Help pick Hillary’s new campaign theme song

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 7, 2008 03:04 PM

Update: I like Don Surber’s “Muskie.”

***
Hey, remember back in May when Hillary asked supporters to help her choose her new campaign theme song?

She picked Celine Dion’s “You and I,” but dropped the tune earlier this month. It’s time, in light of her teary-eyed performance today, to pick a new one, don’t you think?

My nominees:

A golden oldie: The Tears of a Clown…

Something contemporary: Big Girls Don’t Cry – Personal (Fergie)…

And a little R&B to show her funky diva side…Don’t Take It Personal (Just One of Dem Days)…

Taking up one of the commenters’ suggestions below, here’s Ella Fitzgerald’s version of “Cry Me A River:”

And there’s Edwards – no longer lowly.
Got to think of – some newfound gimmick
Maybe crying at this next stop is the ticket.

Then there’s Billy – he’s out there stumping.
    When he’s not – intern-a-bumping.
Got a phone call – said it’s from Hill.
He said “I love you” but we know it was really from James Carville.

What to do now – New Hampshire’s closing
Seems her campaign – is still dozing.
    Nothing’s working – she’s free-falling.
Maybe she should have found another calling.

Wait a minute – things are moving
Seems her numbers – are improving
Must have been those – tears a fallin…
Maybe next stop she’ll start a full force bout of ballin…

    when I’m feelin bullet proof.
So dont double-dog dare me now,
’cause id have to call your bluff!

There was a good ‘Loser’ reference back there, but

    After the Love is Gone
    -Earth Wind & Fire
(Only the first two verses, to save space)

For awhile to love was all we could do
We were young and we knew
    And our eyes were alive
Deep inside we knew our love was true
For awhile we paid no mind to the past
    We knew love would last
    Evry night somethin right
Would invite us to begin the dance

    Somethin happened along the way
What used to be happy was sad
    Somethin happened along the way
And yesterday was all we had
And oh after the love has gone
How could you lead me on
And not let me stay around
Oh oh oh afterthe love has gone
What used to be right is wrong
Can love thats lost be found

Perhaps another song by Mr. Loaf might describe how her marriage came to be:
    “Paradise By The Dashboard Lights.”

Bill isn’t the only one prayin’ for the end of time for her.

So how about “Po, Po, Pitiful Me” by Linda Rondstadt?

    Undun, by The Guess Who

    She’s come undun
She didn’t know what she was headed for
And when I found what she was headed for
    It was too late

    She’s come undun
She found a mountain that was far too high
And when she found out she couldn’t fly
    It was too late

    It’s too late
    She’s gone too far
    She’s lost the sun

    She’s come undun
She wanted truth but all she got was lies
    Came the time to realize
    And it was too late…

There is so much to that song that I see relating to Hillary that it gives me cold chills. Like the song implies, you either love her or hate her, there really is no middle ground. ;-)

When I hear [read] that Bill allegedly told Hill that he allegedly loves her, it makes me want to smack his lyin’ face. If anyone has proven that they love nobody but themselves, it is that disgusting narcissist, Bill Clinton.
    The best definition of, ‘Narcissism’:
“Erotic pleasure derived from one’s admiration or contemplation of one’s own body or self…”.
If that doesn’t describe Bill Clinton, I don’t know what does.

The Bitch is Back by Elton John

I was justified when I was five
Raising cane, I spit in your eye
Times are changing, now the poor get fat
But the fever’s gonna catch you when the bitch gets back

Eat meat on Friday that’s alright
Even like steak on a Saturday night
I can bitch the best at your social do’s
I get high in the evening sniffing pots of glue

    I’m a bitch, I’m a bitch
    Oh the bitch is back
Stone cold sober as a matter of fact
I can bitch, I can bitch
    `Cause I’m better than you
It’s the way that I move
    The things that I do

    I entertain by picking brains
Sell my soul by dropping names
I don’t like those, my God, what’s that
Oh it’s full of nasty habits when the bitch gets back
