The worldwide anti-Gitmo protests
I told you yesterday about the anti-Guantanamo Bay “Wear Orange” campaign scheduled for today. It’s a worldwide event, with anti-American zealots using Gitmo as a pretext to vent all their hatred at our military and our nation–and play dress-up with their orange jumpsuits. They’re demonstrating in Australia, Ireland, the Philippines, Sweden, Ireland, Bahrain, Paraguay, and elsewhere.
Today, I’d like to thank the men and women who serve at Guantanamo Bay–for enduring unhinged abuse not only at the hands of protesters, but also at the hands of manipulative detainees who have played the American left and Western media for fools. I’m reprinting a letter I received two years ago from the father of a soldier who served at Gitmo:
I just watched you on FOX. My daughter was in Gitmo for a year as a Master-at- Arms, E4. (10/04-10/05) She was injured several times by the inmates assaulting her physically. In addition, she knew that when she was doing her job by enforcing the rules, she was threatened by the prisoners if she had to touch them. They would get her. They mixed a cocktail of urine, feces, and semen, and let it fester for days until the right moment. They warned her that she was a target and then they got her, she was assaulted several times by loads of crap thrown at her.
She had to undergo shots to prevent what diseases that she was exposed to. I don’t know why we have women guarding men, especially these animals, but that is the policy. My daughter is a tough cookie and can handle herself. In her year there she did not dishonor herself or our country. When she returned home she had a DVD of Gitmo. They made fresh bread every day!! Part of it showed how the chef’s prepared special meals for the prisoners. If a prisoner refused food the guards were happy to sample the Chicken, rice pilaf, yogurt and fresh baked pita bread, while our guys had crap food from the mess or had to buy it from Burger King.
As part of her duties, in the last month she was there, she was assigned to the hospital ward. She had to force feed those a..holes who offed themselves the other day. They were the meanest of the bunch and had to be tied down to get their food. My daughter and other personnel voluntarily submitted themselves to the force feeding procedure also so that they could do it with the least pain for the captives. It was very unpleasant for her but it helped her and others to understand how to participate in it with the least stress for the recipients. The goal was to keep them alive. She feels that the suicides would not have happened on her watch, but it was going to happen eventually. These guys are warriors. By their death they have achieved a military success in the political world. The media marches on.
If you know someone who has served there or family members of troops who have served there, make sure to give them your support today.
In about an hour, the moonbats will be marching to the Supreme Court to hold a “funeral…remembering the four men who died in custody at Guantanamo and mourning the death of Habeas Corpus.”
Have they ever held memorial services for the servicemen and women who have died at the hands of the jihadi masterminds being held at Gitmo?
No, no, I didn’t think so.

Is it a protest or a moonbat reunion?
The problem with the Gitmo uniform is it’s to chic, compared to the rags that they wear in the Gulags And Chinese and North Korean Slave labour camps. And as we all know, no good true liberal would be caught dead not looking fashionable.
See? Like I said in the other thread…
Are these Gitmo protesters, or Bloomberg / Cheez-It protesters?
The colors are confusing. Need more coffee.
Let’s see, now, these must be the grandchildren of all the world’s people who tried so hard to stop Hitler from 1931 to 1939, right?
The accessory that would go perfect with they’re outfits is ‘Tar and Feathers’
Dhimmies
Theyy look like road cones. Maybe that would be a suitable joob for them on the interstate system ?
JimC214 beat me to the punch.
I don’t think we’re talking about American citizens (if I recall correctly, two Americans are being held for GWOT-related purposes but have been given due process).
As for the others, they don’t have legal standing in the US, except in a military court. Maybe Amnesty Int’l could refer us to what the standard punishment is for enemy combatants fighting w/o uniforms?
All of this should have been resolved years ago: try them in court: if found guilty = death penalty or prison term, if not guilty = sent back to wherever they come from.
End of story, and liberals can move on to protesting against foie gras and other extremely important issues.
Being that I’m in DC, I’m hoping I run some of these jackasses today.
i made my husband wear green today.
I wonder what these protesters would do if we were engaged in a WWII style-war with that style of POW imprisonment (21st-century style, of course)?
Would they demand that all those captured POWs be given court proceedings? Would they clamour over their living conditions?
I highly doubt they would be on the side of their country in that debate as well.
What is the opposite of orange? Let me break out a color wheel…
In Nebraska, we wear red on Fridays to support the troops. And bloghooligan, my husband wore green today too.
