   CBS’s source for the story turns out to be a low level campaign person whose own well documented past contradicts their reporting.

   This piece is actually worse than rathergate. At least with the National Guard story, there were forged documents that helped the story along. Here, there are no documents, no corroborating accounts and no evidence of any sort supporting the allegations other than the words of what appeares to be a disturbed woman.

   I recall that CBS brought in Dick Thornburgh, the former Attorney General under Bush 41, to sort out the Rathergate mess and to make recommendations for changes to CBS to insure that Rathergate would never happen again. So much for being serious about reporting the truth.

    Couldn’t Jill Simpson be prosecuted for not telling the whole truth under oath? That would force her to recant her current lies or face punishment for not disclosing this information previously while under oath.

    Wait, I forgot that lying under oath is only selectively applied to people like Scooter Libby. Everyone else gets off with a plea deal or maybe the loss of their law license for a year or two.

One of the big-time 60 minutes correspondents, I don’t rememebr which one, had my co-worker show him the models that were alledgedly running away on their own.

    They sat in several different cars, and despite their best efforts they couldn’t make the cars accelerate unless you absolutely wanted them to go. They floored the accelerator while holding the brake and the cars wouldn’t budge.

    When the story came out — no mention of this set of experiments. Just a bunch of regurgitated nonsense from some customers that couldn’t substantiate their claims.

    The bottom line — 60 Minutes only reported information supporting their world-view, and nothing that disputes it.

    I think you have that wrong. Gross stupidity of the general populace makes the MSM do these things. All the MSM has to do is out it out there. Truth is not even relevant any more. It is about doing damage. They know exactly what they are doing.

    Implicate the Repubs in anything made up and the populace will just believe it a gospel. Even if they retract the story it will come around November 30.

The interview took place on our property where I had witnessed an accident the Agent was involved in. Things started off well enough with the interview but then turned ugly.
