Introducing the John McCain nose plugs

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 6, 2008 02:07 PM

John McCain’s mom said that members of the conservative base are going to have to “hold their noses” and vote for her son.

My good friends at the People’s Cube have come up with the perfect voter aid to help:

Thought you could use a little comic relief.

Back in ‘02 we had a governors race between Jim HCI Doyle and Scott McCallum. Ed Thompson (ET) was running as a Libertarian (ET btw is former Gov Tommy Thompson’s brother).

The gun purists said they were going to vote for ET since McCallum was not sufficiently pure for them, even though McCallum pledged to sign a concealed carry bill, not good enough. Doyle won and we are still waiting for concealed carry. Those libertarians really advanced their cause!

In sports standings a team can gain or lose even if they don’t play. Play the game and make sure Hillary and/or the JFK Lama do not get into office.

How many of you griping about Señator McCain are in the GOP working to change things within the party?

The above Conservatives R Us (#78) is completely opposite of my thinking. I’m not convinced one iota that McCain is any better than Clinton or Obama. The R after his name is not indicative of anything other than he thought at one point he could get elected calling himself an R. Conservative is certainly not his core foundational moral compass.
Look at McCain’s record – not what somebody says about his record. What did he support/stand for/vote for? What did he oppose/vote against?
McCain will not get my vote – period.

I used to think I was reading a conservative blog here. What threw me was Michelle’s constant denigration of anything from the democratic side of the aisle.

Looks like I was wrong and you’d all like to let Hillary in by acting like stupid children and avoiding voting for McCain. Grow up and do the world a favour. Vote for someone who will stick with it in the Middle East and not make your country into a bigger joke than it became when you ran out of Vietnam.

Do they come with a matching straight jacket? If you see me casting a ballot for McCain, odds are I will need one of those too. ;-)

There are those (?) who suggest that the majority of conservatives will “come around” in a few months.

Uh huh. 360 degrees does not change anyone’s vote. There is absolutely no way I would vote for McShamesty. Ever. Never. nope. Pfffffth.

I can’t wait until he speaks at CPAC tomorrow …. rumor is that he’ll show an intro video of Reagan. If participants don’t boooooo or walk out, I’ll be disappointed in them.

    Do not forget!

There were two times in the 20th century when the GOP vote was split with a 3rd party candidate. In 1912 T.R. created the Bull-Moose party and that got Democrat racist Woodrow Wilson elected. Racist? During the T.R. and Taft years, the gov’t was integrated. Wilson segregated it when he got in. And don’t forget that when Wilson was incapacitated, his WIFE assumed control of the gov’t! (She wouldn’t let anyone see him and would relay “his” policy decisions to the Cabinet.) Sound familiar?

The second time was when Perot got 19% of the popular vote and none of the electoral votes. That allowed Clinton to be elected. With Bill as the figure-head and his WIFE running the show.

I don’t like the idea of voting for McCain either, but if it’s a choice between a questionable Republican or a crazy lunatic socialist, I’ll take the Republican.

But, you see, John, others, like me, see John McCain as more than “a questionable Republican.”

And, I didnt’ vote for George H.W. “Read My Lips” Bush or William Jefferson “I feel your pain” Clinton in 1992 either.

    I’m more conservative than partisan.

Well count me as a Hillary voter then. I’m writing in Newt. I just hope there is a brokered convention and the delegates pick him over McCain. If the party is serious about winning the election, they would not promote this turd called McCain.

I’m tired of the party loyal griping at me, because I won’t roll over and support someone (i.e. McCain) that I find vile and revolting to my conservative nature.

Some of us vote on principle, not just partisanship.

I keep hoping that there will be a real floor fight at the convention, and we

I’m trying to sell eye patches to conservatives who have been poked in the eye by Juan McCain. I’m also selling protective goggles for those conservatives that might encounter Senor McCain in the future. For some, in the GOP, these are useless items as they have already demonstrated that they are sightless.

Take heed of cblesz’s post. I’ve said this before in this blog and I’ll continue to scream it. We have to THINK of the big picture. Cblesz is absolutely right. Our issue is not (or should not) be November ‘08. The issue is 2009, 2010, 2011 … The next president might have the opportunity to appoint one or two Supreme Court justices. If a bunch of voters stay home and don’t vote that would guarantee a President Clinton or Obama AND a Dem Senate AND a Dem House. THINK of a President Clinton picking the next justice and presenting him or her to a Dem Senate. THINK about the ramifications for YEARS to come. No, it’s NOT about November ‘08. It’s about all the Novembers after that.
That being said, I agree with other posters that it’s not over, yet. McCain has a good lead not the magic number. A lot can happen in the next few months. However, and I’ve said this before, I will vote for McCain, and any conservatives on my ballot. Sen McCain is not my first choice either, however I know he is head and shoulders above EITHER of the Dem candidates. Even with his shortcomings, I would feel more comfortable with him sitting at that desk than the other two. AND I’ll try my best to either take back the Senate and House or at least severely limit the Dem majority.

After being called a “racist” and a “bigot” by McAmnesty and his cronies during the Shamnesty fight last summer, there isn’t ANYTHING that would convince me to vote for Juan. NOTHING! As one of the Michelle’s earlier articles stated, I judge people’s character by the company they keep. As long as Juan McPain keeps someone like Juan Hernadez within even an arm’s length, HE WILL NOT GET MY VOTE!

I would kill to be at CPAC today. I hope Juan McAmnesty gets boo’d off the stage. I’m voting for Hillary this election because at least when I’m getting screwed, I’ll know its from a Democrat, not a Republican! :-)
