These are the four schoolchildren killed in the Cottonwood, MN bus accident this week.
* Hunter Javens, 9, Cottonwood.
* Jesse Javens, 13, Cottonwood (Hunter & Jesse were brothers)
* Emilee Olson, 9, Cottonwood
* Reed Stevens, 12, Marshall.

Funeral arrangements are set for three of the four bus crash victims:
Visitation for Emilee Olson will be Saturday from 6:00-9:00 and Sunday from 1:00-2:00, followed by a funeral — all at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood.
Mourners will gather for Hunter Javens, 9, and his brother Jesse Javens, 13, on Sunday from 5:00-8:00, then from 10:00-11:00 on Monday morning. The gatherings will be a Lakeview School, with a funeral service following.
Arrangements for Reed Stevens, 12, are pending.

The illegal alien van driver arrested yesterday was charged today with vehicular homicide and other crimes:
The woman appeared in District Court this morning in a wheelchair with one leg in a cast or bandage. Through an interpreter, she told the court that her name is Alianiss Morales, that she has been working in a Cottonwood cabinet shop for about a month and was living with her boyfriend in a Minneota, Minn., trailer but they broke up on the day of the crash.
Maes asked the judge to hold the woman without bail, citing her questionable identity. But the judge said that it would be wrong because none of the charges involve allegations of using false identification. However, the defendant’s attorney, Manuel P. Guerrero, of St. Paul, protested that the bail set — $400,000 without conditions or $200,000 with an assortment of conditions — was akin to denying her bail because of her financial situation.
Her next court appearance is set for April 21.
“She’s grief-stricken about the accident,” Guerrero said of his client. “She’s hurting about what happened to the kids.”
Federal immigration investigator Claude Arnold said this morning that Morales is not the woman’s name, and she is not revealing her real name. He added that she is in this country illegally, probably from Mexico.
Federal immigration spokesman Tim Counts said that the woman has been of “minimal helpfulness” to investigators, but “we will get to the bottom of matters.”
Maes told the judge that ICE officials had located an Alianiss Nunez Morales in Puerto Rico and investigators showed pictures to that woman’s grandparents of the woman in the Lyon County jail. They said the woman in jail was not their granddaughter, Maes added, which became the agency’s reason for being concerned about the jailed woman’s identity.
“Minimal helpfulness.” Doesn’t sound grief-stricken to me.

What did “Morales’s” employer know about her illegal status and when did the employer know it?
Has she evaded deportation orders? How many?
What didn’t local police ask about her immigration status when she pleaded guilty to driving without a valid license two years ago–and will the parents of the schoolchildren hold officials accountable?

It is time to stop screwing around. Enough of this, “the country would come to a halt if there were no Illegals working” garbage. It is time we stopped walking on eggshells to appease people that have no business being here. the ACLU has no say in this, as does any other Liberal organization. The ILLEGAL immigrants, by pure definition, do NOT have a single solitary right under our Constitution, therefore there is no reason that we should not be exporting them back to their country of origin beginning immediately.
The cost in tax dollars is astronomical. It is bankrupting states left and right, spreading diseases in this country that were, up until recently, erradicated, and killing innocents on our highways, raping and killing people in their homes and creating higher crime rates thoughout every state in the Union.
No matter what these bleeding heart Liberals say, there is no reason at all to keep any of these ILLEGAL immigrants in this country another day, hour..not another single minute.
If they are in prison, wither send them to a prison in teir own country or as soon as they finish their term, send them back immediately. Go through all businesses, schools and whatnot and round them up. They are criminals. Just like a bank robber, liquor store robber, child abuser, tax evader, or any other lawbreaker…they are the same thing and the law is there for a reason…and the reason is not to be ignored for convinience or any other reason.
Enough is enough. Say what you want. Call me any name you see fit…I could care less. the simple fact of the matter is that the solution is very clear, is a hell of a lot cheaper and easier than anything else any other politician or advocate or anyone else can come up with or think of and it is the only one that the law dictates.
Round them up, send them back and make sure that there is every measure put in place that makes it 100% sure that they can never again come into this country without the proper steps being taken.
PERIOD!
We should sue. At least the families should sue everyone that has failed them. After all, the state of Minnesota would have no problem compiling some class-action lawsuit against – say – a tobacco company that sells a product that people smoke voluntarily KNOWING it’s bad for them to make scads of money – so there should be a class-action lawsuit against a) the company that hired the woman b) the state for letting her out on the streets via some sanctuary law to kill our children. I’m all for it, if it’s possible. It is the only way they will listen.

