Something similar is happening in NH. The liberal strongholds of Keene and Concord, Hanover(others?)seem to be coming into their own and I do not understand why much of the rest of the State is following along. Partly, here at least, the baby boomers and gen Xers seem to be the supporters of this "new age". It isn't just the people "from away", it's our own too. They don't like the status quo apparently, but seem not to know that the alternatives they support are worse by a long way. Maybe it's the property taxes? Maybe it's the liberal tone our public schools teach? Maybe it's just kismet? I wish I knew and I hope it goes away!!! It's not that conservative voices aren't speaking out, it's that these groups just don't want to hear.

Mr. CC, if you cannot understand my point of view from what I have already said, you never will. I do not have the time nor the inclination to endlessly debate an issue that will never be resolved. Let's move on and agree to disagree.

Happy New Year to you and yours and may God bless you all with health and happiness.

Katieanne,

You did exactly what I requested you not do, and a fair request it was: not to respond in generalities but to quote me and show me where I wronged you.

Striking first and crying foul isn't very conservative. Neither is letting loose another rant and then running away on the pretense of supeior thinking.

If I wronged you I'll apologize. Just show me where. Show the world conservatives are fair, Katieanne.

It will be interesting to see how the Democratic candidates try to distance themselves from the hate groups that actually helped the candidates get where they are now. Those hate groups don't play well with mainstream America. Despite differences of opinion, most Americans aren't haters. I see next year as being a particularly vicious election.

Some people really need to get a life and needs some counseling for this hate they seem to have for the President.

The thing that really drove me from the Democratic party and turned me to more of leaning right was the hate that the party seems to embrace now from the fringe groups.

I have no desire to tear you apart. I simply responded to the tone and rhetoric in your post to me. IMO, your first post to me was angry about a comment I had made that wasn't even directed at you. I am not the only person at MM who has considered boycotting as a means to react to stupidity of the left yet it appears I am the only one you have chosen to attack. Apparently my views upset you. Too bad. Rail on.

As I said before, take your anger issues out on the fanatics in Vermont, not me. They are the ones who have created this situation. And as I also stated, unless the conservatives in Vermont speak out, people will avoid the state. This started way back when O'Reilly was discussing the looney judges and trying to get Jessica's law in Vermont. He asked why conservatives weren't fighting back too. I am not alone in this observation. He offered his help. Sadly, the silence from conservatives in Vermont is deafening.

I don't waste my time going back and forth with people such as yourself. I disagree with your attitude and will not respond to you in the future. Find someone else to rant on. Is that succinct enough for you?

em>On December 29th, 2007 at 10:26 pm, katieanne said:
Mr. Conservative Cat, one of the few ways that an individual can make a difference is by making financial choices such as not viewing movies by Hollywood traitors, avoiding areas such as San Francisco, places where they do not support the military, cities that are sanctuary cities, etc. One small stand for sure, but it does make me feel better.

I'm sorry for you that things like that make you feel better. In a world with lots of grey areas I can't appreciate that mindset.
Per your suggestion, if i can get the word out I'll be sure to tell struggling conservative farmers in Vermont that Katieanne from michellemalkin.com thinks their families should suffer because she sees everything in absolutes.

Sorry, but I don’t buy your argument that conservatives in Vermont couldn’t fight back. If they wanted to be heard, they could be. You can make a difference here on MM.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do here but you don't want to hear my views - I get the impression you think like many Dems; "free speech is great as long as you agree with me". Kind of like when libs paint conservatives as intolerant, racist extremists. You know the type. Perhaps too well.

You can change perceptions. Many people read this site. O’Reilly would be up there in a flash if conservatives organized.

This is theone good idea expressed in this pile of vitriol you are putting forth as a reasonable post. It's something to work with, and I think you're right.

There are plenty of outlets other than local rags to get opposing views from the state out. Also, if they couldn’t get their views out in the papers, take out an ad.
Y

ou clearly don't know anything about this. It's been tried, and the ads have been turned away. I thought everyone knew this. Learn the basics.

Let me give YOU a heads up….don’t belittle others who sincerely respond in a negative way to the disgusting rot coming out of Vermont with your somewhat hostile sarcasm.

This is extremely curious. Would you please quote me an example of this in my previous posts in this thread and describe how it qualifies 9there are other posts elsewhere, usually in response to people who struck first)? I'm interested in your take (I'm not talking about this post which is a response to your surprisingly vitriolic post). (Katieanne only, please, I have limited time for this board) I have a pretty good feeling that your response will start off with, "not in this thread but..." I cannot help but think additionally this is about another thread regarding sitting out the election of 08 and letting the democrats win out of some sense of misplaced conservative idealism. Am i right? Otherwise, your hostile post is bewildering. And please no "I'm not going to take the time to explain it" stuff. Please point to what you object to from me which qualifies as you have described it in my previous posts on this thread. This is a great opportunity for you to tear me apart if you're so inclinded, so do it. Please explain succinctly.

That’s exactly what I’m trying to do here but you don’t want to hear my views – I get the impression you think like many Dems; “free speech is great as long as you agree with me”.

It’s something to work with, and I think you’re right.

There are plenty of outlets other than local rags to get opposing views from the state out. Also, if they couldn’t get their views out in the papers, take out an ad.

Y

ou clearly don’t know anything about this. It’s been tried, and the ads have been turned away.

I’m interested in your take (I’m not talking about this post which is a response to your surprisingly vitriolic post). (Katieanne only, please, I have limited time for this board) I have a pretty good feeling that your response will start off with, “not in this thread but…” I cannot help but think additionally this is about another thread regarding sitting out the election of 08 and letting the democrats win out of some sense of misplaced conservative idealism. Am i right? Otherwise, your hostile post is bewildering. And please no “I’m not going to take the time to explain it” stuff. Please point to what you object to from me which qualifies as you have described it in my previous posts on this thread. This is a great opportunity for you to tear me apart if you’re so inclinded, so do it. Please explain succinctly.
