Upheaval in Hillaryland: Patti Solis Doyle out, Johnny Chung-tainted Maggie Williams in; Obama completes his sweep in Maine
It was just a little over a month ago that Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, open borders activist and Norman Hsu guest Patti Solis Doyle, was enjoying the spotlight and basking in glory. The self-styled “Latina Queena” was profiled in the Wall Street Journal as Hill’s soul sister and primary foe of the “white boys” in the Clinton camp.
Well, the Latina Queena’s politics of identity ain’t working so well for Hill. And now it’s so long, Solis Doyle. Who’s back in? Another moldy oldie from the Clinton closet: Maggie Williams. Here’s the statement at the Hillary website:
Patti Solis Doyle has done an extraordinary job in getting us to this point – within reach of the nomination – and I am enormously grateful for her friendship and her outstanding work. And, as Patti has said, this already has been the longest presidential campaign in history and one that has required enormous sacrifices of everyone and our families. I look forward to her continued advice in the months ahead. Patti and I have worked with Maggie Williams for more than a decade. I am lucky to have Maggie on board and I know she will lead our campaign with great skill towards the nomination.
If you can’t remember Maggie Williams, go here. She was knee-deep in the Johnny Chung scandal.
Flashback: March 17, 1997, Time mag:
Sometimes,” President Bill Clinton mused on Friday afternoon, “there is a difference between what is legal and what ought to be done.” And with that he offered a guided tour of Washington’s favorite hideaway–the fertile, foggy valley that lies somewhere between what is wrong and what is illegal. You don’t have to be a lawyer to get in, but it helps to think like one.
Hillary Clinton’s top aide, Maggie Williams, was spending the day there in March 1995, when California businessman Johnny Chung walked into her White House office one morning and handed her a check for $50,000. It was just “a rather unusual circumstance,” Clinton explained last week. She didn’t actually ask Chung for the money as the price of admission to sit in on the President’s radio address two days later. She wasn’t “receiving” contributions on federal property; she was just passing them along. And she certainly didn’t “solicit” them, which federal law forbids.
Or does it? Or did she? Chung’s lawyer, Brian Sun, told TIME that Chung had approached Williams’ aide Evan Ryan the day before, hoping to arrange a cozy lunch in the White House mess for some Chinese businessmen and a later meeting with the First Lady. Somehow the subject turned to Democratic Party needs. Ryan remarked that the President’s party had to cover the costs of political events held by the First Lady at the White House, although Ryan “does not recall” that conversation. So Chung came back the next day and handed Williams that “unsolicited” $50,000 check for the Democratic National Committee. According to Sun, Chung did so with the understanding that it would help him gain access for his guests, who indeed dined in the mess and had their pictures taken with Hillary the next day.

Meantime, Barack Obama completes his weekend sweep with a big win in Maine.
Is The Big She going to push her already stretched luck and turn on the tears yet again?

I believe having been a player in one or more scandals is a major part of the de rigueur requirements of this particular job description.
If HRC gets to be president I am afraid we’re going to find out the hard way,
just who all she has mortaged this country to in hers and Slicks determination to get back into power, anyway, anyhow.
I see the flames hitting Hillary’s butt.
Whatever the scandal we know it is not Hillary’s fault.
If HRC becomes President, I will be tempted to make an Alex Baldwin threat to leave the country..but I don’t know where I would go..
So now that Obama is getting the support of more of the black voters in the primaries, the ones that Hillary once considered “in the bag,” doesn’t it make sense to get a black person in the campaign to help recover the lost support with that demographic?
I remember Maggie Williams pretty vividly. A very smart communicator, famous for telling investigators during all the Clinton “-gate” investigations, “I don’t recall,” thereby mirroring First Lady Hillary’s answers to the same questions. I hope we aren’t heading down that road again.
For a political couple that hates the military they don’t have a bit of hesitation instantly firing anyone that they believe isn’t getting them the results they want.
