DHS funds jihad sympathizer to lecture at Tufts U

Regardless of how noble the ends might be, government-funded programs often fail to achieve their stated objective. One such example has resulted in federally funded support of jihadists at Tufts University.
In 2006, Tufts’ Hillel received part of a $1.6-million Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grant to promote “inter-faith and intercultural dialogue.” The program’s intentions are noble and its goals laudable, since it is best to resolve conflict through dialogue.
But this past fall, Tufts’ Interfaith Initiative, “Pathways,” used its federal money to sponsor a dinner and dialogue by Edina Lekovic on “Women, Faith, and Women.”
The problem is that Lekovic is a radical Islamist sympathizer who has gone so far as to defend Osama bin Laden.
A former managing editor of “Al-Talib, a Muslim publication at UCLA, Lekovic was on the masthead when it published an editorial – signed by the Al-Talib staff – praising and defending Osama bin Laden.
The editorial stated, “When we hear someone refer to the great Mujahid, Osama bin Laden, as a ‘terrorist,’ we should defend our brother and refer to him as a freedom fighter; someone who has forsaken wealth and power to fight in Allah’s cause and speak out against oppressors. We take these stances only to please Allah.”
When confronted on national television about it, Lekovic initially denied any participation in the publication. Yet recently, she has admitted her involvement – claiming, however, that her position was insignificant, though it was listed as second highest on the masthead. She furthermore remained on the publication for the next three years and attributed the editorial to a printing mistake.

Why am I not surprised? The same school is having Kal Penn (Kumar and Taj) speak about why the youth vote should go to Obama. It is the metro Boston area…
I’m almost positive that the oath of office – to defend the Constitution of the United States against enemies, foreign and domestic, doesn’t mean capitulating and monetarily supporting the message of said enemies. I could be wrong.

the problem with all of these people are their lack of principles. their refusal to defend their own words amazes me. and these are the people who are winning over the hearts and minds of the younger generation…it’s sickening.

You took the words out of my mouth. NONE of the DHS money should go to funding anything at any college. It would be well-advised to work on defending and seeking out jihadists, rather than promoting their speeches.
It was a waste of time and money before; it still is.
I NEVER wanted the DHS…I knew it was a scam from the first day – along with the Patriot Act.
You think someone would buy a clue how diversity is another word for national suicide, but of course this is our Government we are talking about. Except for the military, which always seems to get their mission done despite the red tape and draconian rules and regulations we operate under (thanks to Congress and their constant meddling). It is amazing anything gets done at all by the other branches of the Federal Government.
Plain and simple, the “dialog” should start with:

ACHefty – unfortunately, that is what will be said to anyone that opposes the “dialog” by Lekovic.
Think she’ll get a pie in the face, or have to speak over a crowd of giggling students, or have to defend herself from activist students rushing the stage?
No. Because despite how vile this woman is or how her statements reflect her complete contempt for freedom, true Americans will let her speak. She is entitled. Whatever she wants to say, fine. I object to the funding of her anti-freedom rhetoric with my taxes.
I wish this administration would grow some stones and stand up to this waste. If she wants to get paid for advancing socialism at the expense of freedom, let Soros fund it.
This is madness! We are literally funding our own destruction! DHS, here’s an idea: rather than waste time and energy on
reviewinggrant applications and cutting checks, why not set aside a portion of your tax-payer funded budget to direct deposit into the accounts of the terrorists’ front-men? (I’m sure CAIR would be up for the job!) That way the terrorists, those wascally wascals, could get our money sooner and continue their work of planning and plotting our downfall unencumbered! An African-American member of the Minuteman Project who was harassed and taunted with the “N-word” during a speech at Columbia University has filed police reports as the first step in a lawsuit against the New York City institution.
As WND reported, angry protesters led by a radical open-borders group hurled racial insults and turned their backs on Marvin Stewart during an Oct. 4 speech hosted by the campus’s Young Republicans Club. Stewart was followed by Minuteman founder Jim Gilchrist, who spoke for about seven minutes before the protesters violently stormed the stage, forcing an abrupt end to the event.
