The problem concerning this particular issue is that history ended in 1992, according to the left, anyway. That means it’s time to stop all this nonsense about unit cohesion and combat effectiveness and start social experiments with the military as the unwilling guinea pigs.

As a former squad leader (Vietnam era) combat Marine I can tell you with all candor that you do NOT want any homosexual entanglements in the field, as this will cause a breakdown of the group dynamic which is your best weapon, and your surest way to stay alive when the steel starts flying.

Success in small unit engagements, in particular, depend on a group loyalty, and would suffer in their efficaciousness if suborned by a “I must protect my lover” mentality. And please, don’t belabor me with allusions to Attic Greeks and the Trojans…

Berkeley has contributed more to the US national defense through technology invented at the universty and Lawrence Berkeley Lab than DeMint’s entire state of South Carolina.

I am quite sure that the Berkeley City Council had little to do with it. In fact, if they could, I would wager that they would find away to try to stop that as well.

The citizens of Berkeley feel that the Marines violate basic human rights by excluding homosexuals. Why should they tolerate that?

That headline almost makes it sound like a military operation. Those clowns in Berzerkistan would probably wet themselves if faced by a real military force like our Marines.

And we Marines have a few other names for sailors as well … … but don’t ever let members of some other service get in the middle of sailors and marines ribbing each other when both are present … because they will find out that they just took them both on at the same time
