TexasTiger #10... I am a Newyorker and no great fan of Bloomie, and I have thought a lot about the implications of his possible 3rd party run. And I LIKE it.

True outside the NYC area no one even knows him... but those 25 miles could mean NY, NJ, Conn & Penn going red if he can pull enough votes away from the Dems.

That is enough to tip the scales, especially if Rudy is the R ticket (Ew)

The great political scientist Richard Hofstadter wrote, "Third parties are like bees. Once they sting, they die." If Bloomberg finds an issue that differentiates him from the major party candidates, he might influence the subsequent agenda of the next administration even though he is almost certain to lose the election, just as Perot pushed Clinton into balancing the budget. As for becoming a pariah, Bloomberg will be crying all the way to the bank.

David Lyle Boren was a Governor, true, but he was also a Senator.

His nephew, Dan Boren, is a Blue-Dog Democrat Representative, now.

I have no problem watching Mr Nanny spend millions of dollars siphoning off liberal votes to find out how much flyover America hates people like him. That he would even consider a run for president shows how absolutely out of touch he is with the people living in the majority of the nation's landmass.
