These are the four schoolchildren killed in the Cottonwood, MN bus accident this week.
* Hunter Javens, 9, Cottonwood.
* Jesse Javens, 13, Cottonwood (Hunter & Jesse were brothers)
* Emilee Olson, 9, Cottonwood
* Reed Stevens, 12, Marshall.

Funeral arrangements are set for three of the four bus crash victims:
Visitation for Emilee Olson will be Saturday from 6:00-9:00 and Sunday from 1:00-2:00, followed by a funeral — all at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood.
Mourners will gather for Hunter Javens, 9, and his brother Jesse Javens, 13, on Sunday from 5:00-8:00, then from 10:00-11:00 on Monday morning. The gatherings will be a Lakeview School, with a funeral service following.
Arrangements for Reed Stevens, 12, are pending.

The illegal alien van driver arrested yesterday was charged today with vehicular homicide and other crimes:
The woman appeared in District Court this morning in a wheelchair with one leg in a cast or bandage. Through an interpreter, she told the court that her name is Alianiss Morales, that she has been working in a Cottonwood cabinet shop for about a month and was living with her boyfriend in a Minneota, Minn., trailer but they broke up on the day of the crash.
Maes asked the judge to hold the woman without bail, citing her questionable identity. But the judge said that it would be wrong because none of the charges involve allegations of using false identification. However, the defendant’s attorney, Manuel P. Guerrero, of St. Paul, protested that the bail set — $400,000 without conditions or $200,000 with an assortment of conditions — was akin to denying her bail because of her financial situation.
Her next court appearance is set for April 21.
“She’s grief-stricken about the accident,” Guerrero said of his client. “She’s hurting about what happened to the kids.”
Federal immigration investigator Claude Arnold said this morning that Morales is not the woman’s name, and she is not revealing her real name. He added that she is in this country illegally, probably from Mexico.
Federal immigration spokesman Tim Counts said that the woman has been of “minimal helpfulness” to investigators, but “we will get to the bottom of matters.”
Maes told the judge that ICE officials had located an Alianiss Nunez Morales in Puerto Rico and investigators showed pictures to that woman’s grandparents of the woman in the Lyon County jail. They said the woman in jail was not their granddaughter, Maes added, which became the agency’s reason for being concerned about the jailed woman’s identity.
“Minimal helpfulness.” Doesn’t sound grief-stricken to me.

What did “Morales’s” employer know about her illegal status and when did the employer know it?
Has she evaded deportation orders? How many?
What didn’t local police ask about her immigration status when she pleaded guilty to driving without a valid license two years ago–and will the parents of the schoolchildren hold officials accountable?

Every official involved in letting her “slide” on her illegal status need to have their feet put to the fire.
I agree, she is not grief stricken at all if she is refusing to even give her real identity. What other crimes is she responsible for is the first question that comes to my mind.
Her coming here illegally has ended with four children never having the chance to experience life and their families devastated. I hope they bury this woman under the jail.
Can ordinary citizens sue city officials who fail to enforce the law, under a dereliction-of-duty situation? I would think elected officials just about everywhere have to take an oath wherein they are charged to uphold laws of the community. If they fail to uphold the duly enacted laws of the community, certainly they are violating their oaths.
But I am not a lawyer, so I don’t know.

In case this story doesn’t make you mad enough, here’s a nice condensed account of many more. Accidents happen, of course, but how many could be avoided if people who shouldn’t be here, weren’t here.
This is like a case we had here where a repeat drunk driver killed four teenaged girls returning home from the library. When it came time for the bail hearing, he appeared in a
wheelchair wearing a neckbrace and angling for sympathy. He wasn’t an illegal but being a
multiple dui offender he showed no remorse ala this woman. She is only remorseful about
being caught and the reason she won’t give her address is that at least the boyfriend should
be illegal and there may be more living in that same area if not the same trailer.
Most municipalities either cannot, by law, be sued, or there is a damages cap on law suits.
I think these people should all be sued individually and as private citizens who knowingly
broke the law and continue to break it everyday.

