So, I probably shouldn’t tell anyone that I named my Pleko fish (those are the bottom feeding sucker fish that eat all the waste products and algae…the scum suckers) Mohammed and Osama. I changed their names after the teddy bear incident. My 8 and 10 year old daughters thought it was funny that I named my scum sucking fish those names, and I think they started to flourish wit the new names as well.

Oh well, wouldn’t be a Friday after prayers without “the Religion of Death” having a temper tantrum about something.

I wonder if anyone will tell them that just because they have recently decided that they should not have images of Uncle Mo in their “religion” that it doesn’t mean squat to those of us that do not adhere to that death cult and we can draw him all we want? No? Oh well.

Of course, a two thousand pound bomb would work on the riot, but who wants to clean it up?

My husband and I have not yet had any children but I sure have fears about the educational system in this country. We’ve already discussed the possibility of homeschooling if we find the public school system to be too much to bear.

(graysonret – Silas Marner is by George Eliot – and I’m sorry to say I’ve never read any of her work. I just finished a book, maybe I will pick that one up next.)

There are mammoth foundational/structural problems with our education system that, I believe, cannot be tinkered away.
What will be needed is wholesale cleansing of the Augean stables.

The back of the teachers’ unions (NEA and AFT) will have to be broken.

Education will have to be removed from the grip of the “educationsts”.

A far less expenseive, far more efffective, far more responsible alternative to four years of college will have to be developed.

This is just for starters; of course, this will have to be accompanied by a sea change for the better in our overall society/culture.

I’m not sure that the necessary changes for the salvation of our nation/society/culture will be able to be brought about in our current cold culture war.

That we are living at a critical (in the historical sense) time, with tremendous, existential consequences deriving from the decisions we make, is something of which I am being more and more convinced with every day that passes.

Pray – pray very often and fervently – for our country.