The classic Mr. Evil movie character comes to mind.
I’m very disappointed! Bang!
Yup, definitely sounds like the party of change to me. Maybe we should bring in new reporters as well. What is Helen Thomas doing nowadays anyhow? That is a Fresh Face that may be just what the Hildabeast and the Dhimmis need to perk up her staff and her street creds with the press?
It appears “she who must not be named” can’t win in the current election cycles cult of personality. I am really enjoying the panic in her camp. It is fun to watch the Democrats tear themselves apart over race vs. sex.
Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! Out of airspeed, running out of alttitude, and running out of options. Crash and burn baby!
Speakup (post #7) I believe it is Dr. Evil. After all he didn’t go to evil medical school for 6 years for nothing.
I guess the strategic question everyone is avoiding is:
What Took Hillary So Long?
Deck chairs on the Titanic. She should have fired Mark Penn.
Oh crap, I must agree with Mookie… deck chairs on the Titanic.
Ha ha ha ha ha!
….and Howard Wolfson! Did anyone notice the article (it was in the one that said the Clinton campaign spent $500k on….parking last year) that they spent $4m on political “consultants” and Obama spent $1M. I believe Wolfson and Penn qualify as “consultants”. With those numbers, it looks like they could quite easily go a month or two without……
Now, knowing the Clintons, I wonder if they are paying Bill as a “consultant”?
As a conservative, race & gender are not important; we all know iit is about the IDEAS!
So please pardon the cynic in me, but does anyone think it is a coincidence that Ms. Williams is Black?
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t doubt that the HILLBILLY camp took note of that fact.
And look at that! You didn’t even burst into flames!
This seems like a strange move on many fronts. Mark Penn and Howard Wolfson should have been gone a long time ago. Paul Begala is a Clinton acolyte and he has ripped into Penn on numerous radio shows. And why fire your Latina campaign manager just a couple of weeks before the Texas primary?
Such a risky move. I smell desperation.
This tells us so much about the Clintons it’s almost a confessional:
1. The Cronyism
is alive and well in Camp Clinton.
2. The Paranoia
of having come this far and still only trusting close insiders. There is a term in law known as Mens Rea, which refers to the actions of a guilty mind. Such paranoia makes the idea of mens rea as true for them politically as a guy running from police is regarded as a display of guilt on the street.
3. The Lack of Shame
They think we have the memories of small, insignificant mammals, and the gullibly of Forrest Gump. Paradoxically, their lack of shame is their most humiliating aspect of all.
4. The Hubris
Reality is a sound bite to the Clintons. If the media paints them well, then they are good. If the media ignores a problem, it does not exist. Do know that if Hillary gets the nod, the Fairness doctrine will be signed into law. Think about that the next time you want to say you’ll sit out the election, vote third party of anything else that puts Hillary Rodham Clinton into the White House.
Maggie Williams. Well well well. Hillary is back in the kitchen on behalf of her family, cooking up desperation alamode with a heavy helping of scheming paranoia.
Because Barack is cleaning Hillbilly’s clock.
Couldn’t we find a village somewhere in Zambia that these people can spend the next 10 years in at a UN conference on Strategic Visions of Global Cultural Empowerment or some such *deleted*? It would be cheap, promise air conditioning and golf courses and interns galore for all of them, it would be cheap.
Watching the Clinton campaign disintegrate is even more satisfying than seeing the NYT circulation plummet! You would think both would take a hint that there is reason people aren’t buying and it isn’t the packaging.
Ack! Please, no more tears. I despise fabricated emotion, especially from HRC.
Patti Solis Doyle committed the sin of outliving her usefulness as the hispanic vote is wrapped up. Time to pander to the next aggrieved group!
And she accuses Bush of cronyism?
