I certainly understand the issues some folks have with Sen. McCain's platform. I don't agree with everything he's done, either. I, personally, think Romney would do a better job on the economic front. But I like McCain's foreign policy stand. McCain/Romney? Romney/McCain? Whoever the GOP nominee is in November has to be better for the country than either of the Dem candidates. Remember, the next president could appoint one or two Supreme Court justices, etc. Also, as I've mentioned before, the presidency is not the single most important object, here. All of the House and part of the Senate is up for grabs. Don't get discouraged or, heaven forbid, sit out the election over one candidate. If conservatives don't care for Sen. McCain, then go ahead and vote for him AND conservative House and Senate candidates. Remember the big picture, here. We're not just voting for President. We're voting for a government.

Romney is indeed in great peril of going the way of Fred Thompson if her does not get out there over the next twenty-four hours and pound the crap out of McCain and his record for being a Democrat stuffed into a Republican suit. He needs to get out there and challenge McCain about how he wanted to leave the party only two election cycles ago, and how he was seriously considering being John Kerry's running mate, how McCain had felt "honored" by being considered for that position and such. He needs to plant the seed of doubt as to whether or not this "Maverick" can be trusted not to switch parties after becoming President, thereby abandoning everyone who trusted in him and voted for him all because McCain was making a point or trying to get revenge or whatever his little vengeful mind would be thinking. He needs to remind everyone about how many times in the last 7+ years McCain went behind the President's and the Republican Leadership's back to work closed door deals with the Democrats against the better interests of the Party and what the President was attempting to accomplish and only benefitted the opposition.

Most importantly he needs to get out there and dispel this myth of McCain's making that McCain is already the nominee. There are too many in this country that will buy into it because there are too many people who are lemmings. The MSM know that as well as McCain and thus the reason he has adopted that tactic. The MSM want McCain in there because they know that he doesn't have a chance to make it on his record, and in one on one debates against the Democrat nominee, he will get his clock cleaned and lose out on the chance to have the Presidency remain in Republican control which cannot be lost during this point and time in American history.

To have Mitt do anything less. will most certainly blow it for him come Tuesday, leaving nothing left of his campaign but a dust covered smoking hulk of what was our last chance of having someone with decent scruples and morals getting the shot at taking on an insane woman or an empty suit.

On Coulter voting for Hillary... Of course she's anti-Clinton but, realize for a moment that 50% of this country ISN'T anti-Clinton, and they're buying Hillary's horsecrap hook, line, and sinker. What Ann suggested is that, if elected, the REPUBLICAN part (not composed of McCain and his liberal-minded compadres) would FIGHT her plans tooth and nail. The "grassroots" conservatives would fight. The "social conservatives" would fight. THAT is what Ann was saying, and you know what, she's completely right.

We might not get excited about fighting an "Obama" or a "McCain" Presidency, but we'd, sure as the sun rises in the east, sound the wr drums the minute Hillary (and Bill) took office.

Now back to the current discussion... I personally can't understand WHY anyone would support McCain. Why didn't he switch parties? Because the voters in AZ would have kicked his butt out of Washington, and he happens to like that cushy job. Would he switch parties as President? Most likely he wouldn't, but heck, he's running for Prez now on the most liberal platform this side of Huckabee! He wouldn't need to switch. Once elected, he can do what he wants for 4 years and there's little anyone could say or do to stop him.

Romney might have just now found his "conservative roots", but as an proven, effective business leader, just so long as he continues to listen to what we, the Conservative Masses, have to say, I'll support him.

I don't need to bash McCain; I've already seen the damage G.W. Bush has done to the GOP cause with his "compassionate conservative" ideas. McCain would only be the same, or even worse since he's consistently opposed Bush's better ideas (tax cuts). Of course the MSM loves McCain; he opposes Republican ideas too! Are the citizens of this country really too stupid to see this?

PJ, great post! LMAO!

However, what you have stated will more than likely occur.

There will be no more flags, pledges, patriotic songs, military, etc.

We are in the beginning stages of no more USA.

Therefore as a punishment; NO MORE TAXES from me and I hope others will follow.

1. How can you claim to have the Straight Talk Express when in Florida and California you misrepresented Mitt Romney statement’s on Iraq withdrawal timetables?
Yes, Romney called for private timetables and milestones. But before Romney made his comments, McCain had already called for a set of public benchmarks for Iraq:

"One of the areas we really want to work on is setting some benchmarks, so the American people and Congress will know if we're making progress or not," McCain said.

If Iraqis don't meet the benchmarks his resolution would set, "I think everyone knows the consequence," McCain said. "Then you have to examine your mission. But it's important that we know whether they're meeting benchmarks or not." – CNN January 26, 2007
Is McCain now flipflopping on what he said just a year ago? How can he condemn Romney when it's very clear from his comments that he intended his benchmarks to be public so "the American people and Congress will know if we're making progress or not." It is also very clear he intended to have deadlines (timetables); otherwise, at what point could he say his benchmarks had not been met?

If you are for benchmarks and deadlines, how can you be against milestones and timetables? It's all a dishonest game of semantics on the part of McCain.
