Meanwhile, in Gaza City
Taking a break from election coverage, here’s your American flag desecration of the day via Yahoo! News (click for full image):
Who are they? They’re Palestinian Hamas supporters angry at West Bank moderates who’ve welcomed President Bush and the Annapolis folly. The Dems all argue that such widespread anti-Americanism is Cowboy Bush’s fault–even as Bush forges ahead with the very same, flawed diplomatic process they keep advocating as the “solution” for the Middle East. They’ve been burning American flags long before Bush was in office. And as the next president of the United States will discover soon enough, they’ll keep burning them no matter who’s sitting in the White House.
When is an American flag not being burned somewhere in the world?

Commenter DBNinKY:
“Where are Al Gore and his gang of global warming alarmists? Shouldn’t Al and the bunch be educating Hamas on outdoor burning as a contributory effect to global warming, given the vast number of Old Glories they singe each day? Don’t they care about the environment?”
Commenter Twiggman:
“We should burn the Hamas flag daily…see how that goes over.”

When is an American flag not being burned somewhere in the world?”
When?
When our elites and our leaders finally get it that it is better to be feared and respected, rather than loved.
For, we will NEVER be loved.
Never.
As long as we have a secure, stable, successful, prosperous country, with a high standard of living – which our U.S. socialist/fascists are doing their damnedest to destroy – we will be the envy of the world.
And, if you are envied; well, if you are not exactly hated, you certainly are not loved.
It reminds me of the left wing martyr/saint Rachel Corrie. She became a left wing nutroots saint/martyr when she threw herself in front of a bulldozer in Gaza that was trying to flush out a terrorist tunnel. The New Yorker Magazine and the New York Times Magazine were enraptured by Rachel. The MSM rushed out with a phony photo purporting to show the incident. The MSM ignored Corrie burning a paper US flag only days earlier. In the NY Times Magazine, the NY Times called Rachel Corrie everybody’s child and said Rachel Corrie’s critics were pathological. The New Yorker was even worse. But to the NY Times and the New Yorker, burning the American flag is a symbol of being hip.
I’m not sure I would actually call that desicration. Would you consider burning a mexican flag to be desicration if done in Chicago?
They hate us. WTF do you expect them to do, really.
When they do something shocking, call me.
April 25, 1976. Dodger Stadium. Rick Monday.
In other words, when people will stand against such tom-foolery (sorry, Tom)!
For every flag burner there are two Iraqis who are grateful for what America/Troops have done for them – they in turn raise the American flag.
The Left will have you believe that these Palestinian Hamas supporters are indicative of every person in the Middle East…that they simply want to return to the way things were when Americans weren’t on their soil.
Well, eat up MSM.
Right on Granite. Fear is the only thing that they will respond to. Let’s scare the hell out of them…..please.
I think I can do without being cursed at.
Reminds me of a quote we have on a wall somewhere around here: “Oderent, dum metuant”…Let them hate, so long as they fear.
It’s worked for me so far.
Where are Al Gore and his gang of global warming alarmists? Shouldn’t Al and the bunch be educating Hamas on outdoor burning as a contributory effect to global warming, given the vast number of Old Glories they singe each day? Don’t they care about the environment?
We should burn the Hamas flag daily…see how that goes over.
wow…wow…wow…Wait a minute!!!!! didn’t the US Taxpayer just send these FKwads a sht-load of money?????
Dear POTUS Bush….so….why exactly are we sending the mal-contents sooooooooo much of our hard-earned money?????
um….I am confused.

“But to the NY Times and the New Yorker, burning the American flag is a symbol of being hip.”
Exactly.
The NY Times and the New Yorker are just two of the innumerable examples of persistent adolescence we’ve been plagued with in our country for at least the last 40 years.
Hey, give the grownups the finger! Heh-heh-heh….
The entertainment & media elites, the education establishment, and leftist politicians, have been coarsening and corroding U.S. society for decades; and, by warping youngsters/students’ sense of citizenship and cultural history/identity, and graduating so many ignorant (but voting) souls, are essentially eating, and even burning, our cultural seed corn.
The reason it has taken so long for the erosion to reach the present tipping point is that we were so strong and stable, with a tremendous amount of cultural strength in reserve, so to speak, in the 40s, 50s, and 60s.
But, no longer.
The future is gonna be nasty, even if we survive, which I believe we shall.
The definition of insanity is repeating he same action and expecting a different result. Sending money and support to “moderate” terrorists while pressuring Israel to make unilateral concessions in order to build up “support in the street” for the “moderate” terrorists after continued attacks and threats by both allies of the “moderates” and their opponents, the “extreme” terrorists, is now a pattern of failure. It is a chumps game. The only solution is to say “No” if there is no provocation for a stated period then there will be a stated response. If there are continued provocations then more housing will be built in the disputed area. They could have had it all in 1967, they could have had almost all in 1980, they could have had over 90% in 2000, now they can have less and if they continue to delay and provoke they will get at best a lot less.
“Oderent, dum metuant”
yep,…got that right.

