Try using a relevent metric: what percentage of the foreign-born are illegal aliens as opposed to legal residents, and in what proportion are they represented in the federal prison population?

Adult illegal aliens represented 3.1 percent of the total adult population of the country in 2003.1 By comparison, the illegal alien prison population represented a bit more than 4.5 percent of the overall prison population. Therefore, deportable criminal aliens were more than half again as likely to be incarcerated as their share of the population.

And this is a conservative estimate. There are studies that suggest that illegal aliens comprise as much as 17 percent of the federal prison population.

I can hear Juan Hernandez saying that illegals are good people only searching for a better life. Can Mr. Hernandez, or any of our Presidential candidates for that matter, please explain to me if the lives of 4 American children are an acceptable sacrifice?

In 1996 – she had a no driver license violation. No identification as an illegal alien.
