The illegal alien Cottonwood. MN van driver charged with killing four young children in a horrible schoolbus crash had a bit of a history with the law. Blind law that apparently ignored her immigration status–and that of her “boyfriend” as well. Gee, wonder what his status was. Go figure:
The woman charged with causing the fatal school bus crash in southwestern Minnesota was pulled over by police a month before the accident on the same highway, and in what appears to have been the same minivan.
Her boyfriend, who was driving the van at the time, was ticketed for driving without a license, according to a Minnesota Public Radio report.
Early on Jan. 16, 2008, a woman who identified herself as Alianiss Morales was riding in the minivan on a stretch of Highway 23, about 40 miles from the spot of last week’s fatal crash that killed four students from Lakeview Public School. A Kandiyohi County deputy pulled over the Plymouth Voyager after noting the license plate wasn’t easily visible.
The driver, Samuel Rivera Melendez, had a learner’s permit but not a license. His girlfriend told the officer she had no state ID card or driver’s license. Melendez would later pay $187 in fines.
“Morales” is really Guatemalan illegal alien Olga Marina Franco.
Who coached her to lie to police about her identity and who told her to say she was from Mexico?
Someone should start asking her employer.

One of the victims had a twin sister who turned 10 at her brother’s funeral:
A girl whose twin brother and older brother were among four children killed in a bus crash turned 10 at their funeral Monday, with 1,400 mourners in a school gym pausing to sing “Happy Birthday” to her.
The service for Jesse Javens, 13, and Hunter Javens, 9, included some painful smiles meant for Hunter’s twin, Sasha.
“Hunter would want to celebrate his twin sister’s birthday. Jesse would want to celebrate his little sister’s birthday,” the Rev. Gloria Anderson said at Lakeview School in the southwest Minnesota town of Cottonwood, near the site of last week’s crash.

How does a kid have a “happy birthday” while they’re burying her twin??? that is that saddest thing… I am so sick of these illegals and their “rights”! And I am especially sick of this ridiculous “sanctuary city” stuff that allows a cop to pull over obvious illegals and LET THEM GO!!!!!!!
Are any of the local papers/stations questioning her employer about her paperwork ? Make him produce copies of the ID, and SSN used to to fill out the I-9 required for every new hire.
Congress has no intent to fix the issue, it seems. Chertoff likes his virtual fence that a decent shot or a pair of wire cutters can disable.
The only way to stop this madness is to STOP it, not coddle it and pander to the people who enable and encourage.

Then maybe it’s time we boot them all out. I am getting tired of “throw the bums out — except my bum.”
And while we’re at it, let’s start electing members of Congress who will hold the executive branch accountable for real problems, like why they aren’t enforcing immigration laws.

Here is the very first example they use. It’s story problem math so put your thinking caps on:
Doesn’t that equate to roughly 50% of the foreign population being incarcerated?
And more than 0 is over-represented to me.
Same thing happens in my area often.
What happens? Nothing.
Just what can we do folks?
Voting for those that claim to protect us and build the fence, in my opinion, are just spewing BS to get our votes.
I predict a civil war very soon.
Every time I read something on this story, my heart just aches. Four innocent children (two of them from one single family) lost their lives in a senseless and preventable accident. I’ve seen a lot over the years and dealt with some of the worst scum ever to inhabit this earth with us. I have no sympathy of any kind for anyone that has injured or taken the life of an innocent child. I pray the families of the victims find peace.
But, in the same prayer, I hope the politicians remove their heads from their posteriors and do something that will prevent similar incidents in the future.
AC # 7 I agree 100%. But we can’t even get a decent conservative past the msm to run for POTUS.. And Pelosi and Reid don’t seem to be to worried.
It would be better to have numbers, instead of percentages to guage what we are looking at.
The author of the study seems to prefer the use of percentages which caters to her argument by keeping things vague.
The American-born males she cites as being higher stands to reason, since, at least for now, they constitute a greater majority of the American population. However, if we were to look at the number of foreign-born males in the country, compared with the actual number of foreign-born males incarcerated, I suspect the percentage of them is considerabley higher.
But, then again, that doesn’t even take into account that many of them are illegal and get turned loose with a promise to return for their court hearing and never show back up. What a surprise, huh?
So in a nutshell, I think Butcher’s Piehl’s and Liao’s piece is faulty and intentionally misleading. But, that is just my humble opinion from working in the criminal justice system for quite a few years.
How many more Iofemi’s, Jesse’s and Hunter’s have to die before something is done about it? I wish I knew, but I take no solace in knowing that their lives haven’t been enough to bring about change already. That is what truly saddens me. Their lives were snuffed out before they had a chance to blossom. Yet day after day we have to hear about the plight of an illegal immigrant, alien or whatever. Never a story about their victims. It is shameful how their lives mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. I pray everyday that things change for the better here in America. While I’ll never go so far as to say that I have never in my adult life been proud of my country (because it simply isn’t true) -I will say that I am not proud of the fact that our politicians have turned a blind eye to murder committed by these people who shouldn’t be here in the first place.