HRC is expected to take the Hispanic vote in TX. If Obama takes the Black vote
in Dallas district and Houston district, he will get something like 33 delegates. If
If HRC does take the Hispanic vote in South Texas, she would only get 13 delegates,
I believe. I’m really not up on the Dem rules for delegates but I think they are set
on the amount of votes cast in the last gubernatorial election. In that case, the
Hispanic vote in S TX was a lot lighter than the Black vote in the Dallas and Houston
dustricts. I think she should hire Helen Thomas as her press liaison. She’s no
scarier than HRC crying AGAIN!

I could not agree more MrConservativeCat. I thought of not voting for president
and then thought of her getting in or Obama and his cult of personality. Then
I read an article on rolling stones site about Pelosi and Reid whining about not
being able to stop the war. Said they were going to table it until we got a new
president and then, they would take care of business. They obviously think they
will get a dimm. Not on my vote! I will hold my nose and vote for McCain. I
don’t care what others think. This is what my conscience says I must do.
Shameless attempt to quiet the racial problems the Clinton’s have with OBama.
On February 10th, 2008 at 9:07 pm,
Not being able to stomch Rolling Stone I never would have known that. Thanks for pointing out the admission on their part of what we all merely strongly suspected.
Get the word out. Personally, I’d scan it to people who have influence. Is that issue still on the stands? This is really gigantically important.
TXRose
My apoologies about the “issue on the stand” part; the idea of the article being on the RS website didn’t register. Do you have a link to the interview?
I connected through Instapundit..
I have never read Rolling Stone in my life.
It is titled congressional chicken doves. I will see if I
can find a link but I am so goofy with computers that
I may not be able to set it up for you to just click.
Sounds like a cosmetic change of staffing, for sure. Get rid of the Latina and grab some of those black voters!
Oh, well, she’ll steal the spot with superdelegates and lawsuits to allow MI and FLA votes.
http:www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/18349197/the_chicken_doves
I am not even going to try to do anything with this, MrConservativeCat. If you
type it in, it will take you directly to the article.
They are about to grant temporary residence status to ten of thousands of
immigrants before the FBI has even finished checking them out, to, supposedly,
ease the “ballooning” backlog. It just popped up on instapundit.

I was successful once. Let’s see if I can do it again.

TXRose,
Got it. This little article should become a big talking point right away among conersvatives. And it needs to be. <aybe Michelle can start a thread about it – the confessional certainly is worthy. Conservatives should also save the ext and html, because the moment conservative do make it a talking point, it with either go away or RS will have replaced it with a better, “abridged” version minus Pelosi’s damning comments.
Hillary is in the muck because the only method she has for winning the nomination is that of personal destruction. It worked for them every time in the past, but now she is up against a ‘black’ nominee, that tactic has backfired on her. It’s quite delicious to watch the Clinton camp flounder on which tactic to use, because the only one they had in their arsenal was to destroy and impugn whomever came against them. This is true schadenfreude.
TX Rose,
The part about “easing the backlog” as if our national sovereignty is a matter of bureaucratic convenience is both alarming and infuriating. I’d e-mail this stuff to Michelle, Rose, and maybe you’ll get a hat tip. (I’m hoping some day I can get a hat tip!
By the way, for those of you thinking of sitting out the election or voting a third party, what Rose is displaying here with these articles is a fraction of what will happen if Hillary or Obama get into office. McCain is weak on this subject, too, but he’ll want a second term in office and needs to stay somewhat in check; Hillary and Obama will look like heroes to their core base if they do ten times worse than is being described here, and they’ll make sure it sticks with liberal judges appointed for life. Think about that the next time you want to vote your “conscience”.
If the dems go to convention they have a big problem! If the Supers give it to BHO a large contingent of HRC’s supporters will be pissed and might not vote or write in her name. On the other hand, if the Supers give it to HRC, especially if BHO has any lead, I predict a backlash that will make Watts look like kindergarten play … and I for one wouldn’t blame them! There are some advantages to living in North Dakota even though it is currently -13 … wind chill around -30.
Sandy Burglar, James Carville, Bill Clinton, now Maggie Williams.
