What Michelle Obama said

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 19, 2008 09:53 AM

Here’s the video via Hot Air of The Soul-Fixer’s wife admitting that she hasn’t had a real moment of pride in her country for the duration of her adult life:

I believe it was Michael Kinsley who quipped that a gaffe is when a politician tells the truth. In this case, it’s what happens when a Democrat politician’s wife says what a significant portion of the party’s base really believes.

You’ll note the immediate applause after she delivers the line.

But, hey, DON’T QUESTION THEIR PATRIOTISM!

How ’bout this box. I posted a couple of substantive comments in this thread regarding my thoughts on this non-controversy

I like the first thing you said concerning substantive comments:

“I’ll go ahead and dutifully play my role as a-hole lawyer”

    Add a little:

“which is to make some dopey and unoriginal comment that adds nothing to the discussion”

    Plus some:

“soap box’s lack of intellectual horsepower are finally answered by his admission that he was once a glue sniffer”

    Equals:

    You are an idiot!

Michelle Obama may be taking all the heat for her stupid gaffe, but I blame the MSM. The Obama’s are clearly not ready for prime time, but the MSM has allowed Obama to drone on about hope for six months without question. So they shouldn’t be surprised when it blows up in their face. It’s the press corps job to clear out the deadwood as early in the race as possible, but it hard to do that while waving a pennant.

Aw, come now dakine… calling yourself an a-hole really isn’t all that original.

[Dakine - I know, you were challenging Soap not me.
Soap - Sorry, I know you don't need anyone to speak for you.]

RR, this guy needs all the help he can get, so please jump to his defense anytime you’re feeling magnanimous.

    Dakine:

Just a hint: I don’t mean to be the spelling/grammar police on the blog but you may want to actually self-edit before insinuating that Box or those that “disagree” with you are “less inteligent” or “less argumentative” as you. This assertion is idiotic… and, well troll-like.

Perhaps, you’ve underestimated, Dakine, that many of us have run through the far left troll gauntlet that can be the blogosphere. Your ideas are disengenuous and illusive at best. You will be called on them as have others such as lgm, who is the more typical hit-and-run troll.

At least be honest in your perspective. To say Michelle Obama is an innocent is to say Bill Clinton treated Monica Lewinsky like a daughter. You’ve insulted folks who disagree with you because their comments don’t fit your world view.

I also do not appreciate the comments of folks like lgm who treat this blog like a social experiment to see how many bloggers can get mad at him (or ignore him- his profile alone is enough of a turn off, sort of like Ms. Obama’s speech). If he teaches Math the way he conducts himself on this blog, he would never get a lesson done.

Please learn the difference between your and you’re. I let it pass most of the time but when posters like you, dekine, puff up your banter skills
like you actually contribute much, then I don’t. The only blog demagogue on here is you. Oh, and you criticizing Gabe is really hilarious.

I’m not stepping on your toes, Box, am I? I also know Dakine is raggin’ on ya, not me. Carry on, brah …what the heck is that, anyways, Dakine, new troll ghetto slang?

Actually, you need all the help you can get… be careful how deep you sink into that ideological quicksand because nobody may throw you a line to tow you out.

And no one is defending Box… he can do that all by himself.

Oh, and please, dakine, let me know when you’ve said something brilliant again. We’re all waiting…

em, thanks for your (or is it you’re?…as I’m sure all of your (?) comments are typo free) very enlightening and constructive post. I feel duly chastised and contrite.

BTW, my point was not that MO is an innocent. Sen. McCain is my candidate. I’m simply making the argument that this blog post and the comments that followed are in large part disingenuous and factually inaccurate. Also, Gabe’s comments regarding Obama and his ties to radical Islam are patently absurd, and frankly, embarrassing.

“Troll ghetto slang”? What are your trying to say?

    emjem,

    Thanks for yoor kind comments!

Dakine is suffering with a case of low self esteem. It is the reason he continues to announce “I am an attorney”. That lets you and I know our thoughts and posts are inferior and irrelevant.

I seem to get under his skin because I am just some stupid redneck with a GED who can hold his own when the Dakine witty vocabulary and insults are unleashed.

I appreciate you all covering my back. Lets me know I am not a trollish dwarf of a man like some others here (and they happen to know who they are).
