I couldn’t disagree more. Its ALWAYS to look at root causes. How do we ever expect to avoid negative social outcomes if we don’t take the time to consider what causes them?

Look at 9/11. I mean, everyone with a attrophied brain and a bleeding heart knows that the root cause of terrorism is American imperialism; likewise, the cause of black on white crime is white racism. So whenever something bad happens to someone, you have to look close and find a way to blame the supossed victim, who probably brought it upon himself. To do any less is to turn your back on the whole concept of social justice.

So we need to be brave enough to ask ourselves: what did the black community do to make the latinos hate them so much? How is the black community responsible for driving these poor latinos to murder them? How can the black community atone for getting in the way of the latinos’ bullets?

I think a good first step would be for the black community to apologize to the latinos and promise to stop doing whatever it is that fills the latinos with righteous anger and murderous rage.

Only then can the healing begin.

Even by the low standards of presidential campaigns, the issue of immigration has been badly served in the 2008 race. Candidates — and by this we mean the Republicans, mostly — have been striking poses and offering prescriptions that sound tough but will solve nothing. They have distorted or disowned their pasts and attacked one another ferociously, but over appearances, not ideas — over who can claim to be the authentic scourge of illegal immigrants, and who is the Lou-Dobbs-Come-Lately.

These people are clueless.