Looks like her current employer was Norcraft Mid Continent Cabinetry in Cottonwood. From October 2007 to January 2008 she worked for Hormel at its Jennie-O turkey processing plant in Willmar.
You will also note from the articles that the tags she had on the van were registered to a different vehicle altogether, and that there is a good chance she was engaged in identity theft.

Truck driver charged in wreck that killed deputy

Deputy remembered as serious, but fun-loving, cop A truck driver was charged with criminally negligent homicide this morning in connection with a collision that killed a Harris County sheriff’s deputy.
Jose Jesus Vieyra, 56, was being booked into the County Jail and was to be held in lieu of $35,000 bail, said Capt. John Martin, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy, Craig Miller, 43, was working undercover when the crash occurred shortly before 8 p.m., Martin said. He was a 20-year veteran of the department.
Authorities said Miller was traveling east on the access road along Interstate 10 West near Mason Road when Vieyra drove his truck out of a driveway at the Don McGill Toyota dealership.
Vieyra drove across three lanes into the path of the sport utility vehicle Miller was driving, Martin said. The SUV ran into the truck, became airborne and landed on a raised concrete embankment separating the feeder road from the Katy Freeway, Martin said.
Firefighters had to cut through the wreckage to get the deputy out. He died at the scene.
“The basis of the charge is that (Vieyra) failed to yield the right-of-way,” Martin said.
He said there was no indication that Vieyra was drunk or under the influence of drugs.
Officials with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Houston early today said Vieyra was in the country illegally,

This is so heartbreaking, even more after seeing those beautiful children. And to think that the McCain /Kennedy Bill was going to grant amnesty to even criminals and gangmembers. About 30% of the prison inmates in fed prisons are likely illegal and who knows how many in state prisons such as CA, AZ and TX. I am so sick and tired of the line that these are just hard workers. How come we cannot demand high quality imigrants,who have something to contribute to the US. What is wrong with that? If we import the 3d world here, it will become the 3d world. Just go down into some areas of Los Angeles and see what it looks like. It is disgusting. The illegals are so not in the shadows and brazen now, can you immagine after McCain or BO give them amnesty?

Who among us doesn’t think she could raise the 10% bond money from within her circle of acquaintances? I fear this woman could, indeed, raise the bail money and never be heard from or seen again, in which case these families will never see justice.
The democratic state legislature reps are apparently talking about bus seat safety as the problem, not unlicensed drivers.

That bill would have given Ms. “Morales” a Z Visa within 24 hrs of her application because the bill called for ‘a background check’ or ‘24 hours’, whichever comes first. That Visa would have allowed her to stay and work. I think I’ve come to realize that this is what I dislike the most about John McCain, he assumes, with legislation like this, that we are all idiots….eventually he’ll find that could not be further from the truth.
I’ll wait until the children are buried before I send a note to Senator Norm Coleman and Senator Amy Klobuchar with my thoughts on their amnesty votes.

We need change all right and it isn’t some weak kneed empty suite or a fully filled paint suit with record of non-accomplishment or an old war veteran full of left wing ideology hateful because he lost an election. It’s all within the reach of public servants(that’s a joke) if they had the will.

Giving them drivers licenses is not the answer because that won’t automatically make

This story evokes so much emotion for me. At one level, I am shocked and grieving for these children and the families that lost them, not knowing that that morning was the last time they would see them, especially the Javens Family. They lost two children in one tragic moment.
On another level, I am so mad I feel like I could rip someone’s head off their shoulders, if they were the least bit culpable in this woman being in the U.S. illegally and aiding and abetting her in staying here as an illegal alien.
I will hope and pray for these families. I can only imagine how devastated they were, are and will be, for some time to come. But, I also hope they sue any and everyone who is complicit in allowing this illegal alien to be here, when her absence from here would have prevented such an horrific tragedy.
May God rest the souls of these innocent children and bring comfort to their families.
Minnesota has been and will be a sanctuary state. Worthington is south of Cottonwood and is a sanctuary city. St. James is southeast and is a sanctuary city. The schools have gone to hell and employees are reminded that to inquire about citizenship is against the law (I guess law abiding is for Americans only). I don’t know if Cottonwood is a sanctuary city, but it is probably like these other two towns I mentioned. And the Twin Cities - we are becoming the tower of babel. The politicians don’t care about identity theft, stealing plates, no driver license, no regard to immigration law - it doesn’t matter to our political elite. We have found bipartisanship - in our leaders not enforcing the laws. My thoughts are with the families of the American citizens who died. Again though, nothing will change. Even if we prevent amnesty they will keep coming and coming and coming and coming….. does it really matter if there is amnesty or not?
Once again, one of these disgusting people goes out and tries to make the perpertrator appear to be the victim. We are all supposed to feel sorry for this poor, poor woman, who was not supposed to be in this country, was not supposed to be driving, and had she not been breaking the law, these four young people would be alive today.

