Justice for Robert Dean Stethem, the Marines in Beirut, and other American victims of Hezbollah

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 13, 2008 02:05 PM

You’ve read by now that Hezbo killer Imad Mughniyeh is reportedly dead. May he rot, rot, rot in hell. If you look at which blogs are buzzing about this very significant event, you won’t find many liberal blogs rejoicing.

Of course not.

These ostriches are, and always have been, blind to our jihadi enemies–and the American lives lost in the war that started long before 9/11 and the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. They’ve been deaf to the outrage of American victims’ families whose loved ones died in Hezbo-plotted and Hezbo-executed attacks, including the:

* Bombing of Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia killing 19 U.S. servicemen (1996)
* Abduction, torture and death of CIA Station Chief William Francis Buckley in Lebanon (1985)
* Hijacking of TWA Flight 847 killing U.S. Navy diver Robert Dean Stethem (1985)
* Bombing outside U.S. Embassy annex in Beirut killing 24 (1984)
* Car bombing of U.S. Marine Barracks in Beirut killing 241 U.S. servicemen (1983)
*Car bombing of U.S. Embassy in Beirut killing 63 people, including 17 Americans (1983)

Navy diver Robert Dean Stethem, RIP

Instead, we find the Left rallying for the Hezbo killers, like they did two summers ago:

hezsf.jpg

Black, red, brown, white!
We support Hezbollah’s fight!
We support Hezbollah’s fight!
We support Hezbollah’s fight!
We support Hezbollah’s fight!
Black, red, green, blue!
Black, red, green, blue!
Black, red, green, blue!
Black, red, green, blue!
We support Hamas too!
We support Hamas too!
We support Hamas too!
We support Hamas too!

Keep the families of the victims of Imad Mughniyeh and his evil henchmen in your thoughts and prayers today.

And keep your heads out of the sand.

Michelle, There is even more to the story. I believe that some years ago, the German government released the terrorists that the Germans were holding who were involved in the murder of Robbie Stethem. My recollection is that the US State Department did not even make a quiet objection to the release of the terrorists. I don’t recall the exact dates and times of the German surrender but this is the general background. Hezbollah and Hamas smelled weakness and were even more emboldened.

I remember the story. They separated Stethem from the other passengers because of his military I.D. They tied him up and shot him while he was helpless on the floor. Then they threw him out of the plane on to the tarmac. The terrorists said it was pay back for the Navy shelling of Lebanon. Hezbollah is a bigger threat than AQ because, they have been infiltrating into this country for years and are better organized. We should have been after them when they became bold enough to kill Americans in 84′. We have paid a price for not doing so.

I recall that ABC News was incredibly sympathetic to the terrorists who hijacked the airplane and murdered Robbie Stethem. Peter Jennings and his proArab correspondent Charles Glass nearly fell over one another in attempting to explain the Hezbollah reasons for doing what they did. ABC even sent a reporter to the hijacked airplane to do a sycophantic interview with the killers. There was one guy on the airplane who sold some sort of oil drilling equipment in the Arab world and he was totally defending the terrorists and explaining how Israel was responsible for everything that happened. ABC News allowed him to be the “spokesman” for the terrorists and treated him like a man of wisdom. There was one guy on the airplane from Chicago who kept saying that ABC had no business annointing this guy from Texas as the “spokesman” for the passengers. ABC portrayed the guy from Chicago as an eccentric kook with emotional problems. I remember this whole sordid event very well because I come from a Navy dad and live near a navy baseand Robbie Stethem was like so many of the people that I know. ABC News from Jennings to Koppel to Glass should still be ashamed of their behavior in that episode.

It was almost certainly the Mossad. The American line has been since we refused to go after the Hezbollah for the Beirut bombing, that such a retaliatory action would “complicate Mid-East peace efforts.” Blah, blah. That was the advice given Reagan which he, unfortunately, took. (It was one of his three greatest blunders). So it wasn’t us. We would have bungled it anyway.

As for the situation today, Condi, with Bush’s blessing of course, is currently comparing the Palestinian Terrorists to “civil Rights” leaders of the 60’s. I wish I were making this up.

Will it be any worse under President Obama? Probably, though at the moment I don’t see how. Fortunately, it appears we are outsourcing a large part of our mid-east foreign policy to Israel. Next mission: take care of Iran for us.

Great point and not only did we refuse to go after the Hezbollah, we secretly negotiated with them for a cessation of violence against American forces in Lebanon. The U.S. agreed to an ignominious quid pro quo, we will withdraw all substantial forces from Lebanon and Hezbollah would stop attacking our forces. One of the darkest episodes for this country that know one will knows about. Back then the Mossad was completely stunned by the decision.

I could not believe my ears today. I was out running errands all day, and had Michael Medved on and he was discussing this and had some callers talking about it as well. There were several people…and I use the word “People” extremely loosly, that were actually pitying this scumbag and were angry the he was taken out.

One such bleeding hearted Liberal was almost in tears, talking about how he had family members, friends and others who would be mourning him, sorry that he was now dead, how he was a human being who laughed, loved and such. Another of these so-called humans went on about how we needed to be taking care of our own in this country and not doing anything about these scum-bags in Islam who are murdering us, plotting our downfall and carrying out terror throughout the world.

When he asked the woman who was crying that he was killed what she thought we should do about these terror leaders, she said we should do nothing. We should just let them be, let them live their lives.

I found this exchange to be the most honest and open exchange between Liberals and their beliefs about terrorists and especially Islamic Terrorists that I have ever heard. They honestly do not see them as bad people. They honestly think we are worse for not only going after them and killing them, but because we applaud their deaths and captures and “gloat” about them, we actually are worse than the Islamic Fundamenatlists because we supposedly go around claiming to hate that sort of thing.

They even claimed that Hitler was a human being who should have been mourned when he was killed/committed suicide as well because he was human, lived, laughed, loved etc.

They refuse to see these people, including apparently, Hitler, as the murderous monsters that they are.

This is why, my friends, we need to make sure the likes of Hillary and Obama do not take over the reigns in November. This is why we cannot afford to have Liberals in charge of the decision making in regards to the WOT, the military or anything having to do with the Global Jihad or Islamic Global Domination, because they just do not take it seriously, they do not see them as the threat they are and view them as no worse than our own military, and in many cases, our military is far worse.

I am glad this scum was taken out and look forward to more of them splattered to Kingdom Come. It is just too bad that these Liberals can’t see them for what they are, and by the time they will, it will be far too late for them to change their way of thinking. just ask the Death Camp victims.
