Hillary and the slum lord…and “Individual H”

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 25, 2008 08:59 AM

Well, well, well. It was only a matter of time before someone dug up a photo of Hillary posing with the very “slum lord” Democrat donor she attacked Barack Obama for having business dealings with in 2005 and having a relationship with for 17 years.

The photo, video clip, and transcript of NBC’s Matt Lauer raising the issue with Clinton are here.

Bill’s gonna have another purple-y purple fit.

What goes around, comes around.

***

Reverse Spin has more on Hillary’s relationship with Democratic lawyer/fundraiser Myron “Mike” Cherry, “Individual H” in the Rezko indictment.

No they speculated and wondered if it was Photoshoped and then said that NBC had confirmed its authenticity before questioning Hillary about it on the Today Show.

But still it bit Hillary in her broadest point. Too funny.

Still, if there is anything less presidential than someone who faults another person for an act but who commits that same very act themselves…

Oh wait. Bill Clinton. Blue Dress. Intern. Hmmm. Okay, there is something less presidential. Of course, they are both named Clinton.

I noticed that the rezko/obama info is still up at Hillary’s warroom, hillaryis44.org, where they pretend their not paid by the Clinton organization and post incriminating mildly exaggerated items about Obama. I’m just not sure how anyone creates a website like that with a straight face, ignoring Clinton pardons, Clinton jailed fundraisers, Clinton dead associates and dead lawyers, shenanigans in the Oval Office. That’s not even going back to the early 90’s for crap.

Obama’s going to lose unless he gets feisty and uses some of the low hanging fruit.

Skeletons in her closet may prove to be beyond repair.

A group that lobbies for needle exchanges, for allowing more immigrants with HIV/AIDS to legally enter the country, and for condom distribution in prisons received a $303,000 federal earmark pushed by Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.).

That was one of 261 earmarks Clinton personally helped usher through Congress. That’s more earmarks than any other member of Congress seeking the presidency, according to an analysis by the watchdog group Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW).

This specific appropriation is from the Department of Justice and is aimed at fighting methamphetamine use - that’s what the Gay Men’s Health Crisis Center is supposed to do with the taxpayer-funded money.

No, but she does have a much longer relationship with a lying, philanderer who was only the second president in US history to face impeachment proceedings.

Years ago Rush had a parody of HRC and Whitewater wherein she says she doesn’t recall and has no memory of anything at all. Convenient amnesia and parsing of words serve the Clinton well, along with their allies in the press. At least the paper of record adores her and McCain. How likely would a Hillary/McCain ticket be if he doesn’t get the GOP nod? Can the dems patch things up between Obambi and the witch? Or would shyster Edwards get veep nod?

Let’s talk about some names from the glorious Clinton past. Matt Lauer won’t do it but it’s worth a mention. Let’s start with Carlos A. Vignall. He was convicted in federal court of cocaine trafficking and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. By coincidence, on January 20, 2001, Bill Clinton suddenly decided to commute Vignall’s sentence. How did Bill Clinton suddenly pluck some obscure two bit cocaine dealer out of the air and commute his sentence? Had Vignall, in prison, discovered a cure for AIDs or cancer? Nope, he didn’t do either. But one Hugh Rodham Clinton had been paid $200,000.00 to lobby for Vignall’s release. And Hillary said she knew nothing about it. Obama should bring it up. Matt Lauer will never do it. Neither will Hilaary sistahs Diane Sawyer and Katie Couric. And then that brings us to another name from the glorious Clinton past: one Almon Glass Braswell. Braswell was convicted of mail fraud and perjury and was under a criminal investigation for various farreaching frauds when on Jan. 20, 2001, Bill Clinton suddenly decided that Braswell was worthy of a pardon. Had Braswell found a cure for heart disease or pancreatic cancer? Nope. He had not. But he had one thing in his favor. Old buddy Hugh Rodaham had been paid $200,000.00 to secure Braswell’s freedom, and apprently Braswell got his money’s worth.

What Al Gore Really Said about the Internet (Snopes)
I stand by my prediction Al Gore will be the Democratic candidate for President in 2008.
While Gore has been reported to say “he wasn’t a candidate” neither did he make a “Sherman Statement”.

I see Edwards as going the distance, getting just enough delegates to keep either Clinton or Obama from “going over the top” with the result being a repeat of 1968 where a deadlock occurs and Al Gore is brought out as a “consensus” candidate.

My reasoning is Obama and Clinton have been slinging way too much mud at each other - which Democratic-leaning voters find a major turn-off and create grave concerns about either’s electability.

Keep in mind the GOP this year has the advantage of knowing who they’re up against.

To expound on the point I was making with the “Nixon Seats Bullets…” comment in #17, I was not implying that she was visibly sweating or unnerved by the “gotcha” moment - in fact, it was much to the contrary, she was very calm and collected and behaved as though she were expecting it.
My point was that the moment, which brought voters the live image of Hillary being confronted by the facts, galvanized voters’ perceptions of her as untrustworthy and distant in a manner reminiscent of Nixon’s debate with Kennedy, which cost Nixon the election because he came off as untrustworthy.