I have noticed that ever since the N.J. slayings that crimes committed by illegal aliens has received minimal coverage by the MSM. They fear that the same outrage that followed the N.J. murders which stopped shamnisty in it’s tracks last time, will hamper their future efforts.
The MSM worked hard to keep border security candidates out of the presidential election. We must work locally to elect congressmen and senators in Nov. All of the House and one third of the Senate come up for reelection every two years. They can’t influence that many races at once, so that will be our best chance to get Pro border security people into congress.
Because we know that our next president will not help us.
Before the primaries, border security ranked second only to the economy in polls that asked people what issue was most importend to them. Now with the two likely nominees it will barely get a mention.
This took quite a concerted effort by the MSM. It speaks volumes at how powerful the people behind this are.
We must follow the lead of ARIZONA & OKLAHOMA and get state laws passed that discourage illegal aliens from our borders.

There’s a website called immigrationshumancost dot org which someone started and is sadly out of date, but shows how many Americans have been killed by illegals.
I wish this site could be updated with every single crime since the last one posted. It would be a horrific testament to our indifferent elected officials who don’t care for anything except votes.
Illegals caught doing any crime should be held without bond. This woman, granted bond, would flee back to Mexico, for sure. Probably hide there for some months, and be back across to some other city. New identity and new job. Right now, though, she and her lawyer will try very hard to get sympathy from whoever will grant it.
Illegals should not get a hearing for anything.

She crossed our borders illegally with the intention of killing somebody. This illegal person came here knowing that she would be driving illegaly on our roads and highways. She knew she could likely be in a position to hurt, maim or kill someone; that equates to suliminal intentions.
I have zero sympathy for this murderous woman. I’d like to see her, along with the host of other illegal alien murderers, dropped back in their own countries from 35,000 feet up.

If I have my facts straight, a small town in PA last year adopted tough immigration measures (revoking business licenses for hiring illegals, imposing fines on landlords renting to illegals) which were subsequently ruled unconstitutional on the grounds that immigration policy is the purview of the federal, not local, governments. I believe my overall facts on this are straight, but could be mistaken on some details.
But on the other hand, you have these “sanctuary cities” which are doing the same thing: setting immigration policy at the local level and thumbing their noses at the federal government.
So which is it? Either immigration policy is the responsibility of the feds which would make both cases unconstitutional, or it’s not, in which case both sanctuary and anti-sanctuary cities would be allowed under a state’s rights argument. But you can’t have one set of measures being constitutional without the other being constitutional as well.
I’m inclined to believe that both should be unconstitutional, as immigration policy is set by the feds. But as I’m not a constitutional lawyer, I freely admit that I could be wrong on this.
But if I’m not, why aren’t the feds cracking down on the sanctuary cities (I know this is a rhetorical question)? Either we’re a nation of laws or we’re not. And frankly, living in northern VA, I’m getting damn tired of seeing illegals riding their damn bikes along the highways and running across 6 lanes of traffic all willy-nilly. I’d be happy with deportation if it just got rid of that, much less all the identity thieves, sex criminals, drunks, and other riff-raff that make up our “decent, hard-working” underclass.

Yup, because of what happened to the kids, she goes to jail, and probably (maybe) deported. So, I can believe all that. I would be hurting and grief-stricken too, in her shoes. Oh, she’s not upset over the kids, it’s what happens now. That nice life is temporary over, whether she serves time, or finds enough people to bail her out to Mexico and hiding.