I was thinking about developing a line of Hamas flag pooper-scoopers for pet owners. Any takers?
Since that American flag replica has only 20 stars, I’m guessing they are upset about something that happened around 1820.
When Hamas burns our flag they honor us. Anything these mass murderers say is bad has to be by definition good.

Agreed.
It’s been ~35-40 years since high school (and college) Latin, but that sounds somewhat familiar.
Thanks!

I stopped pondering why they send my money anywhere. It hurts my mind less.
I accept it as a natural law that they will send money to places that hate us. I don’t like it, and I vote against it when ever I can, but it hasn’t surprised me in over a decade.
“Romaii Eunt Domum!”
J S Ragman, +1. Fantastic comment. Who knew Hamas was so worked up over the Missouri Compromise?
As a Masshole, I’d like to know when we’re getting Maine back.
#15 J S Put me down for 5…
mojo, Well Done!
Cheer up, all:
“Illegitimis non carborundum!”
“Don’t let the bastards wear you down!”

Hey brain-dead,
If you want to take exception to Michelle’s post learn to use spell-check…it gives the appearance of intelligence.
I am curious have you seen a Mexican flag burned in Chicago?
The point because you are to brain-dead to get it is…..it is not shocking because it happens everyday in the Middle East…it is expected.
This is a man bites dog story.
The day these crapweasels STOP burning the US flag as a daily/hourly ritual is the day we should start being concerned.
Don’t get me wrong, I respect our flag more than most Americans, but I expect these turdburglars to behave this way.
ok….that works….now maybe I won’t get deleted.
Americans are going broke because our government gives our money away w/ impunity.
check box on tax forms:
NO MONET FOR KNOWN TERRORISTS! check!
, wait, not paintings…..money….money!
There are liberal dupes everywhere…even in Gaza and the West Bank.
I don’t mean to make light of this distasteful display, but as someone who spent half of my life in the uniform of this country, I recognize an American’s right to do the same thing, cloaked under freedom of speech.
However, I do cordially invite this Hamas rabble to try to burn the one flying on my front porch in Virginia. I’d suggest you wear kevlar.
Leave it to Rusty to be in agreement with Hamas that it was a mistake to admit Maine into the Union…

With the amount of monetary aid we send these ingrates, you would think they could light up a real American flag in style.
Hamas/Hezbollah/al Aqsa Brigade = Taupe Trash
I don’t really care about flag burning. What I do care about is that we’re funding both sides of the war in Israel that motivates people on both sides to hate us and burn our flag. We’re funding their war. How are we expected to broker a peace as we continue to give them more weapons and more money? It’s insanity. Why do Israel and Palestine deserve all of this attention? What is it about them that is so special?
DON’T TREAD ON ME!!!DON’T GIVE MY MONEY AWAY!
um….dude….in case you haven’t noticed…Israel
& palestine
have nothing in common.
start here: http://thisongoingwar.blogspot.com/
What do you have against Israel?
Americian Flag has 50 stars, that flag only has 20. Not really sure who they are mad at today.
Must be the first 20….

