’s perfect and I think she’s done a perfect job.
Some predicted that they’d be themselves when they won the majority, but that was too optimistic for me. I couldn’t have imagined how much like themselves they would actually be.
Can’t she see that the “new direction” in Iraq was a winning strategy?
Unless the Dems get this, they will free fall in popularity.
No congress so far has been more inept!
This is why I have hope for the Republican party in 2008!
I knew this would happen. I knew in 2006 that the Democrats would fail to back up the empty promises used to get the majority. They were in the perfect position….fail and it’s Bush’s/Republican’s fault, succeed and they take the credit.
No personal responsibility or accountability…..it’s the New America!
During my combat tour, I gave advice or made decisions that resulted in enemy soldiers dying. While I prayed for their souls and felt sorrow that someone had to die, I had no remorse because it was my duty. It doesn’t mean that I ever liked causing other men to die. No sane person likes war; but a truly insane person likes losing a war. Pelosi and Reed would rather lose the war than lose an election
Typical childish logic: You shouldn’t do anything you don’t like to do; therefore, since Republicans believe the war should be fought and won, they must like it.
Can I apply the same logic to paying taxes?
Good point.
There’s no gray for the opposition. To many of them, the war should be managed as a binary operation. One direction is “fight”, the other is “flee”. Anything short of “flee” is mocked as being more of the same and “not new”.
Well, that was a wasted “Congress”. I wonder what next year will show. A kindergarden class could do as well as this democratic Congress…fussing and fighting and accomplishing nothing. On second thought, my apologies, kids, you could do better.
I’m still holding my breath. What, exactly, was accomplished in those first 100 hours? Oh, wait, by their form of measurement, they’re still only on hour 37, right?
wren, great link.
you think your gerrymandering is bad? check out my district:
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/findyourreps.xpd?state=NJ&district=6
i was wondering how my rep was dem. it’s because my district is diluted with all of Edison. i don’t even know how this is legal.
Pelosi later qualified her remark that Republicans “like” the war to say they like Bush’s strategy.
She didn’t need to qualify her remarks. She meant them the way she uttered them. And here I thought only drunks spoke candidly once their inhibitions were lowered…I guess “drunk with power” fits into that category as well!
Just classin’ this joint up a little. And it suits her to a tee.
I personally think the arrogance and elitist attitude of the Dems will ultimately be their downfall.
Many Americans can be sold easily with talking points like “it’s for the children”. Mostly due to the fact they have their heads down trying to live their lives taking care of their families instead of thinking about what is going on in their local governments and Washington.
Even though the biased MSM is softening the arrogance, Americans are still able to see the Democrats for who they are, Anti-American Socialists that want to run every aspect of our lives from cradle to grave all paid for by taxpayers.
I would like to see us go to a system where only people who pay taxes/and or are homeowners get to vote
A despondent Nancy acting like a loon surrounded by water on three sides.
New Book Title:
Nancy states that she and the other socialist in this country are disappointed that congress couldn’t do anything to end the war. News flash Nancy, this war will never end. They (Islam the collective) declared war on us. And I don’t see them ending their war until they are dead. The marines can do that if you will just stay out of the way and let the grownups handle it. The people we are fighting are nuts. But if you don’t believe me check out what they do to their own children. I think we ought to kill them all just for that. If you don’t see that as evil, Nancy, then the only explanation is you agree with what they believe.
It was interesting to hear Pelosi admit the energy bill was #6 on her first 100 hours agenda.
My how time flies when you are having fun.
They are in a bad position.
The far left is screaming at them to fight or die and the blue dog new kids are telling them try it and your majority will be gone
The Iraq War: “They like me! They really, really like me!”
To: Bloghooligan
LOL! I completely agree that you win the contest for the most creative gerrymandering for your Congressional District! But I want bonus points for the most frightening Congressional District as the most liberal portion of San Francisco keeps re-electing Nancy Pelosi!
We should all be aware of how gerrymandering distorts democracy!
If folks want to check their own congressional districts for gerrymandering, here is the link:
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/findyourreps.xpd
As someone, in the Democrat party’s view, that is too stupid to write down my feelings about the Speaker’s statement, I’ll just ask a question; “Do you want America to lose in Iraq, Madame Speaker?”
What the libs don’t get is that we like to win! No surrender.
I swear, prior to taking the oath of office there should be a sanity test for these dunderheads! Most would probably not pass!
Savage said: “Liberalism is a mental disorder. Extreme liberalism is a mental disease!”
Amen!
Hopefully, somewhere a plan is being drawn up for a surge to return San Francisco to the Union.
The anti-war Dems are reliving the seventies. It ain’t working. Every bet they have made against the war has come back to bite them. 9-11 changed everything…this is a war to the death because the enemy insists on it. We are not quitters and we know we can win. The only way we can loose is if the Dems succeed in persuading the American people that it is in their best interest to loose and that is not an argument that can carry the day. Even the Hill runs away from an argument like that. Insanity doesn’t quite describe the Dems right now. I don’t have a good word for it.
It is astonishing to me that they actually believe their own rhettoric. There is what they say in private and what they say in public. Unfortunately, for these yahoos, I am entirely convinced that they are one in the same and they honestly believe their own crap.
They honestly believe that it is everyone else’s fault but theirs and they “could have got away with it too if it weren’t for those meddeling Repblicans”
After her Midol Molly moment she realized that it was the fall back statement(Bushes fault).Thats all they have and its worn out.RUSTY ! RUSTY ! You here BRO
The surge is working so well, we should follow it up with a sur-surge.
The people who ‘like’ war are the A**H***S who are able to politicize it for their own diabolical political gains. Yep, that puts Pelosi’s butt right smack in the middle of the situation. Partisan all the way, even when after that piece of lard Murtha says the new tack is working.
For victory, dial USA-ARMED-FORCES!
And to think she is so close in-line to be president! Barf!! God help us!!!
Master Chief, that’s known as a rhetorical question.