I believe most people will say yes to that.
I believe, too, most folks agree that we should be enforcing the laws against illegal immigration. If they had been enforced this tragedy and others would never have occured.
On average, every day in America, a dozen or so citizens of this country die at the hands of or as the results of illegals actions.

Just another example of the unintended consequences of the 50 million abortions performed since Roe v. Wade. Stop and think for a minute. Would we need an illegal workforce of 20 million if we had our own native born workforce? What about the 40 million welfare folks who, for some reason, just can’t do any work? Do the math: 90 million Americans unavailable and replaced by 20 million illegals. Our national policies are just plain stupid.
One additional point. If we do not know this murderer’s national identity, then why assume she is from South of the Border. She just might be from East of the Border - mid-East for example.
It is said that a healthy open society demands the free flow of information. But where is the free flow of information when it comes to illegal immigrants and the crimes they commit? Our government, with full support from the Main Stream Media, has been deliberately withholding information from us in the name of Political Correctness. When I first read this story in the MSM, there was no mention of any illegals being involved. It is only through the efforts of bloggers like Michelle that the free flow of information is kept alive.
If illegals are as law abiding as Bush, McCain, Geraldo and the MSM claim, why not publish the statistics that could prove their point. Are they afraid they would be proven wrong? Why not tell us what percentage of inmates are non-citizens? Surely the government could provide this information. How about how many murders, rapes, or deadly traffic accidents are committed by non-citizens? If the numbers are truely as low as they claim, why withhold these statistics from us? What else are we not smart enough to understand that they are hiding from us?
Tough sh!t! I wonder if it has brought an undue financial burden on the families of the children that are now dead and have to be buried because of someone who should’nt have been here in the first place?

While the government does not keep statistics on crimes by illegals, there are groups who provide estimates. I found this report in WorldNetDaily.com that is eye opening: Illegal aliens murder 12 Americans daily.

I’m in favor of booting them at 3500 ft. so they would have enough time to think about what was comming, and why they were in that perdicament in the first place; but you have a good idea, it might even give their governments pause before encouraging their “hard working” people to break our laws, clean up costs you know.

Why is that even a question?
At this point we know nothing about the origins or overall intentions of this woman - yet we make assumptions about her country of origin. Until there is a definitive identification, we should hold everything open.
It is time to stop screwing around. Enough of this, “the country would come to a halt if there were no Illegals working” garbage. It is time we stopped walking on eggshells to appease people that have no business being here. the ACLU has no say in this, as does any other Liberal organization. The ILLEGAL immigrants, by pure definition, do NOT have a single solitary right under our Constitution, therefore there is no reason that we should not be exporting them back to their country of origin beginning immediately.
The cost in tax dollars is astronomical. It is bankrupting states left and right, spreading diseases in this country that were, up until recently, erradicated, and killing innocents on our highways, raping and killing people in their homes and creating higher crime rates thoughout every state in the Union.
No matter what these bleeding heart Liberals say, there is no reason at all to keep any of these ILLEGAL immigrants in this country another day, hour..not another single minute.
If they are in prison, wither send them to a prison in teir own country or as soon as they finish their term, send them back immediately. Go through all businesses, schools and whatnot and round them up. They are criminals. Just like a bank robber, liquor store robber, child abuser, tax evader, or any other lawbreaker…they are the same thing and the law is there for a reason…and the reason is not to be ignored for convinience or any other reason.
Enough is enough. Say what you want. Round them up, send them back and make sure that there is every measure put in place that makes it 100% sure that they can never again come into this country without the proper steps being taken.

We should sue. At least the families should sue everyone that has failed them. After all, the state of Minnesota would have no problem compiling some class-action lawsuit against - say - a tobacco company that sells a product that people smoke voluntarily KNOWING it’s bad for them to make scads of money - so there should be a class-action lawsuit against a) the company that hired the woman b) the state for letting her out on the streets via some sanctuary law to kill our children. I’m all for it, if it’s possible. It is the only way they will listen.