Ant:
i have a better solution: kill them where we picked them up.
what ever happened to “take no prisoners”? there’s a sound logic to the old phrase, you know.
Some people just have too too much freedom (AND TIME) on their hands. Too much time is the workshop of the left-wing devil. Muauauahahahahahahaha…Muauauauahahahahahaha. (credit to Dr. Evil)
Personally, I wouldn’t want them to. They do not posess the honor or integrity to perform such a service.
So just take the savages out and shoot them. No need for Gitmo anymore.
I’m not really serious but I have had it with these pansies who keep complaining about the most humane and decent prison/detention center in the history of the world. We are at WAR!!!!
The prisoners there are being given better treatment than prisoners in normal jails. They are animals and savages who would like nothing better than to get the chance to slice the very throats of these idiot protesters.
I guess it’s time to make these morons watch the Nick Berg beheading and then try to justify closing Gitmo
GET a day job already.
i have a better solution: kill them where we picked them up.
I second that solution…do we have a quorum?
Not exactly the same thing: POWs, in a WWII style war, would be regular guys called up by their country to fight, within a traditional army. Court proceedings would be uncalled for.
The Gitmo bunch, on the other hand, are not ordinary POWs, therefore it should be perfectly possible to try them and then either execute them or deport them, depending on each indiviual outcome. There aren’t that many of them so it wouldn’t take that long (as opposed to hundreds of thousands of POWs in WWII).
The orange-suited protesters could then stop protesting and try to do something useful with their lives.
Did they all forget their tinfoil today? What gives?
The father of the young female soldier is correct. I too served at GTMO and the letter is spot on. The service members performing this thankless job deserve our support and respect. And – the terrorists (they are not insurgents, freedom fighters or soldiers but terrorists) are exactly where they belong – as we have seen the results of catch and release..
Does anyone else note the irony that these Gitmo-protesting moonbats aren’t free to protest outside the gates of Gitmo? Even Castro doesn’t want these f-tards wandering loose in the prison on his side of the fence.
Yeah, and they support the troops… riiiight.
Hey art student from last century, I am wearing purple today (the complementary color to orange) actually as a Minnesota Vikings fan, I am wearing my Vikes T Shirt on casual Friday
Anything I would like to say right now about these treasonous idiots would get me banned for foul language.
I dare them to march through the Catholic sections of Belfast in their orange jumpsuits.
If they protest in Holland will anybody notice?
And on Saturdays paint yourself red to support the Cornhuskers.
They look real good behind that fence, too bad we can’t keep them there.
They look like the trash clean-up crew. Funny though. No world-wide protest over Darfur? Honor-killings? No, no, the best treated prisoners in history perhaps…oooh, aren’t we hip….
Maybe the protesters should take the next step, and really honor the Gitmo prisoners by turning out in the uniforms of the brave fighters…oh, I forgot! They didn’t wear uniforms!
Bullet to the head? That was the solution not that long ago for ununiformed combatants.
Seriously, my credits to the MPs at Guantanamo Bay. A brave lot.
OK, here’s an idea. Let’s just do a prisoner exchange between those people in Gitmo and the US prisoners being held in Al Qaeda prison camps. Oh, wait.
OK, then lets release the Gitmo detainees so that they can be tried and receive due process in an Al Qaeda court. Oh, wait.
OK, then the least we can do is return them to the Islamic Republic of Al Qaeda, their country of origin. Oh, wait.
Screw it. Let’s just re-arm them, and turn them loose on Australia, Ireland, the Philippines, Sweden, Bahrain, Paraguay, and elsewhere.
Not likely. It gets a bit redundant, but you’ll please notice that only retirees or unemployed leftists and losers (sorry for the redundancy) can take the day off for this sort of thing. I don’t see a whole lot of retired looking folks there.
And how could you possibly think that the scum at the Gitmo barbed-wire hotel are just regular folks ripped from their homes by the evil US military? I know what these clowns think, I just can’t get my head around how you get to that thinking.
Only problem with that is you end up with a bunch of dead hajis, and no idea where the leadership is at. The old rule of “take no prisoners” was used in the old days when leaders were found at the front of their armies, not hiding in a cave with a different goat for each day of the week, making propoganda and sending others to their deaths, but being unwilling to face it themselves.
I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with a few Gitmo guards. Talk about a thankless, stress filled job with no release valve. My hat goes off to them.
