Look who’s calling for the Marines now

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 28, 2008 03:31 PM

Oh, Medea.

Melanie Morgan shares a story from Iraq war vet Sgt. Eamon Kelly USMC:

“While we were at the protest in Berkeley from 12 to 4 PM a white volvo drove by and a man spat upon code pink. They chased him down the street and got into a verbal altercation. The police were NO WHERE in sight. That’s not the best part, ready for this? Medea Benjamin yelled and I quote “Marines!” she actually yelled for our help because this man had stepped out of his car. Lol. I even asked her if she was yelling Police and she told me “I said Marines” then put her arm around my friend Allen (the Marine vet) Ironic? Ok back to the emails!! “

God bless those “Bush death pimps,” eh, Medea?

And what was that Medea said again just a few weeks ago? Oh, yeah: “If it weren’t for people like the people in Berkeley, standing up for what they believe, we’d be living under Hitler.”

See what others have said

For the Marines to come to Code Pinks aid would it not be a violation of federal law?

The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385) passed on June 16, 1878 after the end of Reconstruction. The Act prohibits most members of the federal uniformed services (Army, Air Force, and State National Guard forces when such are called into federal service) from exercising nominally state law enforcement police or peace officer powers that maintain “law and order” on non-federal property (States, their counties and municipal divisions) in the former Confederate states.
The statute generally prohibits federal military personnel and units of the United States National Guard under federal authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within the United States, except where expressly authorized by the Constitution or Congress. The Coast Guard is exempt from the Posse Comitatus Act.
The Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act substantially limit the powers of the federal government to use the military for law enforcement.

    That’s the point, Ron.

This individual whom we are discussing is the first I’m aware of who publicly broadcast his biological function, which itself is enough to leave one speechless…then, to make sure people really, really noticed, he pointed to the location of his “deposit” on a map.

As I remember, even in first grade, at the time of ca-ca jokes, I and classmates were way, way beyond that stage, that degree of exhibitionist attention-demanding.

I agree with you, Ron…,”I do think that is a first.”

Let’s admit it: it’s very, very scary that such an individual has a vote that counts as much as the vote of any other individual.

Also, it’s very, very sad that the odds are overwhelming that this individual will never, ever, ever understand why his public, exhibitionist, attention-drawing statement and map are so inappropriate, so immature, so damn WRONG.

In fact, that’s it in a nutshell:
This individual proudly maintains that he did nothing WRONG by publicly describing his business.
Shame is evidently not in this individual’s vocabulary.

But, let’s look on the bright side:

At the very least, this individual has provided us irrefutable, evidentiary proof for why we are correct in dismissing him, in not taking him seriously (unless he were to come to political power…or, God forbid, become a teacher, or get hold of a gun).

Next time, and every time this individual leaves a post, some one could justifiably refer readers to this individual’s blog; then, the readers could decide for themselves whether to take this individual seriously, and would not have to take my, nor Ron’s (if I may list you, Ron) word, nor the word of anyone else for it.

    OK.
Time for the obligatory, indignant, outraged, lame rebuttal.
    …Four,…Three,…Two….

I’m not going anywhere near your adventure in the park story.

About this thread, I agree that this story sounds a little too good to be true. However, it appears to be brought to us by Malanie Morgan, and she isn’t really given to flights of fancy.

I am with you in one respect, of course — I want to see some kind of evidence, or at least hear it from more than one source.

Then I’ll laugh my posterior clean off.

    Hmmm,

    How cheap.

Tom Fox that one guy who was in Iraq showing solidarity with those that cut his head off martyred himself for his cause. I think Mr. Fox and his group very wrongheaded and perhaps foolish, but they mean it.

The Code Pinkos have no clue, if they shriek for the Marines because a Volvo driving man got out of his car…

God Bless the Marines and those that turned the other cheek to do the right thing!

I’m both amused and disappointed that Rusty has been allowed to hijack another thread and moved the discourse from Code Pink to his precisely placed fecal deposit.

Can we talk about the Marines? Code Pink? Anyone? Bueller?

I must confess that I’m likely partly responsible for the hijacking.

But, the intention was noble…to show everyone what some posters proudly, publicly tell the rest of us about themselves; then, the rest of us can decide how much attention, weight, and precious time, if any at all, we should give to the poster in question.

    There.
    I feel much better now.

    Back to topic.

Regarding the Code Pink idiots…they seem merely to be no more than anarchists and nihilists.
I have absolutely no idea whether this event actually occurred, or whether these clowns staged it.
Let’s wait and see if any more info comes out about this “incident”.

The reason I believe it is that Melanie Morgan said an Iraw war veteran stated it as fact. MM posted it. Good enough for me. I will take the liberals approach to this. Let them prove that it didn’t happen.

Ron Rockstar has a most excellent idea: Let’s leave it up to the left to prove it didn’t happen. I realize it would be better if we had confirmation, but we know Ms. Benjamin will never admit to it, and if it were caught on tape she’d say it was somehow taken out of context.

So I think I will go ahead now and assume it did happen.

Fourstringfuror, yeah, sometimes the jokes do just write themselves. Sometimes they just drop out at the most inconvenient times and you’d better find a way and a place to deal with it.

This individual whom we are discussing is the first I’m aware of who publicly broadcast his biological function, which itself is enough to leave one speechless…then, to make sure people really, really noticed, he pointed to the location of his “deposit” on a map.

Legal definition of “litering” via the California Penal Code (at least the last time I enforced it): “Placing or causing to be placed, any foul or offensive matter on public property.”

Brilliant! Admitting to breaking the law on a national/international blog. Do you think there is a reason that most public parks (at least in liberal California) no longer allow dogs? Now we have to criminalize liberal pizza eating beer swillers from park usage. Did you even take the time to dig a hole first? Oh, I forgot…you couldn’t hold the blowout…eewww!!!

Well, if that is true, why don’t they arrest Code Pink? They’re about as foul and offensive as you can get. :)
