Exclusive: Iowa GOP Rep. Steve King will endorse tomorrow morning
Iowa GOP Rep. Steve King will endorse a GOP presidential candidate tomorrow morning. He’s scheduled to give a short speech tomorrow morning at 9am CST in Des Moines naming his candidate and explaining his reasons.
The endorsement will carry far more weight with grass-roots GOP voters than that of an East Coast newspaper editorial board–or the editorial board of the Schoolmarm’s left-leaning Des Moines Register, for that matter. Rep. King has been a staunch proponent of strict immigration enforcement and is a kingmaker in Iowa GOP politics. His endorsement is highly anticipated.
Stay tuned.

Choose wisely Grasshopper.
Please don’t pick Huckleberry Hound.
After watching the video, I don’t think he is going to endorse Mike”Bush is a meanie” Huckabee. Nothing would surprise me at this point though.
Just say no to Huck and Paul.
That is all.
Is there a good choice? I’m thinkin’ Fred-head, but then…what say you folks?
OT — anybody heard from Burner? He’s my buddy.
Immigration and Iraq??????? win win
King for Pres
Michelle, Can we do a s.w.a.g. Poll here?
I sure hope it is not Huckleberry Hound either. He is the worst candidate I can imagine conservatives supporting: he encouraged a Mexican consulate in Little Rock; he is for “compassionate conservatism”(liberalism), he still is pro-illegal immigration; he believes in manmade global warming; he thinks America is a “bully” and American foreign policy causes others to dislike us; he is so left-wing on education that the NEA endorsed him. Huckleberry Hound is about as left-wing as any liberal, though he is pretending not to be, so he can get the nomination.
Who is still supporting this guy? If he gets the nomination, we are guaranteed a Democratic president.
ok, after listening to the july interview, lets go Thompson/King!!
Yeah, Thats the Ticket!
Gabe–He would be a Democrat president. There is no difference.
Exactly, but the left will vote democratic. That is why THE LEFT is pushing him so hard. The GOP will not support a liberal.
‘Huckleberry Teams up with Yogie to steal the american picnic basket’
That would be a booboo.
LOL I should have thought of that
thanks for the completion
If he is going to support the candidate with the best immigration credentials alone, he would have to go with Hunter or Tancredo.
to bad my football team couldnt accomplish that today.
Depending on who he endorses this could be what takes the wind out of Huckabee’s sails. King has a lot of sway over conservatives in Iowa, and I think a lot of Huck’s support is coming from his district.
I’ve heard it could be Romney, although I wouldn’t rule out Fred. While he most matches Tancredo, and Hunter is also strong on immigration I don’t think he will choose one of them since they just don’t have the support to win it. I do know he won’t endorse Rudy, and I find it hard to believe he would support Huck, as he has said he doubts that Huck has truly converted on immigration.
A strong endorsement of either Romney or Fred, and a good explanation of why he would support them over Huck could very well sink Huck’s support. I sure hope so.
After Mitt’s performance on “Get depressed” with Tim”I used to work for Mario’,but I’m fair” Russert. It would be a stretch for him to endorse Mitt.
bummer what team was that?
I sure hope so,,, no way in hell can he endorse huckleberry.
That was today right? I heard this before today. Whether he changes his mind because of that I can’t say. We’ll find out.
.
Go Mitt!
that’d be my guess.
YEAH !!!
.
( what is that anyway, aj? sealed with a goat?
- sweatin’ with al gore? nope, can’t be that one ’cause algore…it’s one word.
I for one will not vote for the Huckster under any circumstances. The CFR just endorsed him. What a surprise.
He would be worse than Jimmy Carter if he got elected. He would make the USA a Sanctuary Nation State based on what he did in Arkansas.
I cannot figure out why people will not vote their conscience and quit trying to game the elections.
For me that will be Tancredo or Hunter in 2008.
Giuliani,Romney, Huckabee and John McCain are all CFR candidates.
They all showed up at the Spanish Lanugage debate where the moderator, Jorge Ramos, is a Mexican Citizen and they pandered to Illegal Aliens like a bunch of used car salesmen.I thought it was illegal for foreigners to take part in our elections.
Is this the kind of President you are going to support? One that says one thing to Americans and another to Illegal Aliens on a Spanish Language Network?
Read the transcripts and read what these pandering scum bags said.
If this is not the election to vote for your conscience when is the right election?
I am with Steve King, Tancredo will get my vote and frankly, I think he could clean Hillary’s clock in a debate.