Who’s going to do the rounding? How do determine who is legal and who isn’t? Send them into schools? You think a first grader is going to know if he or she is here legally? And where do you put all of these people while you’re trying to determine if they’re actually illegal or not? Let me guess…camps, right?
Oh, and are you only going after the brown people because there are a lot of illegal Irish immigrants here in Boston. How are you going to round them up?

I’m with Mookie on this at #103. It seems most Americans get scared if the guys coming over arn’t European. I would prefer more Asian’s myself, normally good people that keep to themselves or arn’t disruptive. Least then we can stop defending Europe for Stupid emotinal reasons and stop being the Bus boy for the “great” European powers. And thats why some many polititions see you guys as a minority.
For one the call aims at only the Hispanics and the Southern Border. Thats seen as racist by many and a selecitve enforcement. Kinda like in the 1880’s how the Irish were treated the same, or the Germans in the 1900’s.

STEP ONE Legalize all of them that are not gang connected or wanted in civil crime (robbery, Murder, rape, or here just for the cash etc)
Step two, deport those that fit the above exceptions, shoot them if they ever come back. Harshm but sends the meassage, YOU WILL NOT RUN US OR OUR LAWS.
Step Three, Promote Hegemony, With a melting pot culture. State Language shall be ENGLISH, and do not promote multicultrualisim, but assimilation, that is not to be dominated by any paticular ethnic group. Promote Patirotisim, and wein the illegals, now legal off of the goverment subsidies and find them jobs by FORCING US COMPANIES TO GET THERE ASSES BACK INTO THE US! You want to run your company with our flag, well when you call my house that number better not be coming from India.
Step Four, incresse border Security, while at the same time reducing the fees needed to come, increassing the time on a back ground cheack and not a pay cheak, look for loyality, not green backs. And lastly devide up the numbers from such countires so that the opinion that we only want whites here will cease to exsist.
But hell all of that would make sense.

I think I will take my leave from this site as I have came to a conclusion. The Right is just as bad as the left. CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. — Police in a Chicago suburb say the Internal Revenue Service has told a 7-year-old boy he owes back taxes on $60,000 because someone else has been using the youngster’s identity to collect wages and unemployment benefits.
Officers in suburban Carpentersville said Friday the second-grader’s identity has been in use by someone else since 2001. Detectives have filed a felony identity-theft charge against 29-year-old Cirilo Centeno of Streamwood, Ill.
They accuse Mr. Centeno of using the boy’s personal information to collect more than $60,000 in pay and services while working three jobs. They say he also used the boy’s ID to buy a truck, pay bills and even collect unemployment benefits.
I read that article also.

It allows legitimate debate over illegal immigration to devolve into race-baiting and name-calling, which doesn’t do us any good. Sadly, arguments similar to the one on here are played out all too often on the 24hour cable channels, in 5 minute tit-for-tats that resolve nothing and probably make the viewers dumber for having watched them.

Yeah, it can. I’ve been thinking about getting LifeLock, from what hear it works very well. I have friends who have been victims of identity theft and it took along time to get their credit cleared. I can’t for the life of me understand why so many states are against Real I.D.
If you’ve seen the new “green cards” there are 3 holograms and 2 bar codes on them. They are probably as tamper proof as you can possibly get. Why our own citizens can’t have something similar is nuts. When I got my S.S.card in 1967 it was just a piece of cardboard. They probably still are.

I believe that the Real ID, will have a RFID chip (common machine-readable technology) that potentially could give the government the ability to track an individual by satellite, the goverment could track your movement at any given time or place. Real ID will make identity theft easier. Assume that this information will be collected by businesses, and that it will be resold to companies. It actually doesn’t matter how well the states and federal government protect the data on driver’s licenses, as there will be commercial databases with the same information. REAL ID requires that driver’s licenses contain actual addresses, and no post office boxes. There are no exceptions made for judges or police — even undercover police officers. This seems like a major security risk. That is just a few of the concerns of Real ID.
Oh, I did’nt address the States being against it, that is because it would be up to the States to pay for it, Real ID with the RFID are expensive ultimatly adversly affecting State budgets.