I have an idea-since the poor little savages are so mistreated by the big,bad American bullies in uniform, let’s put the dhimmis on the inside to look after the poor mistreated wretches. That way they will all be where they belong.
And I am sure that 50 million people worldwide turned out for this right?
The greatest untold story of 2007 and 2008:
The absolute defeat of Al Qaeda in Iraq AND the abandonment of Al Qaeda by common Sunni muslims.
I guess the protest is a symptom of what reading Daily Kos does to your sense of reality, obligation to your country which guarantees- no matter who is President- the right to protest, even when it borders on treason and sedition.
My own opinion of them as “Americans”? They are more toxic than any version of Agent Orange.
I wonder if the dinner I had last nite stacks up to the cuisine the holy warriors at Gitmo ate last nite.
My husband and I recently had windows installed in our house and the salesrep served in Iraq and was stationed at GITMO. The story he told about how scared the detainees were of the dog (German Shepherd) they had was hilarious. Basically, the dog had a toy that she loved and the troops would hide her toy from her but before placing it in the hiding spot, they would rub the toy against the bars of the cells so the scent would be there as she went to search for it. Well, he told us that the detainees were scared sh!tless because they thought the dog was after them… grant it they were behind bars but they didn’t know she was looking for her toy. They thought she was checking them out. Oh it was funnier when he told it.
He was a nice guy. Great salesperson too. We went with them instead of the other window company we got a quote from.
Why don’t we resolve this by sending all of the current batch to a contractor among the Northern Alliance folks in Afganistan – I am sure they will take care of their needs.
All things together this is becoming a strong arguement for a change in the ROE regarding prisoners.
Someone need’s to spray them with deer urine and ship them into a vast forest. No hunter’s will shoot them but I’d love to see what the buck’s would do.
Question for all:
Does anybody know a soldier serving in Gitmo that would be willing to receive “Any Soldier” letters to hand out?
It would be wonderful if we could send letters of support to those serving at Gitmo. Letting them know that there are those that appreciate the hard job they do.
On January 11th, 2008 at 12:14 pm,
That’s a great idea. Give these wingnuts a change to experience first hand the human refuse that is being held at Gitmo. I would love to see their reaction to what the female guard experienced and then see how they feel about Gitmo. That would be priceless.
Close Gitmo…shoot-to-kill all suspected terrorists instead!
(Wearing green today too.)
if no-one reported what these ______ were doing today who would know about it besides themselves? This is a media blackout I could live with.
Call it what it is – sedition.
My solution is just open the gates & herd them over to Castro’s side & let him deal with them. Only seems fair after what he sent us years ago.
Street-theater activists are just bad actors who aren’t good-looking enough to be newscasters.
(Wearing green today too.)
Me too….I love the color of money…and it separates me from the idiot choice of color for today…orange.
I really like the idea of sending them all to Gitmo to serve those for whom they pine.
In a quintessentially liberal view of the world, “everybody deserves a job!”
And these people, I’d have to say, are perfect suited to being/playing terrorists and should be paid accordingly.
Where are the C-4 vests?!
I think they all look like John Kerry.
LOL
Seriously, Gitmo stories always make me smile! Who would of thought indefinite detention and waterboarding could be so outlandishly hilarious!
God bless America.
Martyrdom, we’ve been told, is the ultimate payoff.
I am always amazed that so many (presumably) adults have so much time to dedicated to demostrate against every injustice, both real and imagined. Don’t these people have jobs, bills, families, responsibilities?
These people look like typical professional stundents in their well into their 30’s who are working on yet another masters degree in something useful like sociology or womens studies.
The protestors are all “Politically Correct” in their feelings. Unfortunately they don’t understand what the term means.
“Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media–which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end!”
If they are too dangerous to let go, and if the rest of the world hates GITMO so much, the only solution is to have a quick military hearing, the only thing needing proof being that they were out of uniform combatants and therefore under Geneva Conventions executable, and then we execute them by firing squad. No, I’m not kidding (although it won’t ever happen). Then we can look at the liberals, shrug and say – you left us no choice. Hope you’re happy. No more Gitmo.
Take no prisoners works fine if we are willing to fight a scorched earth, kill everyone war. If your enemy knows you are going to kill them anyway, they have no reason not to fight to the death. It is a commitment we won’t make. It is a level of brutality that we won’t accept. It is a level of ferocity that we won’t tolerate. America has been feminized. The sheep are in control. I thought we were entering an era again where it was a good thing to a be a shepherd or sheepdog, but alas, not so. The sheep are running the pasture. Gotta say though, I won’t shed any tears when the wolves thin the heard a bit until the shepherds and sheepdogs get there.