Naw, no third term for Clinton here! I expect a sudden surge of “unsolicited” donations to the Clinton Liebrary by Chinese and Indonesian nationals.
Wait until the fresh, young, idealistic Obama supporters see what the Clintons will do to him.
It should be quite instructive. No doubt, George Bush, Dick Cheney, Halliburton or Blackwater will somehow be blamed……
We may not have a very interesting convention (though I wouldn’t bank on that) but you
know that the Dems will. Especially with Dirty Tricks Willy wanting eight more years in
the White House. I do dread the thought of his being First Lech.
Sent her the links MrCCat. Thanks.
It ain’t over yet. Hillbilly is busy trying to
bribeconvince the superdelegates to vote for her no matter what the will of the people say. Oh, and by the way, her husband and Terry McCauliffe, among a few of their other CRONIES are superdelegates. The fun is only starting folks.
Someone’s going to cry foul, and it ain’t gonna be Hillbilly.
And pray tell, Hillary, who do we blame for that?
/obvious
She creates this crap season then whines when she is a victim of it.
Scrappleface has a cute piece on Bill Clinton saying that, “Obamas’s White Half Won Maine.” The piece is tongue in cheek but it could as well be true after some
of the things he has said. It goes on to explain that his Black Half won in the
South and his White half won in the “Anglo American” states. Bill says that at
first it doesn’t seem to make sense but if you think about it for awhile it’s better
than him having to say that Obama won because people just don’t like Hillary.LOL
The dems are tiptoeing on a razor blade … if they slap down BHO they risk sending one of their most dependable constituencies to the party that freed them and where they would find out how the dems have used and abused them.
Speaking of Chung…It’s funny/disgusting how quickly the media swept the whole Hsu scandal under the rug. Mustn’t interfere with the coronation of Queen Hillary. It’s been a pleasure watching the voters screw up Billary’s and the NY Times’ plans.
BlameAmericaLast, Ordinary Coloradan and lcl4,
None of what you described in each of your posts could have our could ever have taken one step forward if not for an entirely complicit mainstream media. A national challenge by the MSM, even gently, on anything mentioned in your posts would have made such scenarios essentially impossible. As it stands, it’s all credible.
Absolutely…but watch for it around the 14th of February, give or take a day. ‘Shill’ get much more mileage with a misty Valentines Day session, ya know… with everyone else in the country so emotional and all.
Just read that Obama won the grammy for reading his book. He beat out Bill Clinton,
Jimmy Carter, Maya Angelou and Alan Alda.
McCain and Dr. Juan Hernandez are drooling at the mouth to take this liberal latina hack into their open borders campaign.
¡Viva La Estupida!
It’s no surprise that anyone who is associated with the Clinton’s becomes tainted or stained. Since we’re all aware of what Bill can be up to, and Hillary’s long association therein, God only knows what kind of messes, literally, these people can spawn….
And oh boy, do we know much Slick Willie can spawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!

30 years ago there was a popular phrase: “if it feels good, do it” It caught on through the media and it continues unabated. We’re seeing it in a different form these days illustrated by what you reported: “if it feels good, and makes you more content, even if it shamelessly promotes one side of the socio-political side of the spectrum regardless of appearance or reputation or shame, do it.”
That’s where we are now. Countries can fall and giant democracies can still have civil wars even in this high-tech, faux-enlightened age. We can only wonder how this new one will play out, because we are certainly headed for a socio-political confrontation of some sort. Whether it be a constitutional crisis over election results, people turning off the MSM by the droves (which can actually will hurt our economy, as much is driven by high-stakes advertising), “angry-as-hell” people taking to the streets or even something worse, there is an inevitability in the air. Personally, I think people who care deeply about the values that made this country great should push that inevitability, albeit peacefully, with endless repetition, because the confrontation is absolutely certain to rise to the surface sooner or later. The only question is what form it will take.
Mr. Cat…
Revolution?
