I am having difficulty considering McCain as our candidate. I was for Fred Thompson and with this muddled up caucus system and delegate counting I am,like many Americans, confused over how candidates get nominated. To top it off, I am upset with Ann Coulter's comment about even considering Hillary (I am a big Coulter fan, but I am sure many people don't understand her style of humor). Is she being sarcastic or does she really mean she'd even remotely consider helping/voting for Shillary. I want to write in my vote, but will I be allowed to do that? In my heart, I just can't roll over and vote for McCain but it looks like we in the vast right wing conspiracy are gonna have him shoved down our throats. To quote someone on Newbusters, "It's time to get scrappy with the donkeys!"

McCain was just shown in MA saying that if he is elected “he will get OBL and bring him to justice”
But he would not use a waterboard. He has no problem with killing, just with waterboarding. Plus no doubt he would turn on any soldier who captured him. He would be one scary Comander in Chief to the military.

The scariest - for sure!

And we all know WHO WOULD BE ON TRIAL and who would be the STAR WITNESS WITH AMNESTY and a HIDDEN WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM on some millionaire hide-away.

For sure.

I won't do that to any of the military or to any of the Border Patrol, or to Sheriff Joe Arpaio, either.

Every president says he has no litmus test - it’s a standard response
So since he has a standard response, why ask him the question or assume he would not put a liberal on the court. In other words the whole premise is rendered mute, by the standard response.

I think you meant "moot", and I usually don't pick over these things, however, the difference here is important, and is not silent.

McCain will have a litmus test - and we need to consider it carefully.

Do you really think he will pick judges who would overturn:

McCain Feingold

McCain Edwards

McCain Anti-Torture Bill

McCain Kennedy

McCain Lieberman

McCain's definition of torture, or whether waterboarding is torture

etc etc etc etc????????????????

Oh, this man has a litmus test.

Never you doubt it.

Because NEVER will you HEAR it.

Did anyone hear Tammy Bruce and Bob Beckel on O'Reilly, tonight? (Monday nite)

When Tammy said the Dims want McCain to win the nomination because HILLARY could mop the floor so easily WITH HIM - and BOB said OH THAT WAS NOT SO AT ALL, and He is NOT the Dim most hated GOP and Hillary can not... (shuts up- and that is covered by more of Tammy's immitation of ME)

And O'R saying oh no, you are not fair, Tammy, Fox isn't on McCain's side

John Gibson and O'r and others who are the "CONSERVATIVES" on Fox all acting like Tammy and ANN are NUTSO for not wanting McCain to get in????

With all the info THEY have been sitting on for the last TWO YEARS!!!!

Like that McCAIN AD on Fox NEws last Friday "When McCain was a POW in the Hanoi Hilton, he was inspired by the REAGAN REVOLUTION" - first sentence ON FOX NEWS CHANNEL and NOT ONE PEEP FROM THE FOX NEWS DEPT!

Scriptwriter - "Cambodia at Christmas" no less.

I SO KID YOU NOT! I saw it first at 8:30 or 8:40 CENTRAL PM Friday nite, IN THE MIDDLE OF HANNITY AND COLMES and Sean did NOT COMMENT, even though one of his RADIO CALLERS had given him a heads up on the radio that same afternoon!

He told her he thought she was mistaken but he would look into it.

Yeah, Maybe next AUGUST. or 2025.

Does someone out there PERSONALLY REMEMBER Jeremiah Denton, former Congressman and former Hanoli Hilton POW, survivor?

If so, please correct me if I am wrong, but would not Jeremiah Denton also be spinning in his grave at the idea of - Sheesh - cannot even SAY the filthy thought.
It will not cross MY keyboard or my tongue!

And yeah, if he were still alive today, would it not be BONE-CHILLING HORROR to him for everyone to be saying this #%#%#%# is a GIVEN! ?????

Forgive me if I am wrong, I think it has been 20 years AT LEAST since I read his bio.....

Incidentally, when McCain's own mother seems disgusted at the thought of having to vote with him, you know there is something very seriously wrong with him deep down - intrinsically.

Every president says he has no litmus test - it’s a standard response

So since he has a standard response, why ask him the question or assume he would not put a liberal on the court. In other words the whole premise is rendered mute, by the standard response.

Will the McCain supporters accuse Sen. Cochran of “MDS?” “Dyspepsia?” Immaturity?

I love the irony of McCain's supporters becoming just like McCain himself. Arrogant ... intolerant of dissent ... vindictive ... condescending ...turning against their own conservative bretheren.

Rather than actually make a case for McCain, they immediately go on the attack, even against people like Mark Levin that have spelled out their differences with McCain, point by point by point. And rather than responding to those points, a significant number of McCain defenders simply engage in all of the above with one ad hominem attack after another.

Way to bring us over to your side, guys!!

Would McCain:

A) Be not quite as bad as a socialist?

B) Be just as bad as/no different from a socialist?

C) Be worse than a socialist?

What should we believe?

This is THE question we have to wrestle with.

IF McCain is the Republican nominee, do we:

A) Vote for him?

B) Vote for a socialist?

C) Write in someone - say, Romney?

How can we be convinced that McCain would be tougher against the Muslim crazies than would the socialists?

How can we be convinced that McCain would be better at securing the border than would the socialists?

How can we be convinced that he would not raise taxes and spend wastefully, as badly as the socialists would?

How can we be convinced that he would be a safer bet, as far as judicial nominations are concerened, than the socialists would?

How can we be convinced that he would not push for the resurrection of the "Fairness" Doctrine just as strongly as would the socialists?

How can we be convinced that a President McCain would not change party affiliation to socialist?

I can't think of any other issues right now...but THE question, on any issue, seems to be, how can we be convinced that McCain would be a better bet than a socialist?

And, that's what it appears come down to - a bet.

Put another way, how and why can and should we trust McCain?

I don't believe McCain would take on the democrats. He would just pick somebody they want. Remember he has no litmus test.
