80 anti-Gitmo protesters arrested at Supreme Court
John Lilyea has a photo essay and video from the anti-Gitmo protest at the Supreme Court. Eighty demonstrators, many clad in those left-wing fashionable orange jumpsuits, were arrested. John filmed some of the marchers reading Gitmo detainee poetry obtained and published by the pro bono lawyers for jihad–subsidized, as Debra Burlingame has reported, by Arab governments. Take a look:

While I was taking pictures behind the podium, one guy ran up to another and said “OK, the police want to go ahead and arrest them now”. That was a pretty good hint to me.

Those that “captured” them will not cut their heads off as the al Qaeda they defend would do just for disagreeing.
Being in the United States, they will be afforded habeas corpus rights, while al Qaeda would turn them into corpses.
Perhaps if those protesters were very knowledgeable al Qaeda they’d be made to believe they were drowning (while actually in no danger) and made to wet their spiffy orange jumpsuits. Yet, seeing how they are “loyal” Americans, what was left of them after the al Qaeda finished with them would more readily fit into an evidence bag than a body bag.

We laugh at these dorks — understandably — but this kind of political theater works. When the Supreme Court raped property rights (Kelo) and freedom of speech (McCain-Feingold), what did the Right do? Same things we always do: write a letter to the editor (who probably doesn’t print it anyway) or to our Congresscreep, who yawns and puts your name on his sucker list for donations. Seriously, we might disparage these tactics, but we on the Right have got to do for our causes something similar, and do it again and again, and in an attention grabbing way. Ideas?

This goes back to the previous thread. Why are these people so Hell bent on defending and freeing those who were taken in the field trying to kill our soldiers and were taken attempting to plot the overthrow of governments and plot terrorist attacks.
Gitmo is NOT the first stop in the line of places that these Islamic thugs go. It is not a prison clearing house, it is not a simple holding facitlity, nor is it the Gitmo that was at the begining of the war back in 2001-2002.
The “Lawyers” that are there, that are representing these murderers and wannabe murderers all have their own agendas. They are not there telling the truth as to what is going on. they are not there to give a good light to the soldiers serving there, the guards, the country running it or anything else. they ahve one purpose and one purpose only, and that is to get their clients off with any means at their disposal, even if it includes traitorous actions and seditious motives.
So, when these “people” show up to hear these “lawyers” talk, all they hear is exactly what they want to hear. they are spoon fed the pablum of the hate that they thrive on. It matters not if it is true, it matters not if anyonwe has actually made sure that the facts were checked, that there is any actual evidence to their claims…as long as it meets their criteria of, “Bush hates Brown People and wants to Kill Arabs for Oil. Bush TOrtures people. BUSH IS HITLER!!”
That, ultimately, is all that matters. They state they are against torture, pain, suffering, violence and death…only to hurt, torture, bring pain, suffering etc., to the police, the soldiers, and the people who come across them or oppose them.
these are the biggest and worst of all the Liberal anti-American, seditious traitors out there. These people not only support and defend Islam and the death and destruction, the servitude and such that Islam has buried deep into it’s teachings, deep into it’s holy books and that is taught and spread throughout all the Islamic countries on this planet, these people actually are working desperately to free those that have sworn with their last, dying breath to kill, maim, mutilate every last American, Jew and non-believer they can…until they are stopped by someone’s oen hand…and free them into the United States, giving them all rights and honors that are bestowed upon you, me and any other actual American citizen.

How about we engage in a little “direct action” of our own using various blunt instruments? Over the years since the invasion of Iraq we’ve gotten stories of them disrupting shipments to troops, throwing things at cops, tearing up recruitment stations, shooting college republicans, having “puke-ins” where they vomit all over city sidewalks, interruption of traffic, hanging soldiers in effigy, openly calling for murder of military officers, physically threatening the Secretary of State, these are just off the top of my head. I’m sure others on here can come up with many more examples of their treasonous behavior

We don’t partake in such actions because we believe in law. We believe in order. We don’t believe in placing our brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement and Fire in harm’s way by attacking these animals. We certainly do not spread diseases by beling so disgusting as vomitting everywhere.
We do not actually condone or believe in violence. However, we do believe and follow the techings of the Bible. A while back Greg Gutfeld had an interesting idea for the people who wanted Gitmo closed. Make them adopt the prisoners. Make them personally responsible for anything that these people carried out.
I know the idea of personal responsibilty is novel to them, but maybe it would teach them something.