We’ve buried a lot of people in my area of South West Texas due to the helpful influence of illegal alien invaders.
People who care about their own community are not slow to realize, the second someone crosses the line, they are stealing from the true owners, same as thieves when they break into a home.
It isn’t about the ability of the particular homeowner to bear the burden – it is about the crime – and the viability of the home.
Tolerating, promoting theft and murder isn’t a benefit to the criminal.
It is ravaging the community, and the natural and vital bonds of community upon which EACH member of the community depends for their very life as well as the quality of their life.
The day will come when the politicians and bureaucrats who are abusing their power of office against the citizens will have to answer for their conduct.
It will be a very sad day, and I am sure most of them will pretend tremendous shock.
I don’t think they are that stupid. If you do, go to their home and pick something up and try to walk out with it. You will see that ditzy, empty-headed look disappear in a hot New York moment!

As for throw the bums out, I’m still voting in the Tidewater area and Thelma Davis is a “good egg”. As for my Senators-well Warner will be gone soon to be replaced by another Warner who is even farther to the left and Webb, well calling his office is like asking my 3 y/o political questions-he gives me a dumb look, Webb’s staff gives a 5 second dumb silence and then some stupid answer that he’s “researching or doesn’t comment” or something equally stupid.
Geraldo was on O’Reilly the other night yapping about the poor immigrant and I turned to see what the old movie was on TCM and watched that for a few minutes.
Nothing will be done unless and until a member of Congress has a child or immediate family member who is killed by one of these “gentle souls” as they’re so often referred to.
How about the three families that lost their children start a class-action lawsuit. One against the federal gov’t for failure to enforce the immigration laws, a second against MN for their catch and release policy and against Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Worthington for being sanctuary cities. Here’s the kicker – sue for $1 each. In other words, it’s the principle, not the money.
Finding a lawyer would be tough but you might make it work.
Think about that. The jury would probably side with you because it’s only a buck. No guarantees on how far up the judicial food chain you’d have to go to get the ultimate victory, but the $1 publicity wouldn’t hurt either.
And we make the liberals and RINOs look like the fools they are for supporting illegal aliens.
I understand the sadness the grief these families feel. But at some point, rage is going to set in for the gov’t failures.
This story has flown under the radar but just last week a local sheriff was killed on duty by a truck pulling across 4 lanes of traffic driven by…you guessed it, an illegal from Mexico.
Peejz, you would really need to know what percentage of the general population is incarcerated to calculate what percentage of a group is incarcerated.
The thing that bothers me about the story you linked is that the author talks about immigrants in general. I don’t have a problem with immigrants, it’s the illegal immigrants I take issue with.
They don’t respect our laws in coming here, I don’t hold out much hope that they’ll suddenly become model citizens if granted amnesty.
Reply to John Holliday… not just them but also her employer. I feel that the families should sue the employer as well for providing her a “reason” and opportunity to stay here.
I also feel that we as citizens should sue our government officials and any employer who knowingly provides jobs to illegal aliens. Espeically those who look the other way and don’t enforce our laws by providing us protection against the invasion of illegals entering this country.
Its not about the money but to get them to finally recognize that we are serious about better and enforced laws to protect our interests, namely our children who are being killed by persons who have no business in this country in the first place.
Sure we have others who are legally here doing the same things but if we do more to enforce those laws and prevent a fraction of illegals being here we may be saving some lives, more than if we just sit and do nothing.

We would like you to have Hunters MP3 player that we got him for his 10th Birthday, he won’t be needing it since he did’nt make it to his 10th Birthday Celebration and won’t be listening to it, he will be listening to a choir of angels. We thought you might be able to find an illegal alien family that might enjoy these items.
From the parents of Emily Olson we would like you to have Emilys 4-H jacket, she loved riding her horse and participating in 4-H activities, she won’t be participating in 4-H anymore, she is riding high in heaven now, so we thought it only fitting that you should have it, and find an illegal alien family that might find some use for it.

I realize that law enforcement can generally do only what the elected crap weasels tell them – but they should speak their consciences when they have been told to look the other way and enforce only certain types of crime that certain types of people commit. An average of 25 Americans die everyDAY at the hands of illegal aliens. When is enough, enough? How can stats like this be ignored?
And, yet, Nancy Pelosi thinks it’s a grand idea to try to present yet another “amnesty” in allowing millions of “honest” illegals to stay in our country. A job requirement for that arrogant, pandering, gutless wonder should be that they have to attend the funerals of children killed by these “harmless” illegals. I have to wonder, how would she feel if one of the grandchildren she brought to her “coronation” last year were a victim of her legislation?
My son got to go to the California Democratic Convention in San Diego and is now all on board the Obama Express, AND actually thinks Ms. Pelosi is “for” America! This is definitely not the Minnesota I grew up in.. not that California is ahead by much as far as being a liberal bastion and sanctuary state.

As the body count from the various crimes of these illegal invaders rises daily I have concluded the Federal, State, County, and City Governments will not protect most of us from this invasion. The time is quickly approaching when the private citizen will begin to fight back outside of the law resulting in what I fear will be a full blown civil war to retake this country from the invaders and the entire PC culture slowly destroying every founding principle of this nation.

It gets WORSE! Police had THREE chances to get her off the road and out of the country! And failed three times.
In 1996 – she had a no driver license violation. No identification as an illegal alien.

The license plates on Morales’ (Plymouth Voyager) van were registered to a 1991 Chevrolet four-door sedan and were last registered with the state in May 2004, according the Department of Public Safety.
According to the criminal complaint, Morales was driving a 1998 Plymouth Voyager without a valid drivers’ license, …

Try using a relevent metric: what percentage of the foreign-born are illegal aliens as opposed to legal residents, and in what proportion are they represented in the federal prison population?
And this is a conservative estimate. There are studies that suggest that illegal aliens comprise as much as 17 percent of the federal prison population.
