An anti-jihad comic book

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 17, 2008 02:10 PM

Darius LaMonica writes:

I wanted to let you know about the release of “Matamoros,” a comic book which was illustrated by John Cox of Cox & Forkum. I’m one of the co-writers of the book.

Its plot follows an American NCO who is wounded in the war, returns home to recuperate and then discovers a jihadist cell in NYC. You can read about the book and view a few sample pages at http://www.MatamorosComic.com…

…We’ve taken a serious and realistic approach to the book’s plot (e.g., we patterned the jihadist cell after a group called the “Islamic Thinkers Society” which is located in NYC and is an offshoot of the UK’s al-Muhajiroun).

Pop culture has essentially ignored the troops fighting the War on You-Know-Who and we’re trying to change that with our book.

Check it out here.

Well, then, we need to go ahead and get to work on their defense fund, so they are ready for the “Hate America First” backlash that is probably coming down the pike.

    2×4 Ahh, how old school.

Nowdays it’s cluestick, clue-by-four, and clue bomb.

The ones with BDS are in denial, even a clue bomb won’t help.

I have fantasized about sending the CIA analytical section into Iraq and Afghanistan, embedded with our military. Linguistic and cultural immersion. ;-)

Thanks for confirming the meaning. My daughter has a friend whose last name is “Matamoros”. I thought they were just kidding about that. By the way, they’re not white for those of you going into a PC tizzy.

Haven’t checked the site or the artwork, but the idea for battling the MSM for the hearts and minds of Americans in this kind of pop culture way is terrific. Comic books (called ‘graphic novels” by the serious afficianados these days), animation of every sort, anything along these lines is very good ammo: these venues now particularly have tremendous appeal and are potentially great for winning people back to the right. When ideas get squashed by superficial left-wing eye candy, don’t bitch about superficial left-wing eye candy, just add some substantial right-wing eye candy of your own to your aquashed idea and watch it come back to life and return the favor to the liberal agenda. In fact, this is an exceptionally good move, obvious though it may seem on the surface.

I checked out the comic, and can hope they start going to the various Sci-fi cons.
AdventureCon in Knoxville is pretty big every year, and they always have comic book artists showing their work. (Please no trekkie jokes)