But seriously, when I looked at the pic at the link to this story, my first thought was they were ready for the sword. Then Dan Pearl popped in my empty cavern. Why I even thought that Zarqawi would have loved to see this. He would have reminisced about the time….ahem, sorry. I got a little carried away.
Well anyway, my point here is that these people just don’t have a clue as to the consequences if they got their way. If they thought about it, they would not be so compliant. If only they knew what would happen to them if the jihadis had their way.

When laws and the system become so corrupted as to remove any chance of resistance, what then? Do we allow ourselves to be rounded up and shipped off, ala the Soviet Union, or North Korea, or China, or anywhere else where the extreme left has taken over? While these are certainly extreme examples, can it really be argued that if the Leftists get what they want, this is not what will happen? It’s no secret that the people behind-the-scenes at these protests are consistently communist organizations. Zombie goes out of his way to detail this. Every day, people like Ms. Malkin and WorldNetDaily and hundreds of other sites and people on the ‘net relate stories of the non-stop, albeit gradual, encroachment on our basic freedoms. The perpetrators are constantly from the Left, those who all know what is best for us.
The Founding Fathers worked within the system until all diplomatic means were exhausted. At some point, they had to resort to violence, even as they continued to appeal to the sovereign as the war continued.
I really don’t agree that fighting to preserve the foundation of the nation that we’ve inherited is on par with fighting to bring that nation down. The idea that taking to violent means to protect freedoms given to us by God from being taken away by man should leave a “stench on our souls” is incorrect, in my view.
As you write, there is a time for war. And I believe it’s coming. Sooner or later, there will be violence. I still say we might as well get it over with. I don’t relish the thought, but I can’t see it being resolved any other way.

I live in area that is ninety-nine percent registered Democrat and have yet to meet a one of them who thinks Guantanamo should be closed.
As these protesters so much free-time on their hands, maybe they should look into more creative ways of spending it, such as volunteering at an animal shelter or helping to weather-proof the homes of the elderly, and just leave the rest of us alone!
Having witnessed protestors cross the wall onto Capitol grounds to get themselves arrested, I can tell you that they consider a Big Fun Game. They would literally jump into the arms of the police and cheerfully submit to being handcuffed, laughing and smiling. They knew they had rights and wouldn’t be harmed by the cops. Getting arrested establishes the street cred of radicals, it boosts them up in their lefty world, just like getting arrested boosts the reputation of a street gang member.
Some of the protestors would actually fall backwards into the arms of the Capitol police, they trusted their good character that much. This is the same crowd that called the police “pigs” and “fascists.” The protestors don’t believe the crap they’re spewing. The cops would actually push some jumpers back, when they were perched on the wall to jump, just so they wouldn’t have to arrest them.
Earlier, when they staged a big “die-in” on the sidewalk leading to the Capitol and the police ignored them, the organizers were disgruntled that they weren’t being arrested.
What the protestors want to do is put on a show of heroic lefty protest against the fascistic Bushitler regime and its imperial storm troopers. They know it’s completely safe to do so because Bush is never gonna hurt them, like a real fascist regime would.
The protestors don’t want to get hurt and the police don’t want hurt anyone. They both want a safe process for protesting. So police and protestors cooperate in the protests to make them an orderly process. The protestors also cooperate with the press. The protestors get coverage and the press gets free content, staged for their benefit. It’s a win-win-win process.
And this incestuous relationship between lefty protestors, cops, and press has been going on for decades. Tom Wolfe depicted it in his novel “The Bonfire of the Vanities” back in 1987. It was a long established phenomena in New York City by then.

I’ll go with the paid expert. Adm. Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stated yesterday that he believes that Gitmo should be closed (largely for the reasons articulated by Huckabee). Just keepin’ it real Michelle.
