It is very likely that this lawyer will be facing discipline from the Illinois State Bar. In the State where I live (hint-Ahnold), if an attorney is convicted of a felony, there is almost always some sort of discipline enacted with the State Bar (where I work as an Investigator). This lawyer’s troubles are not over.

By the way, this is a local story so the lack of MSM national coverage is understandable. With some prodding from Matt (Blackfive) the local media did cover it. Thanks to the internet the story went viral, that’s what we do.
