Looks like the influence of top open-borders adviser Patti Solis Doyle (who, you may recall, refers to herself as the “Latina queena“) is dominating the Hillary campaign and Hillary’s closest left-hand woman. Doyle is the daughter of illegal immigrants from Mexico and outspoken on the issue.
After briefly flirting with a Buchanan-esque tougher-on-borders stance, then moving to back to the left, then keeping quiet after botching her October debate answer on illegal alien driver’s licenses, then sounding tough again on criminal illegal aliens, Hillary is brazenly courting the illegal alien vote. In Nevada, she combined her housing bailout agenda with an open-borders flavor in a visit to Mexican illegal aliens who are apparently defaulting on home loans they should never have obtained in the first place. Mira:
Clinton and her busload of traveling press moved from there to the popular local Mexican restaurant Lindo Michoacan, where a “roundtable” that was actually square passed a microphone around to tell her people’s concerns about the mortgage crisis and foreclosures. She took notes and munched on tortilla chips.
In broken English, one woman told Clinton how she wasn’t making money as a broker anymore.
“I have no income at all,” she said. “So how will I survive?”
Choking up with emotion, the woman said, “In my neighborhood, there are brand-new homes, but the value is nothing. I’m glad you are here so I can tell you, because you’re going to be the president, I know.”
A man shouted through an opening in the wall that his wife was illegal.
“No woman is illegal,” Clinton said, to cheers.
So, she’s only exempting illegal alien women from immigration law?
Next thing you know, she’ll be naming Elvira Arellano an honorary campaign co-chairman. Chairwoman. Whatever.
Looks like she needs a little sleep, because her open-borders babble won’t even make sense to her target audience:
Clinton said unscrupulous lending leads to bad mortgages, which lead to foreclosures, which lead to people with nowhere to go and vacant neighborhoods that can go rapidly downhill.
“We treat these problems as if one is guacamole and one is chips, when … they both go together,” she said.

yes, you will find out the subprime problem and illegals are innertwined. the key for illegals is to own property quickly so they can stay and move to citizenship.
the mortgage problem is directly tied to the illegal problem. they are purchasing cars and various other items on loan and when the $$$ gets low they quickly pack up the ‘new ford truck’ and go back to mexico. meanwhile, the new phone number i got last year is still getting calls from their collectors trying to find them. their family keeps giving this old number.

I wish someone would hold McCain accountable for his attempt to undermine our country under the guise of “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”.
As scary as it is to think of what will happen to our country and culture with a liberal in office, it is scarier to think that many of the “electable” conservatives running for office don’t really take a tough stance on this issue.
There can be no reasonable explanation to justify jailing an employer for providing jobs to illegals, while at the same time discussing a taxpayer bailout to lenders for providing loans to illegals. I say they have violated the same principal and should endure the same penalty.

3 years ago, we moved back outside of the city where I had trained 25 years previously (bad move…moving heaven and earth to move again!).
I took a drive through the area where we had lived, where I had trained, the bakeries, the diner, where I had gone running…scary!
Glad I did not have to get out of the car.
Wouldn’t go back there again unless I were armed, and in an armored column.
Once nice, pleasant neighborhoods that now appeared worse than trashed.
And I used to think my Dad’s cousin was just talking when he used to describe stuff like this 35-40 years ago about changes for the worse in one of our metropolises, where my Dad had grown up.

Don’t jump on me guys but having worked in the mortgage finance industry I can tell you the banks get it coming and going. If they don’t make the loans they are accused of red lining and minority descrimination. If they do make the loans they have a heavy default rate hence, the higher terms for substandard borrowers.
My husband and I didn’t own a home until we were 38 for God’s sake because we couldn’t afford one! And, we both have college degrees and speak English just fine!

I think about all the paper work and personal information we have to give for a any kind of loan….how just how do illiegals do it? When you close on a house they make a copy of your drivers license and have to have proof of a job and ssn, and it often takes weeks or longer to get approved. I guess that is only for U.S. Citizens not for someone visiting from south of the border.
As for Hillary pandering for votes from people who can’t vote is just typical for the left and McCain also.
You do realize they are using a US citizens SS#’s to get these loans to begin with. Document fraud, identity theft, and who pays for it? The one whose SS# they stole. And the rest of us, of course.

Not exactly a “safe and sound” lending practice to give hundreds of thousands of dollars to someone who can skip out on the loan in a heartbeat. Most lenders un the last required at least a green card, but that practice went out the window to cater to the huge illegal market.
I fully agree that to the extent we provide penalties on employers who hire illegal aliens, we should also apply those same penalties to the financial institutions that loan them money. They are at least as culpable as an employer for contributing to the problem.

This phrase, “No woman is illegal” may be a classic. It would take a village of linguists to have any hope of making sense of it. No meaning can be attached to the phrase. It refers to nothing. It can’t be parsed. People justifiably pick on Bush for his garbled syntax, but this is Bush on steroids. It’s like saying: No tree is hungry, or No fish is actionable. She should be hammered on this one, but that would make her cry and we don’t want that, do we?

The increasingly prominent Democrat position in favor of amnesty and benefits for illegal aliens is one which should give Republicans a strong edge in 2008.

The reason we have the mortgage crisis is because of people like Hillary Clinton. There were pressures from policy makers and organizations like ACORN to make no-money down mortgage loans to low-income people. So mortgage lenders did that and now the same people want to penalize those lenders for doing so with enabling the people who didn’t pay back their loans to sue the lenders for “predatory lending practices.” It’s utterly disgusting and it will ensure that no one without stellar credit gets a mortgage ever again. So once again, the politicians who’ve never held a real job in their lives – much less understand anything fiscal – will wind up making it impossible for poor people to ever get ahead. But that is the whole liberal modus operandi: keep them poor and dependent on Uncle Sam’s Plantation so that they stay in power. It’s disgusting. I shouldn’t just blame the libs because there were many so-called “conservatives” who jumped on the same bandwagon. With this sort of economic thinking, (or lack thereof,) we will have a recession. Start saving your money folks.

Honestly, no need to go to Phoenix for that. There are a ton of them here in Seattle. In fact, there are many here in my apartment community. They do indeed drag down the appearance of the area, and their children seem to have the idea the whole world is their playground, including the parking lot (I have almost hit children running in the parking lot at least five times!).

I read the first page of the “comments” section at the bottom. It is impressive as to what filth is allowed to be written when no control at all is exercised. Amazing how brave they are when wearing that “cloak of invisibility”.
Unfortunately, Nevada has the highest rate of forecloseres in the nation — 1 in 61 homes. Nationwide rate is 1 in 196 homes.
This is bad news for the rest of us normal people who are paying for homes that we can afford.

Did you know that 8 of the 19 9/11 hijackers registered to vote while obtaining 57 drivers licenses and ID cards from various states?
In 2001, Governor Huckabee worked against a law that would have prevented illegal aliens from voting in Arkansas. In 2007, Senator Clinton “understood what governors like Eliot Spitzer were trying to do” when he (most do not know), by gubernatorial fiat, removed the block at DMVs that previously prevented illegal aliens from registering to vote.
Until Spitzer stopped issuing licenses, 23,000 aliens received them in New York states after that that block was lifted. Worse still, those licenses were issued for a period of four years instead of when their visas expire. While how many of those 23,000 registered to vote is not known, should they show up at a polling place in the federal election this year and for New York’s statewide elections in 2010, they will be allowed to vote.
While Senator Clinton soon reversed her approval for Spitzer’s plan and Governor Huckabee changed his mind in 2005 (after fighting it) and signed an Arkansas law prohibiting illegal aliens from obtaining a drivers licenses, both want illgeal aliens to vote right here in America, ‘rule of law’ and ‘national security’ be damned.

How much closer to oil self sufficiency would we be without 12 – 30 million illegals living in our country, driving cars and heating homes?
How much less would health care cost if illegals were not filling (and closing) ERs and citizens didn’t have to foot the bill with their health care coverage?
How much less would education costs be without illegal children filling classrooms and getting in state tuition?
How many more citizens would be employed at reasonable wages if they weren’t being undercut by illegal workers? How much higher would their incomes be?
How many people would still be alive if it weren’t for illegals driving in this country?
How many less drugs, how much less crime, how many less gangs etc., etc.
You get the picture. I just wish our politician would.
