Interesting how he says that it was the Republican strategy to hurry up and claim some sort of victory and trickle the troops home to take focus off of Iraq.
The focus is off Iraq b/c the Dems have no solid ground to stand on. They have owned defeat and the subject is no longer a winner for them.
I propose that the Republicans (those who actually believe complete victory in Iraq is in our best interest) have to bring the subject of Iraq back to the forefront of hot political subjects to be debated upon in the primaries. Then pound the Dem nominees with it in the general election run.
As for the clown who wrote the article, he probably recognized that more people may see it if he included your name. Google search and such.
Don’t let it bother you. This guy speaks for a minority of about one in Lubbock, much less the rest of West Texas. If you hadn’t posted this, maybe 3 people in the whole world would have read it.

Actually, I found the Steve Finley from Lubbock, Texas, intrepid MM researcher that I am. He can be found writing about 12 music reviews on amazon.com, and his reviews are as dry as dust. His real name is Stephen Finley. He claims to be the guitarist in an Irish band and says he and his spouse run a music school. Apparently he has lots of time to let his imagination run wild.
As for his specific comments about MM, they are so juvenile that they make the comments from the guy at The New Republic sound mature. That was the guy who complained that Michelle Malkin showed up at his office unannounced. As one of my colleagues at work said to me (and he loves John Edwards no less!): “that guy at the New Republic has got to be the only male in America who would complain that Michelle Malkin showed up at his office!”
To Mr. Finley, who says he is a musician, I would respond by quoting from the song “Light My Candle” (Rent musical): “Bah humbug”.

First, MM has been critical of the Bush administration for many of their decisions. I don’t think that qualifies as mindless Bush mouthpiece. You should try reading ALL her columns it might make you smarter. She calls it the way she sees it. Second, the word in Tagalog for women is “babae”, which looks like the word “babe”. It’s because Filipinas are the most beautiful women in the world. I know, I’m married to one. Third, we still have troops in Japan, and Germany fifty years after WWII, why aren’t you crying about that one? Fourth, the way you try to win this argument is to refer to her ethnicity and gender. Fifth, you’re right, you are the problem. As a Marine vet who served in Iraq, people like you don’t help us one bit Steve.
This over the top rhetorical shrillness is typical of the Left, which is why I stopped talking with them years ago. Criticize Bush vehemently, without exception, on as many issues as you want, and on just one item you give the guy a barely passing grade, and I guarantee instantly you will not only be labeled a “shill,” but damned as a barely qualified member of the human race, if that.
Bush, of course, will never understand this. Indifferent to, contemptuous of, those who have steadfastly supported him, he glides forward, serene in his sense of moral superiority and entitlement. He never fails to think he is doing “good” and “right,” and thus the Left will come around at some point, so very soon, and announce to the world: “You know, that Bush is all right. Yep, I think next time I’m going to vote Republican.”
No greater folly can be imagined. Weep for the future of this country.

MM, you should look at Mr. Finley’s small-minded effrontery as a huge compliment: because out of the entire universe of conservative superstars, from Limbaugh to Noonan, yours is the name he realized would attract for him, and his lack-luster invective, the greatest amount of on-line attention.
In essence, he is validating the fact that you and your sites, this one and Hot Air, not only set the agenda but are the standard for on-line political discussion!

Its no shortage of amusement to me every time our government talks about the necessity of their government (the Iraqis) to fix problems when General Petreaus has proven once again what Reagan and many other vile Conservatives have said over and over.
The government is not the solution, government is the problem.
The surge has worked not just because needed reinforcements were sent to Iraq but because local people were empowered and took charge of their own problems and fixed them, sometimes with great sacrifice.
They took up arms and fought for it!
The central Iraqi government had little to do with it.
Iraq is now growing a stable responsive government from the ground up instead of the clouds down, like they should be and like has to happen, for it to work.
Conservative leaders here should point to success in Iraq not only from the surge aspect but absolutely from the success of Conservative core values point of view.
The recipe for success there and here starts with the individual acting locally and that effort is only hindered if not stopped by the kind of authoritarian nanny government liberals want here and wrongly thinks will fix anything there.
Mr. Finley reminds me of a saying we had back in college in the 60s: “What you are speaks so loudly, I can’t hear what you’re saying”.
Those of us out in the hinterlands who are very capable of thinking and reasoning know beyond any shadow of a doubt that our lovely Michelle is anything but a shill. She’ll thump anyone deserving of criticism, left, right or middle and all points beyond. President included. I’m sure he deservedly shows the scars from some of her comments as outlined above.

Michelle, you are anything but a shill. The simple fact that these “feminists” are so incredibly intimidated by a woman such as yourself who is a triple threat. Intelligence, beauty, and an in-demand public career.
All these Liberals, who supposedly fight for “Minority Rights” only fight so far until they go up against someone who does not need their entitlements, and does not need their hand-outs and cannot be talked into having them as their caregivers and nannies. Yet they are permitted to get away with it. These comments are allowed to remain on the websites that are considered to be their icons…Kos, Dem Underground, HuffPo…not a single moderator takes thim down, nor do they correct the offending commenters behaviour. They consider it funny, a badge of honour. Some even think that we do it, thus it is ok for them to do it.
It doesn’t matter who their target is, either. Whether it is Alan Keys, COndoleeza Rice, Colin Powell, or our very own gracious and beautiful hostess, the lovely and intelligent, Michelle Malkin, they have no shame. It ranges from standard gutter racism that you hear on school yards to outright violence where they advocate actually raping these women and killing them.
These trolls here have no shame either. They were fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to post their comments and anti-Americanism here, I suppose to allow the other side a chance to prove what idiots they are, and do they at least have the dignity to treat Michelle with the respect she deserves? No. Just today, one of our trolls made a remark about her. A pretty petty one. One that purely showed what a troll and anti-American punk he was. It has happened from pretty much each of thim in some form or another. Why? well, because all Liberals feel it is their God given right to post anywhere they want to anyway as it is, and to keep them off any site, will anger them. You know…the think it has something to do with their First Ammendment Rights, even though it doesn’t. One of these days, one of them are actually going to read that Ammendment and boy, are they going to be in for a surprise.
Anyway, they just can’t help themselves. Liberals cannot admit it. Even when they re-read what they just wrote and posted themselves, they refuse to admit that what they say and post is hatefilled, hateful, racist and violent and sexist. You will be hard pressed to find a COnservative or Republican site of renown where that is seen or tolerated, but I will tell you now, go to any of those sites I have mentioned above, set a timer, and I will be willing to bet, in the first 5-10 minutes of reading the comments of any of them you will find any number of racist, sexist, violent comments towards blacks, asians, oor women…bonus points if they involve Bush or any other Republican or Conservative.