Too bad Fred is dead, at least the walking dead. He was the last great hope of Conservatives and he is running a losing campaign. He started late and lost any momentum he had. Either Hunter or Tancredo would be fine, but they are back of the packers. And Ron Paul is a LIBERALatarian and not a true Conservative.
if he EVEN endorses huckabee, i will give up on all republicans forever.
At times it does get depressing with all the candidates views on major issues. We just need a winner at this point. Rudy, Mitt, Fred, John, Tom, Duncan would all be infinitely better than a Billary, Barak or a “silky pony” presidency.
He’s been my guy all along too. It’s not just the illegal immigration issue (which does encompass nearly every single issue in front of us today) but this man has integrity, honesty, compassion and he has MORALS. He would vote for America FIRST. Period.
Look at his voting record. It seems pretty ’solid conservative’ to me.
He would listen to Americans and treat us like his boss, as we should be. He will not deceive anyone for votes and he will tell you what the truth is on issues, on anything he can, without harming security to the US.
He cares more about America and Americans than he does about just getting himself into office. He won’t lie for votes. ( I’m pretty sure he won’t pander to the hispanic voters, could be wrong, but I don’t think so)
Who else can say that?
.
Sadly the MSM, including HOTAIR on this one, dismissed Tancredo many months ago and HA joked about this man more than they spent time on who he is and where he stands elsewhere.
Scientific wild a$$ guess.
Seachickens
Dont count Fred or Trancedo out yet,its just the first quarter, even Miami won a game late in the race.
Yup, Tancredo… 1st choice.
But on the real side, Rudy… I know, I know… but he can beat Osama,(hillary & edwards are toast).
Gianni said:
My roots are in Iowa, and still have a lot of kin there, some of whom live in areas recently inundated with illegals. I strongly suspect it will be Fred.
Hopefully he will pick Thompson, Hunter, or Tancredo. All the others are not to be trusted with immigrations issues or most other conservative hot button issues either.
So, how does one get to be the “kingmaker of Iowa” (an imposing title if there ever was one)? I rather suspect the same way one becomes a kingmaker in Chicago: “Don’t make no waves, Don’t back no losers.”
Therefore, he will endorse either Romney or HuckaDuck.
He’s the kingmaker because he’s the only true conservative in the Iowa delegation to Washington. His district is one of the most conservative in the country, and by far the most conservative in Iowa. Being as consistent a conservative as there is out there, just check his record, I can’t see any way he can endorse Huckabee. He has already said he doesn’t trust Huckabee on immigration. I expect it to be either Mitt or Fred.
Dandapani, Fred is NOT dead. Come on! Wake up! Where have you been?
He may not be your candidate of choice, but he’s NOT out of the race. Mark my words!
But Fred is dead.
This much is true:
His campaign never flew –
It just went to bed.
That’s all that can be said.
So if I accede to your reasoning, and why not?, it will be Romney, so we are in agreement. In any event, if the kingmaker doesn’t trust the Incredible Huck on immigration, it doesn’t follow that he turned him down flat. Can we trust Mitt on immigration? I’m no kingmaker, but I suspect not.
Fred is “dead” because the MSM wants him to be. He *IS* campaigning – and it he is right where he needs to be on EVERY issue. But he doesn’t get coverage because the Deciders have decided that he is an actual threat. That is why the Huckster is getting all of the media attention.
Dream Ticket: Thompson/Hunter!
I’ve been hearing Fred mentioned a lot more since his smackdown of the schoolmarm. That one brilliant display of backbone and leadership has caused many people to take another look at him. Whether he can sustain this boost in his popularity remains to be seen, but I wouldn’t count him out yet.
I am hoping he goes with the FRED, please pretty please.
I can’t figure out where Huckleberry Hound gets his surge numbers from. I can’t imagine the Park Rangers union voting for him and I certainly don’t think that Yogi and BooBoo have enough inluence over Iowa voters to perk him up.
Come on people. Wake up. Focus. Huckleberry will turn us into the United States of Mexico until he surrenders us to Islam.
I love Chuck Norris but I think ole Chuck has been blinded by a friend. Please Iowa, send Huck back to his home, left of Kansas.
Remember, Two weeks ago, the Huckster was no where to be found.
It is not too late for any of the Nominees to make a break to the front of the pack.
IMHO-Giuliani shot himself in the foot on the you tube debate when he lied through his teeth about NY being a sanctuary city, Then he said the second amendment was up to the supreme court and he did not have a gun.
I think this is what really hurt him not to mention his flip flopping on most of our issues.
He was the front runner just a couple of weeks ago.
