It won’t hurt them one bit. Family reunification can happen right back in Mexico or wherever the illegals happen to come from.

In fact, Mexican law specifically states that immigrant status (defined as: Immigrants are foreigners authorized to enter the country with the purpose of establishing permanent residency.) can be conferred on

# Relatives: dependent spouses or blood relatives provided they are minors, full-time students in Mexico, or handicapped children, of an immigrant or permanent resident.

# Family dependent: foreigners married to Mexicans or those who have children born in Mexico.

So there is no legal (as if legality was their first concern!) reason not to go back to Mexico.

Well quite, that was my point

I have driven around Mexico City and it reminded me of driving through Italian traffic…not good.

They feel the law itself is racist.

My point is that it may be time to stop worrying about the perception, since everything we argue for is called racist by the left at some point.

Exactly. You hit the nail right on the head. For all intents and purposes, rightisright’s comment didn’t have any racist connotation whatsoever. But the perception is the key and if someone can turn it around a make it a racist comment, the argument becomes moot.
