Len Amato, the senior vice president of HBO Films who gave $2,000 to Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) in 2004, said he can understand the concerns, but noted that his company has a long track record of thoroughly researching its historical topics before filming them.

That's what Dan Rather used to say over at CBS before his "retirement." (Now he is on Chris Matthew's tv show. Big surprise, huh?)

I know BS when I CBS.

We know that the movie will glorify Gore trial lawyer David Boies. He is a saint on the law school circuit. We know that the movie will not show how the Gore legal team totally misrepresented a ruling from an Illinois court and used that misrepresentation to win key rulings. We know that the movie will not show the strong Democratic Party ties of all the Florida Supreme Court justices. Recall that after the Florida Supreme Court overruled Judge Sauls and ordered a recount, the Florida Supreme Court virtually ordered the election of Al Gore. Dan Rather, giddy with delirium, went on the air, and asked rhetorically: "Will the Republican US Supreme Court" now swing into action? Interesting that Rather and other MSM reporters repeatedly referred to the "Republican US Supreme Court" but never once referred to the "Democrat Florida Supreme Court". And I wonder if the movie will even mention the brief effort by the Gore camp to prevent the counting of write in ballots by soldiers abroad because the Gore camp felt that military voters would swing to Bush. Fortunately, Joe Lieberman put a halt to that effort. And I wonder if the movie will mention the lawsuit filed by Gore supporters in which they sought to literally convert Bush votes to Gore votes. They had an "expert witness" who made a "statistical analysis" and then had to fess up that he owed his federal job to an appointment by the Clintons. Somehow I doubt it.
I am a one man research department for MM and hot air.

That’s also why the Electoral College exists in order to give the whole country their rightful voice nationally.
The founding fathers really were amazing!

Indeed they were, otherwise, our elections would be decided by NYC and Los Angeles.

And to hell with the rest of "flyover country". They don't really count anyway.

Leave the Electoral College alone!

I wonder how much of the film's time will be spent on how Gore didn't carry his home state of Tennessee - thus putting Florida into play in the first place.

A film about the 2000 election.

Talk about beating a dead horse.

One of the issues grossly overlooked in the 2000 Florida ballot was the 'snowbird' effect.

For those of you who may not be familiar, a 'snowbird' is a person that lives in the Northern part of the country for 9 months of year and spends the winter at their summer homes in Florida, or other Southern states.

Thousands were afforded the opportunity to illegally vote twice. Once in their Northern state home and also in Florida.

As the majority of 'snowbirds' tend to live in the dense populated areas of major Northern cities, the majority of the illegally cast votes would tend to be democrat.

To date, no serious action has been taken against these illegal acts and of course, no serious action has been taken to prevent this from happening in the future.

Taking into account other illegal voting issues and the unconstitutional attack on the military vote. Gore did not even come close to winning Florida.

He did successfully take away the constitutional rights of the military to cast absentee ballots. But, this should not be surprising considering how little respect the Clinton team had for the constitution and the rights of others.

AlohaGuy,

They want the Electoral College eliminated. That way they have complete power over this country. Like I posted earlier, a handful of big cities with concentrations of voters, ignorant government dependent voters, would determine national elections. We all know the registration percentage in the big cities is totally skewed Demortat by wide margins.
The Electoral College has population proportions built in to it. But, it was designed to prevent the total national popular vote from determining the election because the population density in cities would wipe out about 2/3 of the country geographically from having any voice nationally. There's a reason each state has an equal representation in the Senate but proportionate representation in the House. That's also why the Electoral College exists in order to give the whole country their rightful voice nationally.
The founding fathers really were amazing!
