Pakistan lifts YouTube ban; jihadis breathe sigh of relief!
What goes around, comes around. After earning a notorious reputation in the blogosphere for stamping out videos critical of Islam and the Danish cartoon debacle because they contained “inappropriate content” and threatening to suspend accounts of anti-jihad video creators, YouTube got gagged by Pakistan over…a video critical of Islam and the Danish cartoon debacle. The news today is that Pakistan has lifted the restrictions. For now:
Pakistan’s telecommunications regulator said Tuesday it has lifted restrictions on YouTube that knocked out access to the video-sharing Web site in many countries for up to two hours over the weekend.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority told Internet service providers to restore access to the site after the removal of what it called a “blasphemous” video clip, authority spokeswoman Nabiha Mahmood said.
Pakistan ordered the site blocked on Friday over a clip featuring a Dutch lawmaker who has said he planned to release a movie portraying Islam as fascist and prone to inciting violence against women and homosexuals.
Mahmood said attempts to access the offending clip on Tuesday afternoon brought up a message explaining that it had been removed on ethical grounds.
She said the authority had posted a complaint through the Web site — a facility open to any registered user — but had not been in contact with the administrators of YouTube.com, which is owned by Internet giant Google, Inc.
While several other videos featuring the politician, Geert Wilders, would remain visible to Pakistani Internet users, Mahmood said the one which was removed had been “totally anti-Quranic” and “very blasphemous.”
She said it promoted Wilders’ upcoming movie, but provided no details about its content.
The authority aimed to restrict the site only in Pakistan, but the move inadvertently cut access for many of the world’s Internet users for up to two hours on Sunday.
YouTube said the next day that it was caused by a network in Pakistan.
“We are investigating and working with others in the Internet community to prevent this from happening again,” YouTube said in an e-mailed statement.
This isn’t the first time a country has blocked YouTube over alleged “insults.” Turkey did it last March.
Internet jihadis who depend on YouTube to disseminate their hateful, murderous filth, meanwhile, are breathing a sigh of relief.

Oh the Irony, an attempt by Pakistan to block Muhammad cartoons on youtube will also block the thousands upon thousands of copies of terrorist propaganda!

I was almost upset that Pakistan blocked Youtube there for a minute. But considering the infestation of pro al-Qaeda propaganda on Youtube and Youtube’s poor performance in removing pro terror users and videos. I’ve decided that the ban will block far more pro al-Qaeda propaganda than videos that are offensive to Islam.
Pakistan is a market where al-Qaeda seeks to radicalize and recruit young Muslims through their presence on the web. Any reduction in the amount of al-Qaeda propaganda available there is welcome in my book.

I bring this up here because this debate about the photos and who put them out is still going today.
This is very disturbing when you consider BHO wants to be POTUS. Islamofacism is pushing hard against western civilization and democracy around the world. This calls into question his judgment and just exactly whose side he is on! This is a must read!
I’m with Howie. I wish they had left the ban in place. There is far more pro-terrorist stuff out there that would have been blocked than the other.
Liberals forget what political cartoons are for.
Nations block internet political content.
Crazy Islamic Extremists threaten speech.
Artists lean heavily to the left, and fail to criticize evil. Conversely, they fear or respect the murderous terrorists. Thank God for the few (Danish & Dutch) who stand alone in calling out these evils.
Important media businesses deal in lies and accept censure from bully nations and terrorists.
Seems like the world we live in today is one in which our freedoms of expression and speech are challenged more than ever. The USA has always been a bastion of these freedoms. Will we continue to be?

“Suspicious traveler leaps from MIA concourse, breaks bones
A traveler was arrested Monday after he bolted from security screeners at Miami International Airport, jumped from a second floor concourse and broke his arm and ribs, authorities said.
Transportation and Security Administration officials became suspicious of Faid Beydoun as he stood in a security line. When Beydoun’s travel documents also raised concerns, agents asked him to step out of line for a secondary screening.
Beydoun, who was carrying multiple passports, then ran from security screeners, jumped 25 feet off the second floor concourse and broke his arm and ribs, The Miami Herald reported.”

“Two other men, also headed to Los Angeles, were taken off a later flight still on the tarmac. They told investigators they had paid for the man’s plane ticket and that he was their Miami Beach party guide.
None of the men were found with any weapons or dangerous material.
Miami-Dade police, in a news release late Monday, charged Beydoun with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence.
His jail record lists an alias: Miguel Garcia.
At least one of the other men hails from Bahrain. The two men described Beydoun as a well-known party promoter who knows the best U.S. night spots.
The men had apparently been partying in Miami-Dade, spending lavishly.
At Concourse D, just after 2 p.m., Beydoun passed through a security checkpoint but was flagged for a secondary inspection by federal Transportation Security Administration officers.
He had a Lebanese passport and a fraudulent U.S. passport, investigators said”

Who wants to bet the guy ends up suing the airport for his injuries. After all, they were obviously profiling him and I’m sure he fled only because he felt his life was in danger.
See, what they don’t understand is that what is ‘blasphemous’ for one religion does not necessarily make it ‘blasphemous’ for other religions. There are no laws concerning ‘blasphemy’ in a secular society.
They don’t seem to understand that their Koran is blasphemous to Christianity when it says that Christ is not God. So by the account that all ‘blasphemy’ should be censored, then every Koran must be censored because it is blasphemous against Christianity.
I can’t wait until this argument and debate goes mainstream. This is one Christian lawyer-like dude who is ready to call into question their entire way of life and culture. I would destroy any muslim in a reason debate over what should and should not be acceptable in a world with multiple faiths.
I’d crush them. . . bring it on.