Tancredo, Hunter and Fred are not out of the running what so ever, yet.
I would consider McCain except for his position on…well, several things. Torture, for sure. He actually broke under torture and gave accurate information in Hanoi. I don’t blame him; I just wonder how he can oppose soft torture like waterboarding now when American lives are at stake. I don’t get it!
Hey ScottyDog, Merry Christmas. Good to see you back.
You’re right, no one’s out of the picture but I suspect that the MSM is hiding Huckleberry’s real positions on inflamatory issues like immigration, big government, and taxes. I also believe they would be happy to have him go up against Hilary thinking that the Dems will win.
Ulterior motive, but not really all that subtle.
Rudy was never even in the running in Iowa, for multiple reasons.
Fred is Dead because he supports McCain Socialist agendas, and declares Perjury to be NOT an impeachable offense, EVEN WHEN COMMITTED BEFORE WORLD LEADERS HOPING TO SEE WHAT AMERICAN JUSTICE MEANS – FOR THE WORLD’S POLICEMAN – AT HOME!.
WHEN HE CLAIMED THIS JUNE 5th THAT IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO BECAUSE IT LINED UP WITH THE FOUNDING FATHERS…
What I think of FRED cannot be said in PUBLIC OR PRIVATE.
AND THE FOLLOWING GUEST WS ANN COULTER!!!
Fred is DEAD – unless he wants to come out of the closet and switch PARTIES. He’d have a grand following in Clinton’s shadow! He might could be Hillary’s Veep, in gratitude for Saving Bill!
Go Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo! YEA!!!
Huckabee, the champion of ILLEGALS, both Alien and American felons!!! AND the Champion of HIGH TAXES – to pay for all those SLAVE REPARATIONS for ILLEGAL ALIENS, don’t you know – FLUSH HIM!
“Christian!” IN A PIG’S EYE!
McCain looks mighty darned Manchurian to ME – and always has.
Remember, after his last Senate win THANKS SOLELY TO THE DIM VOTERS in ARIZONA, the Arizona State GOP Caucus voted UNANIMOUSLY to CENSURE McCain and BEGGED the National Committee to do the same!
Don’t forget his part in helping CREATE and INFLAME the scandals at Abu Ghraib and Gitmo! And has already been primarily responsible for having passed a previous bill banning torture by our military at a time when it constituted pandering to Liberals as much as it did a slap in the face of our military.
Oh, BTW – CORRECTION that McCain broke under TORTURE!
HE DID NOT!
HE BROKE UNDER THREAT TO NOT RECEIVE MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR INJURIES SUFFERED WHEN HE CRASHED, that were not perpetrated by his captors. (Included a broken leg, I think)
When you consider that his father was then field commander over the Vietnam arena…
Maybe none of us can say we also would NOT have broken, but having been there and FAILED is NOT qualifications for Commander in Chief! Such things as the Presidency of the United States of America are NOT for gifting out as a SYMPATHY card to the PITIABLE!
SOME things MUST be EARNED!
I’m curious, several other Vietnam POWS have been in Congress, including Jeremiah Denton, and a man who represented Orange County, California, and used to guest speak for Rush Limbaugh in Rush’s very early years, Bob Dornin or Dorgin, or something like that – not the Democrat now serving, this was a very fierce Republican who lost his seat due to an agregious amount of ILLEGAL ALIENS voting for a female hispanic Democrat candidate in that district, which California didn’t see as a problem.
Rabbit trail – sorry.
Anyway, my point is, wonder if any former POWS from Vietnam are going to endorse McCain, or even VOTE for him.
I think Jeremiah’s book mentioned McCain unfavorably back in the 70’s before ANYONE heard of McCain! But he expressed a strong sentiment of forgiveness towards several “fellow POWS” in that book, much as Corrie ten Boom did of Concentration camp guards who came to her in tears crying and begging her forgiveness and to lead them to Christ.
Not to say such POWS as had ruffled Jeremiah’s feathers had ever actually ASKED for any forgiveness or understanding, mind you.
But no former POWS coming forward who know the intimate details of McCain’s time in Vietnam have come forward to endorse him or his views on such things as American “TORTURE” of terrorists, etc.
Cutting the man slack in his personal relationships and as a private citizen is a good American tradition – but should NOT extend to cover FAILINGS in men who will assume tremendously important positions of power that they have shown themselves to be lacking in TENSILE STRENGTH to hold up under.
Compassion is one thing – turning a blind eye to serious flaw that seriously affects his ability to perform the vital necessities of that critical job is something very different.