I thought the Ringling Brothers weren’t going to let you near the computer anymore.
Today’s Friday!
Yeah, I guess you are right. No need to be up in arms about our troops having feces, urine and semen thrown at them. The ire you manage to come up with is for the detainees… Surprise!!! And of course, you have more knowledge about why they are being detained and you alone know for how long. How long is too long? How about those that were released only to return to living life the jihad way?
Spare me.
The ireThe sympathyIf I didn’t love the Huskers, I couldn’t be a Nebraskan (even in Virginia). I think it’s the state law.
30 pcs of silver your post #38 sounds like something a GI would do. Would love to hear straight from the veteran that served there I would probably be on the ground from laughing.
I am wearing red today (as I do every Friday) to honor the men and women in uniform that allow me to live in the greatest country on earth free to sleep in my bed each night without fear of these very dangerous deranged people. Thanks to all those that serve and a special thank you for those that do or have watched the wild animals at Gitmo.
I noticed that none of them are wearing womens panties on their heads. What, no support for the abu graib prisoners?
Nothing a little water boarding before you shoot them can’t fix.
I’ve said before that I think Gitmo has become a problem and should be closed. But let me make it very clear that I do not support freeing even one of the detainees.
Try them. Sentence them. Execute them if that’s the decision. But do something that keeps them from being able to do us harm and takes away the argument that the camp is contrary to what this country stands for.
I say it that way because it’s not just the orange-utans who are making that case. Those folks, as far as I’m concerned, can replace the Gitmo detainees after its empty.
Sorry to resort to name calling, but sausage you’re an ignoramus.
Maybe these protesters would like to adopt the inmates at Gitmo. We’ll see how long their heads remain intact.
I agree with #62 about trying these terrorists already. I am no expert in the legal situation that our government faces, but if these prisoners weren’t abiding by the Geneva Conventions, then why should we treat them as well as we do?
I think we should treat them with all the respect they treat our guys with when captured.
No thanks, aj. I’d rather not find body parts scattered throughout the streets of my neighborhood.
Sharks take care of that navy.
yummy.
Well heck, let’s just put them through a wood chipper.
Feet first.
Er, the protesters, not the Gitmo captives – that would be cruel and unusual punishment.
A while back I suggested that we solve Gitmo by having an “Adopt a Terrorist Program”. What would happen is that we would take the names and addresses of as many people as we can who are protesting Gitmo. Then we shut down Gitmo, randomly choose the appropriate number of protesters to match the number of detainees, and show up at their homes with a Gitmo detainee. The get to keep him for 90 days. At the end of 90 days he will move on to another Gitmo protester’s home.
Disclaimer: The loyal, patriotic citizens of the United States of American shall not be responsible for any death, dismemberment, rape, torture, or bad smells any household member is subjected to by the assigned detainee.
Funny that they should choose the day after the one-year anniversary of the hugely successful surge.
To anyone who wishes to counter-protest, deep green is the opposite of orange. I’m wearing a deep-green sweater today in solidarilty to the troops. I hope others do, also.
I think they should close Guantanamo as well…..
by bombing the crap out of it with the inmates still inside.
It should be remembered that these are the same people who scream and hide under rocks when bad guys fly fuel and human bombs into skyscrapers.
One wonders how great their lives would be if other humans with courage didn’t stand between their hidey hole and those who would lovingly slit their throats till their heads came off and write poetry about exactly how to do it.
The cowardly self righteous, death in a tuxedo.
Theroc5156, I posted a better idea earlier, herd them out the gate & let Castro deal with as a return gift for those he sent us when he emptied his jails & asylums.
If we shoot all of these wannabe terrorist on the battlefield as we get them. Then by procces of elimnation the last ones standing on their side would be their leaders. So why not shoot them all?
The purpose of war is simple. It is to kill your enemy. Not set them up in a country club for life and take care of their whims.
The truth will set these protesters free of the euphoria that makes them think America is the cause of all evil in the world and the terrorists are somehow having their “rights” violated.
In a perfect world, these hip, young, smarter-than-you-and-I protesters would actually visit the battlefield and make an assessment of the enemy based on fact, not an idealistic “warrior poet” view that has been foisted upon their impressionable minds by the MSM bleeding hearts amd moonbats with Euro-Dhimmi mentalities (like sausage).