I purchased more 2nd amendment rights yesterday…anyone else notice the price of ammo has almost doubled in the last few months. I was told the Chi-coms are buying up all the lead, brass and copper they can…does not surprise me. especially after we built up their economy.
LOL. well, that’s sorta a last resort, really…
I’m not advocating such, it’s a fact society is getting more violent, then we have racial unrest along with an illegal invasion and gangs of all kinds. I’m afraid once it starts there will be no turning back.
Do the math! About 30 million African Americans. Drop 10% for in jail, military, and etc.
27 Million
10% muslim? Hard to find accurate data.
But we do know about Farrakhan and many prisoners leaving jail … so lets say conservatively 5%.
1,350,000 waiting for an excuse and more than willing to stir the pot.
I think that 2nd amendment rights is simply prudent. If you love your country and your family.
Heck yeah MM, put all your anger at McCain into exposing Hillary and Obama for the socialists that they are.
I don’t like McCain either, but I didn’t like any of the GOP candidates. If you ignore them (the people) and let this thing play out until November, things might be different.
Hammer them on the specific issues that you care about after Hillary and Obama have lost. Whenever I think about either of them winning, I check to make sure that my wallet is still in my pocket. One thing that the government will do under democratic administration is take more of my money.
Bush may have spent too much money, but at least my wallet didn’t feel it. Maybe McCain will cut spending and that will be good. . . but Hillary and Obama will both take my money.
Rightisright and lcl4,
As a second amendment advocate and gun owner, I think that having the availability at hand to protect your family and home is not just prudent, but a necessary piece of insurance – the chances of using it are rare, but if and when you have to have it you have to have it . What I meant was that getting the guns ready for a national revolution - which is what I thought you were referring to – isn’t such a good idea. Bloodshed in the streets is always sloppy and unhappy. I do think, though, that there is a tension in the air – a palpable strain – which suggests that concervatives’ patience on the issue of being marginalized by the MSM is at the breaking point, and we should just go ahead, stop the bleeding and admit the breaking point has occured and get on with whatever we need to get on with to change the situation.
That’s the ticket.
I suspect that HRC hired Maggie Williams again was because she made an “inside” deal with the Kleenex company. It’s going to take a lot of boxes to make to November.
Now we are talking about this Maggie Williams.
It is important to note who Maggie is.
She was Chief of Staff for Hillary when she was the First Lady in the WH.
She is also the person in charge of HilPac since it was created.
She has worked for the Children’s Defense Fund and once served as press secretary for Sen. Robert Torricelli (D-NJ).
She is a former a past President of Fenton Communications which is the PR firm of the Democrat party and every liberal group or NGO you can think of out there. It’s never a Dem talking point, it’s always a Fenton Approved talking point you hear.
She sat on the Milano School board of governors at The New School, home base for Norman Hsu of DonateGate fame.
She is married to Ronald K Noble who started out as an Assistant AG under the Clintons but then got moved to the Dept of Treasury to be put in charge of Customs, the Secret Service, BATF, Federal Law Enforcement Center, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Very convenient placement for an administration which had the donation investigations flying left and right and also he probably was immensely helpful during the Waco BBQ affair.
So where is Noble now……….Head of InterPol and Bill C. is out doing all sorts of international deals to line his pockets and other questionable Clinton donors are coming out of the wood work with that whole mess going on.
Drudge Report 7/3/99 “…” A former U.S. law enforcement official on Friday was chosen as the lead candidate to head Interpol, the global law enforcement organization. Ron Noble, former Treasury undersecretary for enforcement, was named during an executive session at Interpol headquarters in Lyon, France. Noble, 42, best known as the chief investigator of the failed Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms raid on the Branch Davidian compound outside Waco, Texas, is the only person the United States has ever nominated to head Interpol in the 75-year history of the organization. Attorney General Janet Reno personally picked Noble for the position.
