Fixed that for you.

It does come about that, with the exception of Huckleberry hound, anybody is better than what the Dems have.

Ugh. I see the not-surprising results of your poll.

Are we willing to ride our conservative bona fides right off a cliff for four years?

Do we really want another 4 years of double-digit inflation like the Carter administration because McCain doesn't support immigration reform enough?

Do we want to throw Iraq under the bus AND CAUSE THE DEATHS OF THOUSANDS because McCain once voted against a tax cut because it didn't decrease spending enough?

COME ON. Yes, it would be great if we had a wonderful conservative candidate who the media adored.

THIS YEAR, WE DON'T.

Let's not martyr ourselves on the alter of Reagan just because this cycle's crop isn't perfect!

CNN and credibility? lol, good one.

I agree, AJ. So, here is my thoughts on what CNN stands for...

C = Credibility
N = Not
N = Needed

Just look at their coverage.

Monday AM. Romney and the Huckster on CNBC: "we're turning hard left to suck up to the Michigan voters. We're going to bail out auto manufacturers and do something to make sure that their union contracts are so wonderful that....."

Freely paraphrased, but that's the general idea. (Excuse me while I puke some more)

I rather object to the poll choice between electability and principle.

I mean really, between an electable candidate with no conservative principles (mostly what we get offered anyway), and a candidate with reliable conservative principles who can't get themselves elected, what is there to choose?

It's a lose-lose proposition.

One has to have both.

Duncan Hunter is an interesting study.

He's solid on principle and has all the right things to say and a consistent record.

But he just doesn't seem to have whatever it takes to get really popular on a national scale. Beats me. I think he's a great guy. But ...

By contrast, the popularity of Huckleberry and McPain is just plain scary.

Ok, the polls really don't say that much, because they don't account for the electoral college.

And of course a CNN poll will predict a democratic victory.

And let me add that while I believe that the right to vote also includes the right to abstain from voting if one isn't excited about the candidates, doing so reminds me of what my dad has always called "cutting off your nose to spite your face"

The big problem with polls like this is it gives people wide-open options. And the reality is that a lot of times we're casting votes against one person as much as for another.

Come November, you'll be presented with candidate A or B. Now at the moment, with a wide open field I may not lean towards McCain or Romney or even Huck, but if presented with a final choice btwn one of them vs. Hillary, Obama or Edwards, you damn well better believe I will cast my vote and it will be for whomever is on the republican ticket!

That's a tough poll to answer... because I think "conservative principles" are most important (in the primary season), but I would go out and vote for any of these guys over ANY of the Democrats. I'm sorry, but I'd rather stick a liberal like Huckabee in the White House with an R next to his name, then the fundamentally bad (and I would argue, largely evil... and I'm serious) people that make up the Dem candidates. It's sort of like "do I want to take a chance of screwing up the country, or guarantee it gets screwed up, possibly irreparably ?" Some folks will stay home if shamnesty McCain is the nominee... but at least McCain has caved to our pressure in the past, and is claiming to still understand us. Whether that would prove to be true or not, the Dems are promising citizenship (read: voting rights) to illegals. It's all about a chance vs. a guarantee of bad things happening. I'd rather take the chance than flush the country down the toilet by staying home on "principle".

Rudy is a good choice. I support Fred, but he has not shown the passion needed to get the job done if elected. This is not an acting gig.

I hope Florida comes out in force to support Rudy or Fred and send the others packing. I think Rudy needs a blow out in f=Florida to get into the race. He needs that fire going into super Tuesday.

Conservative_Cat,

Oh, the word is out. They criticize him, 9/11,9/11, like it doesn't matter... the MSM (spit) won't even show the footage for fear of the reaction. America remembers... America remembers the Alamo, the Maine, Pearl Harbor, Beirut, & the Cole... oh yes, America remembers. CNN can wish it away, but America is angry... very, very angry.

Rudy is viable.