One GAC through enemy territory and the associated high pucker factor ought to be enough to scare some sense into them regarding the innocence of these “detainees”. Then again, it is a shame that the truly gruesome and horrific “treatment” of our very own soldiers by these “detainees” and their ilk isn’t enough to break through the mental block these protesters suffer from.
Boomer #60. There is no doubt in my mind that he would not have had you on the floor laughing. The appt., started at 6:00 and he didn’t leave until 10:30… It doesn’t take that long to show us window samples and complete an order form.
He had endless stories to tell.
I guess I disappointed sausage by highlighting the good ole’fun our GIs had, albeit at the expense of the detainees. Perhaps, he was hoping for more somber news (i.e., another Abu Gharaib).
Wait a minute — could you hang a “human shield” poster on the girl in the front? Ahh, thanks, I knew I’d seen her before.
What about those that don’t want to be released from GITMO to the Religion of
Peacepieces?More here.
You know, the way they act, you’d almost believe that they actually care about human rights instead of advancing socialist totalitarianism.
Appropriate response: Tough toenails muzzie boy. Should have thought about that before you went all jihad on us.
Of course, the MoonLoons defend these “detainees” by saying “Wouldn’t you throw feces, urine, and stale semen at the guards if you had been kept in captivity?”
It can always be turned around on Americans. But that is the mindset of juveniles who are angry and alienated from themselves.
Many of these protestors claim to be “spiritual people”. Ya. With their
lofty tattoos lined up right above the butt crack. (Hat tip George Carlin)
And with their “appropriate” use of drugs. And the philosophies and religions of people they do not understand (you know, the hand clasping, bead wearing, *huddists from groovy metropolitan areas of the 50 states).
We’ll see what credit they take when the prison closes. And the next one opens unseen by the public in every respect. At least Bush and Cheney had the stones to leave it open to the world. What will the Dhimmis do if they are elected?
Bottom line: it made a difference and it helped stop the killing, breaking the spirit of the jihadis who had become so brazen before they began dying in combat by the thousands in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I do get jihadi anger. As soldiers it’s pretty clear why they must be damned angry at their fates.
I’d be pissed too if my so-called leader led tens of thousands of us into a slaughter pen in Iraq and Afghanistan– and remained far removed from the field of battle.
The jig is up for armed Islam. Wasn’t pretty. And Gitmo was nasty to put it mildly. However, Bush had the nads to pay the butcher’s bill instead of waiting for more Americans to be slaughtererd.
Obama thinks of himself as a Lincoln. He is a delusional Yale educated liberal social democrat.
Bush will be considered when it is all said and done— and i said this same thing on this blog when the Surge debate was going on— this War made Bush the second greatest President since Lincoln on changing the Nation’s habit of “not fighting” for its own survival.
Roosevelt and others who presided over war time didn’t face the same kind of challenges of an “unwilling” population and a contentious active and retired military leadership corps that Lincoln and Bush had to face— plus the extent of traitorous bureaucrats in cabinets and agencies as B and L.
Just my opinion. of course!
Where were all these idiots marching for the treatment of Gitmo detainees when Cuban dissidents were getting arrested and beat up for wanting to march on Human Rights Day??
Hypocrites.
Maybe snausange thinks it’s torture to have the dog running down the cell block.
It is.
For the dog.
Sorry I missed it,
I was wearing a black T shirt with a 1971 Hemi Cuda, a Houston astros cap and Vans tennis shoes.
Each of these nutballs should be given the opportunity to take one of these the Gitmo detainees home with them. They could adopt one and take full responsibility for them. They could have them in for dinner, prepare special meals, pay medical bills, cover their wives, girl friends and daughters in tents and have a grand old time. Hot damn. What a great idea.
Another brillant idea… Let’s send these professional protesters down to Gitmo and let them move in with the detainees. They could just pop in and have a nice little visit… maybe a spot of tea and cookies.
It’s so nice to be able to protest without knowing all of the information and to do it from the safety of your own country.
I also wonder if the professional protesers have jobs, pay bills, commute, go to the grocery store, etc. like the rest of the world.
They also seem to come out in droves during spring break.
Nice to have time on your hands or to have mummy and daddy foot your bills.
Helene #86
If I were them, I’d be leary of drinking the tea after reading the above letter MM received.
