Golden oldie video: The tears of a clown

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 8, 2008 04:01 PM

Just thought I’d reach into the vault and post this golden oldie as the Clinton machine hurtles towards its second loss in NH…

More reasons for Clinton croco-tears:

Voters are not turning their backs on Hillary Clinton because of doubts about a woman in the White House but rather turning on to the optimistic message of her rival Barack Obama, according to some experts on gender and leadership.

The 46-year-old senator with his wife and two young children makes Clinton, a 60-year-old political veteran, seem outdated to some voters, they said.

And here’s the latest rumor-mongering over Hillary’s implosion: HuffPo says she might skip Nevada and South Carolina and “dump millions into” an anti-Obama 527 group.

What was it that pouty Bill Clinton was saying about the influence of the rich in campaigns? Oh, yeah:

“We are very frustrated because we have a Supreme Court that seems determined to say that the wealthier have more right to free speech than the rest of us…”

“The rest of us?”

The ignorant masses that vote for Obama are scarier than those who would vote for Hillary. I can’t celebrate knowing that we may have to deal with Obama in office, even if it means the Clintons go away for good.

To put that into context, this other quote from that story, which is refering to Bloomburg is helpful

Democrats, it seems, can spend their own money on political speech without a whole lot of fretting from Bill Clinton. It’s only when someone threatening to run against his wife as an independent starts thinking about it that Mr. Clinton gets worked up.

I think the Clintons and DEMS in general hate it when someone one-ups their own one-upmanship game against them.

I wonder if those two will stay married if her White House bid comes up short. For that matter, will the Clintons retreat into private life at the end of Senator Clinton’s term, or will there be another attempt in 2012?

Bill Clinton might be a likeable guy in person, but he leaves me cold every time he gets on the stage.

Did anyone see the clip on Fox&Friends this morning when they had on Lanny Davis and some Repub pundit? Doocy asked Lanny Davis if the tears were real and Davis replied (paraphrasing) of course they were this is the Hillary I went to Yale lawschool with etc. etc. This is the real Hillary.

Doocy replied “Yea but our viewers sure don’t believe it, our email is going crazy.” Davis responded “Yea well, that sounds like the FOX viewers.” Kilmeade went nuclear on him and told him he had no right to dis Fox viewers etc. I’m hoping its the last we see of Lanny Davis.

Jonah Goldberg had a very interesting column in the NY Post today, in which he feels that the Dems are ready to write off the Clintons as has-beens and jump on the Obama bandwagon. The problem here is, so is the MSM, which means that Obama gets a get-out-of-jail-free card from the major news media until the election, now that he is being anointed as a messianic figure. So, for all the fun we might be having over Hillary’s downfall, we will need independent thinkers like Michelle to tell the whole truth about the new frontrunner before the hosannas of the MSM propel him into the White House to the Country’s later regret.

I remember Clinton supporters being incredulous when some viewers questioned Bill’s apparent phony grief at this funeral. They ridiculed Rush for attempting to “look inside another human being’s soul and trying to decipher personal emotion,” even with this videotape staring them in the face.

Now they are saying that Hillary’s dry tears on Sunday might have won her New Hampshire.

Their message – “Don’t question the Clinton’s fake tears.”
