Since the members of Congress will never agree to term limits, it’s important for voters not to elect incumbents. Using the excuse that seniority and Washington beltway insider information is how things “get done” in Washington, current elected politicians no longer even care about the people they supposedly represent. Seems they all get corrupted (especially Murtha! How long’s he been there???). We need fresh ideas and new people who truly love this country. No incumbents.

Hannibal, I hope you’re right that McCain does not take earmarks. That would make it easier for me to vote for him. But I was refering to his efforts to stop others like Murtha and Byrd from taking earmarks. Earmarks have only increased while McCain has been in office. If he can form a gang of 14 to oppose his own party, why can’t he form a gang to oppose earmarks?

In recent speaches, McCain takes credit for reducing spending by opposing the Bridge to Nowhere and the Woodstock Museum. According to factcheck.org that is not true. McCain not only did not speak out against these earmarks at the time but he didn’t even show up to vote against them. And, as for reducing spending, every penny for the Bridge to Nowhere was given to Alaska to use as they saw fit to appease Sen. Stevens. So no money was saved! (I wonder if the Senate even knows or cares what Alaska spent our money on.)

Sen. McCain has promised to veto all earmarks if he is elected. I see that as a good sign and I hope he follows through with his promise. But I’m not going to hold my breath.

I wonder if Sioux Manufacturing Corp. will be in attendance. "Underweaving" of the kevlar in more than 2 million "P.A.S.G.T." helmets. DoJ settled for a $1.9 million fine, less than their savings. DoD did nothing. No jail time. Twelve days before the settlement Sioux Manufacturing of ND was given a new contract of up to $74 million to make more armor for helmets

Love to make the pig party. Unfortunately, I will be on assignment in Tampa for the week. Probably fortunate for both me and the ‘ex’ marine.

I refer to him as an ‘ex marine’. The saying goes, once a marine, always a marine. Murtha broke faith with the brotherhood. He should now only be known as an ‘ex’ marine. He can no longer identify with the corp of fine men and women he unjustly accused. To The Corp, he should be labled a traitor of the first water.

Hopefully, he will soon be known as an ‘ex’ congressman as well.

Safe to say this event will be a “pig roast”?
Abscam Murtha is one of the most repugnant politicians ever to come from my home state. I’m only sorry I don’t live in his district so I could vote him out. But too many of my fellow Keystone-staters are dumb sheep anyway; they just vote for incumbents without bothering to actually THINK FOR THEMSELVES!!

My hope is Michelle will continue to hold corrupt politicians accountable to the people for what they do. Shine a light on corruption because evil cant abide with the light.
