I resolve to help my wife more to work with our autistic son.

For everyone here who resolve to quit smoking, well, as an asthma sufferer, I already know how it feels to be unable to walk across this room because you can't breath. Trust me, you don't want that!

No need to thank me. It is something I feel a need to do. And now that I know how it feels to do something like this, I will continue to do it.

Many things happened this past year in nearby DC that I could have attended to further show my support but didn't. I feel a need to recify this in '08.

Madmaxine, I too have not been able to serve my fellow Americans for physical reasons. Funny thing is all I remember is the doctor telling me and my mom it was not serious but it would keep me out of Vietnam. He used that phrase specifically and it has stuck in my mind every since. And I don't know why.

So, I resolve to make a soldier welcome in any capacity I can. I hope I can be worthy enough to serve those who serve.

No problem madmaxine. I had to turn in early last night with sniffles. Not the
flu...high mold spore count. I'm still sniflly and nothing is helping. Hope that
your back gets better and that the flu is almost over. My stepmother has it.
She didn't think she needed a flu shot and caught it from one of the grandchildren ( not mine ). What a way to spend the holidays. Hugs and a
heating pad for the back if that would make it feel better.

I resolve:

- To continue recovering from my TIA in November
- To find employment, or start my own company
- To finally tie the knot with the love of my life
- To stay in touch with family and friends
- To continue to provide a good home for my boys
- To continue the good fight, politically

Madmaxine, I wasn't in Viet Nam, my brother was. My husband and I were
both in the Navy but not during wartime, for me. Our oldest son was in the
air force and our youngest wanted to join the military but asthma kept him
out.

It was no problem at all TXRose, I can not serve my country in the way I want to. The very least I can do is give the Anti-American jack-a a piece of my mind.
It is nothing compared to your service in Viet Nam. Thank you for keeping me and my family free!

I resolve to change my party from Dem to Independent.

Last year I needed to lose about 10 pounds, now I'm up to 20. It's mine and Mr. Mom2Jack's 10th anniversary this May. I'd like to go away somewhere and look somewhat decent in a swimsuit.

I will also try harder to get up when the alarm goes off so I'm not racing to get my son to school on time every morning.

I will also make a greater effort to do more volunteering and helping others.

Thank you madmaxine for standing up for our troops. Thank you JohnnyD for
sharing your wonderful experience. We should each do this at least once in our
lives. I recently greeted returning troops and I was so touched by how much they
appreciated it. Returning vets from Viet Nam in the 70s is still too fresh for me.

JohnnyD Thank you for posting that wonderful story about greeting a solider. I just had an argument with some pretty nasty Demoncrats at youtube who were dissing a solders under a video that was supposed to be a tribute. Your post made me feel much better.

I am thoroughly resolved to mute the volume or change the channel on any tv news-/analysis show that allows Democrat spin-meisters to preface their rebuttals with the phrase "<em>The reality is</em>..."
This tired, cliched response should be retired because it has become a sure tip-off that what is about to be said next could fertilize every corn field in Iowa for the next three hundred years!
And sorry FNC, but as yours is the only channel I turn to for tv news, that does mean you!

Regarding wii tennis, it is a blast, lots of fun. But there is nothing like the real sport of tennis. It is difficult to learn and the big problem is that Federer and Sharapova and other stars are so brilliant at what they do that they make the sport of tennis seem easy. And it difficult as can be and so many beginners quit. But start taking lessons, work at it religiously and results eventually come. When you reach a level of proficiency and you have some capacity with the backhand shot, then you will become addicted to tennis. I promise. Nobody who picks up tennis and sticks with the rough patches will ever give up this sport. It is something that is part of your DNA. Just check out the people in the public park when it is 100 degrees in the summer. To the uninitiated, it seems like madness. But to those of us who are tennis addicts, it is normal behavior. And tennis is not a rich man's sport. Look at Rafa Nadal and the Williams sisters. I am an evangelist for this sport. Wii tennis is loads of fun but when you do the real thing, you will see what I mean.