Chung ended up visiting the White House 51 times, many of these visits taking place after the National Security Council had described him as a “hustler” who should be treated with “suspicion.” But to hear Maggie Williams tell it, Johnny Chung was a poor, innocent waif, a sort of diamond in the rough, an Eliza Doolittle grossly in need of expert counseling in the finer points of fund-raising etiquette from Mrs. Clinton’s staff—who, after all, are responsible for the social niceties at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. “A prime example of his … misguided behavior,” Williams testified, “was his persistent request to give money directly to Mrs. Clinton. Yes, there was this general feeling that something was being covered up, and that stemmed from the search of Foster’s office when Bernie Nussbaum changed the rules of the game and refused to allow the Department of Justice and the Park Police to participate in the search. During the Senate Whitewater Committee it came out that Mrs. Clinton, her chief of staff Maggie Williams and Susan Thomases (the New York attorney who is close friends with both Ms. Williams and Mrs. Clinton), had talked 17 times in a 43-hour period after Foster killed himself. Then Mrs. Thomases calls Nussbaum on the morning of the search, after Nussbaum has agreed to allow the Department of Justice and the Park Police to participate in the search. But after this conversation, Nussbaum changes the rules. He decides to keep all the options and all rights to the search, and then forces the Department of Justice attorneys, David Margolis and Roger Adams, as well as the Park Police guys, Charlie Hume and Pete Markland, to stand there like cigar-store Indians. That is where the conspiracy people believe the coverup began. On more than one occasion, I told Mr. Chung this was not possible, although his offer was much appreciated.”

The first Black woman to direct the operations of the first lady in the White House, Maggie Williams, was named president of Fenton Communications, one of the nation’s largest communications firms, based in the nation’s capital.
Born and reared in Kansas City, MO, Williams graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Trinity College in Washington in 1977 and received a master’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communications. She has worked for the Children’s Defense Fund and once served as press secretary for Sen. Robert Torricelli (D-NJ).

That should sit well with the hispanic voters she has been pandering to.
If memory serves correctly, after Vince Foster committed “suicide”, Ms Williams cleaned out his office in the White House BEFORE federal investigators were allowed in.
Hillary’s attempt to show she actually knows a black.
*Whew* That is an interesting link on the Rolling Stone article, TXRose.
Matt Taibbi used somre pretty strong language in it to illustrate his disgust with the Democrats not wanting to pull our troops out of Iraq before a new president is seated:
- “Even beyond the war, the Democrats have repeatedly gone limp-d**k every time the Bush administration so much as raises its voice.”
- “How much of this bulls**t are we going to take?”
- “Look, f**k your hearts, OK? Just get it done.”
Is it a coincedence that as soon as Hillary secured the Hispanic vote (but is lacking in the Black vote, which Obama is getting) that she does away with her “Latina Queena” and brings a BLACK WOMAN on board?
If Obama gets more delegates can Clinton still get nominated by the superdelegates? Will Obama supporters vote for Clinton or will they revolt and stay home or vote for another party?
BarryF..I thought it was an article worth reading. Says some things that I suspected
were going on and sheds new light on Pelosi and Reid. Personally I think that she is
running both the House and the Senate and that Reid is only window dressing.
ctmom…I do believe that even if Obama gets more votes which means more
delegates, than Hillary, she can still get the nomination if she can hold on to the
superdelegates, whether out of fear or blackmail. Remember the purloined FBI
files? I don’t put anything past the Clintons..
I wonder if anybody in the MSM will ask Hillary if it was appropriate for Maggie Williams to accept a contribution from Johnny Chung in the White House. Surely Wolf Blitzer won’t ask. I also wonder if anybody will ask Hillary Clinton a simple question: Do you think it was the correct thing to do for your husband to issue 121 presidential pardons, including one to a major health care fraudster/crook, on his way out of the White House? CNN accepted Clinton’s terms years ago when he said no interviews if the pardon question is asked. So I am sure there will be no questions about accepting campaign money in the White House.
Here is an interesting piece on the delegates, written by Ted Olsen.