You guys have some ticked off people to deal with.
Er, the “money” that we give to Israel is actually credits for the purchase of military hardware that is manufactured here, which means the money stays here.
These are the same moon god worshipers that danced in the street, and passed out candy on 9-11.
Wake up Condi. Stop giving these terrorists my tax money.
Rachel Corrie didn’t throw herself in front of a bulldozer, it was backing up and the operator didn’t see her.
It wasn’t a martyrdom, but an accident.
Natural selection.
Hmm. The flag doesn’t have 50 stars, so it’s not the flag I live under.
We should make Hamas flags look really silly and stupid (mockingly) and burn them. But, would the MSM cover it?
If you burn an American Flag it’s free speech (just ask the ACLU), but if you burn the flag of another country, particularly a muslim country, it would be labeled Hate Speech, and you would probably be charged with a hate crime. Similar to putting a koran in the toilet.
On the upside, it would be front page of the NY Slimes et. al.
Oh, no…I’m all for burning the Qur’an. Let’s have a barbecue, and we can hold hands around the bonfire and sing kum-by-yah.
Let’s see how THAT goes over!
Personally I’m all for stopping all US monies that go to foreign countries. They
all hate us (even while their hands are out for money) and the people very rarely get the money passed down to them, anyway. We can use the money here to pay for all of the entitlements illegals use.
Gotta keep those prayers going for Pres Dubya as he heads into unfriendly
countries. You know there are Muslims being fitted for vests as we speak and
making their final video for their families and Al Jazeera.
Just think of the fence we could build on both borders with the money we send to the sand box.
I don’t mind if they burn our flag…just want them to wrap themselves in it first.
DilbertFan said:
I’m guessing it’s President James Monroe, darn his Jeffersonian Democratic-Republican policies.
Iron my shirt, sandflea.
Just to put things into historical context: the flag they are burning is a model of “The 1818 20 Star Flag.”
It just goes to show that some folks are a couple of hundred years behind the times.
Al Gore couldn’t respond to this news story and warn them on global warming, because, when the story came out, he was driving his SUV from paying his electric bill, to the airport to catch his private plane on another lecture tour. Just didn’t have the time.
Heh.
I have actually thought about doing this kind of thing in front of a local mosque. I wonder if it would make the evening news and maybe be shown world wide but then of course I would be called a bigot, racist etc… like I really care what these idiot’s think of me.
When, Where and what time, I would like to pre order a extra thick pork chop.
Great idea a suicide burner.
What? No apology for Michelle, swj719AWG?
Has anyone ever seen a happy Muslim? Even if they had all the land Israel has they would still be upset and outraged over something. They would be upset that the Philippines, Thailand are not Islamic republics. I have never seen such people all the time being outraged, upset and most miserable all the time. Even if the world was all islamic they would still be upset and burning their kids up I imagine.
Hey, let’s give these a-holes their own country and a billion taxpayer dollars in aid!
Re Twiggman:
A College Republican group burned the Hezbollah flag and was charged with a hate crime because their flag contains the world “allah”. Hamas flag burning I’m sure will be just as welcomed.
Which reminds me, has Sesame Street done away with their magician puppet who likes to conjure things from his hat with the phrase “A la peanut-butter sandwiches”?
I have to confess that I’ve never seen a Hamas parade and not prayed that there was an Israeli plane circling overhead with a neutron bomb strapped beneath it.
Kill the taxi drivers, but save the taxis.
I just read an astonishing statistic in Mark Steyn’s America Alone. The median age of residents of the Gaza strip is an astonishing 15.8 years!
Basically a bunch of maladjusted kids, educated from birth in hate-America and blame-the-Jews ideology. Is it any wonder they can’t get along?
Let’s send them a few billion dollars more.
The cynical side of me wonders if this lunacy isn’t actually a calculated move to fuel the Hamas/Fatah civil war in order to cull their numbers, since we all know that most of the money will go for weapons.

Ummmmm…peanut-butter sandwiches.
Hadsil – returning the favor, here’s a blast from the past.
Almost twenty years ago, these same Hezbollah bastards kidnapped and murdered a friend of my family, Colonel Rich Higgins, USMC, then displayed his body for every television in the world to see.
Ever since, they have been either dancing in the streets when my City and my Country were attacked, or burning my Flag, praying for my destruction.
Why are people I voted for giving them my tax dollars??
Zorro, if anyone thought I was actually swearing at michelle specificly, and not using “wtf” as general, non-targeted phrase, they are welcome to think that.
I really don’t give a damn. I’m less than surprised than my failure to absolutely tow the line has caused me to meet something not unlike those who leave the democrat plantation get.
Guess I just can’t get get shocked by something they’ve been doing for decades.
And if Jaded wants to be that literal, I”ve got a few choice phrases there.
After the death of Rachel Corrie, The NY Times gave reporter Deborah Sontag the last page of the NY Times Magazine to write a love poem to Rachel Corrie. And incredibly, this was the same reporter who was supposedly a nonbiased reporter covering the Israeli-Arab dispute. Sontag turned Corrie from a terribly troubled and confused young woman into the very symbol of American youth. And to Sontag and the Times, this was objective reporting because youngsters like Corrie are the only young people they ever see.
I wrote to the Times and asked why the article never mentioned Corrie burning a paper American flag only days earlier. I got an answer from some flak at the Times saying that the flag burning was irrelevant. That is how outside the mainstream reporters at the NY Times are. Burning the flag in Gaza is to the Times, just an innocent form of protest against the Bush administration.
swj719, I think you missed Michelle’s response to your comment:
