How much closer to oil self sufficiency would we be without 12 – 30 million illegals living in our country, driving cars and heating homes?

How much less would health care cost if illegals were not filling (and closing) ERs and citizens didn’t have to foot the bill with their health care coverage?

How much less would education costs be without illegal children filling classrooms and getting in state tuition?

How many more citizens would be employed at reasonable wages if they weren’t being undercut by illegal workers? How much higher would their incomes be?

How many people would still be alive if it weren’t for illegals driving in this country?

How many less drugs, how much less crime, how many less gangs etc., etc.

You get the picture. I just wish our politician would.

A much better system than selling image on TV would be to insist candidates put their positions in plain English on the web and other public places like libraries for scrutiny.

In 2001, Governor Huckabee worked against a law that would have prevented illegal aliens from voting in Arkansas. In 2007, Senator Clinton “understood what governors like Eliot Spitzer were trying to do” when he (most do not know), by gubernatorial fiat, removed the block at DMVs that previously prevented illegal aliens from registering to vote.

Until Spitzer stopped issuing licenses, 23,000 aliens received them in New York states after that that block was lifted. Worse still, those licenses were issued for a period of four years instead of when their visas expire. While how many of those 23,000 registered to vote is not known, should they show up at a polling place in the federal election this year and for New York’s statewide elections in 2010, they will be allowed to vote.

While Senator Clinton soon reversed her approval for Spitzer’s plan and Governor Huckabee changed his mind in 2005 (after fighting it) and signed an Arkansas law prohibiting illegal aliens from obtaining a drivers licenses, both want illgeal aliens to vote right here in America, ‘rule of law’ and ‘national security’ be damned.

Clinton said unscrupulous lending leads to bad mortgages, which lead to foreclosures, which lead to people with nowhere to go and vacant neighborhoods that can go rapidly downhill.

Honestly, no need to go to Phoenix for that. There are a ton of them here in Seattle. In fact, there are many here in my apartment community. They do indeed drag down the appearance of the area, and their children seem to have the idea the whole world is their playground, including the parking lot (I have almost hit children running in the parking lot at least five times!).
