Stimulating tax rebates for illegal aliens

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 30, 2008 09:46 AM

Everyone’s getting a ride on the stimulation-palooza bandwagon–including illegal aliens. Of course. Congress and the White House supposedly are sending the money to people so they can spend, spend, spend it to give the U.S. economy a jolt. What will the illegal aliens do with their rebates? Remittances, baby, remittances. Rep. Tom Tancredo, whom I noted earlier this morning was one of the 25 Republicans who voted against the economic stimulus boondoggle, blasts the new illegal immigration stimulus:

Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) today criticized the tax package passed by the Tom Tancredo Democrat-controlled Congress as a giveaway to illegal aliens. The package, among other shortcomings, would direct the Internal Revenue Service to issue checks of up to $600 to individuals and $1,200 to married couples, as well as rebates for any children. The legislation does not, however, contain any provision barring illegal aliens from taking advantage of these benefits.

“This package will stimulate one thing for certain: more illegal immigration,” said Tancredo. “It’s just the latest unfortunate example of American workers footing the bill for illegal aliens.”

The bill would allow so-called “Resident Aliens” to receive rebate checks. The Treasury department classifies someone as a “Resident Alien” based on how much time that person has spent in the United States. No proof of legal presence, however, is required. The IRS’ explanation of the term can be found at: http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc851.html

“Worse, a large portion of this money will just be sent back to the home countries of illegal aliens,” concluded Tancredo. “So it might stimulate someone’s economy – just not ours.”

The bill was considered under a procedure in the House of Representatives that did not allow for any opportunity to amend the bill to restrict payments to illegal aliens.

Will any GOP presidential candidate mention this?

Too much to ask.

Doesn’t surprise me. Create an “emergency” (a sluggish economy) and then step in to “fix” it. Once that is approved, throw in the special interest ideas, like rebates to illegals. How can an economy be in a recession if it’s growing each quarter? Want to fix an economy? Cut corporate taxes, personal income taxes, and deregulate businesses. I wonder what other surprises await us in this rebate fiasco.

The MSM has been trying for the last couple of years to make out nothing but gloom and doom for the economy and the next couple of months may prove them right. Until I see massive layoffs and people diving out of windows over the stock market dropping I don’t believe we have a problem worthy of a stimulus package.

This morning I was little disgruntled due to the voting illregularities in Florida, but to see this handout going to illegal invaders just sets me off. It does appear that those of us that qualify for the handout need to use the rebate to travel to DC to stage a modern day tea party.

In Order to mail a refund check they must have an address. All ICE needs to do it go pick them up and the check will never be cashed.
or it could be used to refund the ICE department for the expense of deporting their asses back home.

I’m thinking of starting a little side business, “Aliens-R-Us,” (or Étrangers r nous) where I would hire third-party coyotes to bring illegals in over the border. The normal price for transport would apply (of course), with the stipulation that I would then also receive a portion of their tax break/refund (just a portion; I’m not greedy). After this transaction I would then perform my civic duty and inform INS of their location - if they got shipped back (a big if), I could then possibly double-dip by bringing them over the border once again.

    I think it may work…

It won’t do anything for our country. That is why the government needs to get the heck out of the way and let the economy correct itself. I think we may be seeing the effects of Bush’s economic plans working a little too well. And now it is time for a correction but the government doesn’t want to let that happen. Well, BOO HOO. Everyone wants the good but they don’t want the bad. You want the gravy, you are going to get the grease, too. Thats how it works.

People are asking “what will happen next”? The answer is simple. As a socialist gets elected. Either McCan’t or a Democrat. We the American Citizen Taxpayer will be asked in the first part of 2009 to pay for tis rebate now being handed out. As taxes on buisneses, property, and income will all be increased.

We will see an additional tax to help pay for a health care system that favors ILLEGALS even more then it does now, with welfare lines getting longer and longer. Filling up with more hands out from ILLEGALS. American citizens will loose more jobs do to unscrupulous buisnesses who wil try to pay for theri tax increases with more substandard wage earners. A vicouse cycle that the Left in this country are so damned determined to create.

I am in favor of Blind Miules #17’s thought of having an updated version of the tea party. Although in stead of monopoly money might as well us the Dollar. George Sorros is working ever so hard to make it worthless internationally.

I think we should also push hard for a tax on all moneies transported and wired out of this country. Say a 100% tax to curb it from leaving here. This of coarse will never happen as the controllers in MExico will say it is a racially baised plan.

    So Viva La Revolution.

Just as soon as they lose an election over it. McCain (or any other politician) won’t change one iota if he thinks he can win with this position. As long as he believes that R’s will vote for him no matter what, he won’t change. And even then - I’m not sure he’d change. Core values.

Name the date and time, and count me in! I’ll pay for myself, because my wife and I work hard, and make too much money to earn a rebate. But I’m sure my SSN will pay the illegal who stole it his $600.

I am seriously considering giving up the 60+ hour work weeks, the countless hours of continuing education and certifcation, and taking a pay cut so that I: 1) do not have to give up all that which I work for back in taxes, and 2) I can get back the unearned entitlements that the goverenment wants to give me, but I don’t deserve.

Our politiians are going to continue leading this country into Socialism and Sharia until We the People show them that we have the power. The fight no longer is between Republicans and Democrats,or Conservatives and Liberals. The fight today must be between the People and the Politicians,There is no point complaining ,or writing letters and making phone calls(they will just be ignored). The one thing politicians cannot ignore is the vote that puts them OUT of office. As I’ve said many times and will continue to say-Two cycles,No incumbents.
We are all angry and worried about our future and our country’s future, but our so-called leaders have demonstated that all they care about is keeping their offices and the perks that go along with those offices.Their constant pandering is not saying “vote for me”,it is saying”don’t vote against me”.We must show the politicians that we will not tolerate their lies any longer;and we can only do this by voting them OUT of office.
Many people are calling for term limitations to solve the problem, unfortunately term limitations are a red herring because:
1-Mandated term limitations keep the power in the hands of the government, not in the hands of the electorate.
2-No one in office is going to vote himself out of his cushy life-style.
Vote them all out now,and next election vote them all out again.Let them know that they depend on us-not we on them.Much has been said here and elsewhere about “personal responsibility”,it is time for the electorate to take personal responsibility and stop rewarding the negative behavior of the politicians. They have been biting the hand that feeds them for entirely too long.
