Seriously though, what kind of socialist laments the dirth of locally produced luxury items that fat cat capitalist exploiters tend to enjoy? Is he seriously decrying the fact that Venezuela doesn’t engage in more production for profit rather than production for use?

Does he truly look forward to a time when Venezuela produces more worthless frippery and more fully embraces commodity fetishism? How would Venezuelan-produced Gucci-style shoes and Louis Vuitton-style apparel help create conditions more conducive to the emergence of proletarian class consciousness?