I have LifeLock, it’s excellent so far. Cheaper than my previous credit manager and much more proactive than reactive.
It is the federal AND state governments that have failed us. Investigations into Hormel and Tyson plants take 2 years to accomplish, and round up 200 illegals, while 2 million have streamed in since. Tyson is given a slap on the wrist, not shut down as they should be.
Illegals steal identities like candy, because credit companies are eager to give out credit to anyone. Unemployment is paid to SSNs belonging to 2-year old children – something simple to check, but never checked, because of the incompetence of a government that can’t run a 2-second database search that even the worst DBA could manage.
Should the state and federal governments ever decide to actually TRY to stop identity theft, fraud, etc, it would reduce the lure.
There are plenty of those that would cry about how the crime rate would rise if we take away the jobs. I say, why would you want to give those type of people residency, then? With no jobs or free money, the non-violent will leave of their own accord (as they got here of their own), and the criminal will be caught as any other criminal, and jailed/deported.
The argument is muddied by calls of racism – a simple delay tactic. An across-the-board solution does not care which country the illegal is from. Denial of benefits, jobs and pay will universally diminish the risk of illegal entry. I welcome illegals of all countries to leave.
But far be it from those in power to lose a potential voting base. They prefer to pander to possibility rather than protect the constituency.
The ignorance of this issue will result in more problems than any solution would cause. The eventual retaliation against illegals grows in the border states, and from the looks of it, even in Northern states. It is not a pretty situation, and I would venture that exporting illegals will likely be for their own safety soon, not for ours.
It is a scary time for America. We lose our identity not from immigrants, but from immigrating nationalists. They deny the melting pot and persist their culture in ways not like St. Patrick’s day, but more like May Day. They parade the streets demanding rights of citizens, while officials welcome them with open arms and hope for their support for their next candidacy (hence the call for no identification at voting polls).
The flash point is coming. A tragedy like the four kids on the bus could easily be the spark. Americans have been downtrodden by their own politicians for long enough.
Mule, there will always be exceptions for the well connected, yes this will be abused, but judges & undercover types will be protected.

Thank you Blind_Mule@4:15PM for those stats. It boggles whatever mind I have left to see politicians look all sorry faced and shake their little heads when the issue of real immigration enforcement is brought up. It was dropped in the debates the minute Tancredo and Hunter dropped out.
I would love to sit on the jury for this person that committed several felonies before she even got a job here. Identity theft and illegally crossing an international border should qualify for felonies, right? The sympathy for her is going to swell withing the illegal community. Before it’s over, the kids will be the guilty ones.

The Real ID could potentially be abused by a big brother scenerio (Enemy of the State) or opportunistic hackers that would use information for financial gain and for the well connected and privileged, I’m sure there would be a provision set in place for them.
I’m not sure the Real ID could be any worse than the current situation. And if you think the government will be tracking you by satellite by the chip in the card, you’re damn well important enough that they’re already tracking you by a number of measures.
RFID has no signal strength, although maybe a future satellite could theoretically read it, it would be more likely that it is read by ground devices and relayed. With that scenario, your cell phone can do that much more readily (and currently).
Verifying identities isn’t that tough – fingerprints, retina scans + Identification. No one wants to put it in place, that’s all. All the technology exists now, even my laptop has a fingerprint reader.
If it is her first offense for illegal entry it is a misdemeanor and a felony after that and yes I believe that ID theft is a State felony and if charged federally it is also a felony
Enforcing the law is not illegal, nor is it racist. Every single one of these illegals has a sympathetic story, I am sure. We can’t be running a Disneyland for the Third World. We gave the illegal’s amnesty in 1986 and were told “that’s it”. Well, that’s it.

I’m not for violence (except against violent criminals), and I think that’s how you meant it, but that’s what is going to happen if nothing is done. And nothing is being done.
I did say potentially, and that is a good point, I don’t plan on doing anything that the government would track me for unless they try and take the population over, even using a ground to sat system would be possible. But why would the government want to implement a system that has the potential for such abuse? I personally do not trust the government in these types of issues, maybe I’m paranoid, maybe I’m not, time will tell.

Let’s divide the country in two. Those who live off the teet of the government and those who believe in the rule of law and taking care of you own. We would have to build a wall to kept the libs from crossing our border.

Illegals ‘killing people’ is a huge stereotype and massive blanket statement that just doesn’t hold water on a numbers basis. There are plenty of Americans killing Americans too. The point is, there shouldn’t need to be a ‘reason’ such as this to precipitate action; they are ILLEGAL aliens – that’s all the reason there needs to be. This frothing at the mouth saying illegals are all killers is not that far removed from the rabid democrats in Berkeley calling all US Marines baby killers. You’re only making others disregard any valid points you may have.
Deport illegals aliens because they are breaking the law of the United States. Simple as that.
I’d like to add that there are many illegal aliens in this country that are hard-working and ‘good people’ – meaning people with religion and/or a strong sense of morality, in some cases stronger than many Americans I know, however the fact remains they are here illegally. Wanting to enforce the law is not a racial thing, nor is it a personal thing. If we as Americans are expected to live under certain laws, then everyone in this country should also live under those laws should they wish to remain here. Certainly when it seems those breaking the law by living here illegally appear to benefit from preferential treatment, then there is little reason for American citizens to live by the law any more.
