Blogging while female

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 4, 2008 09:28 AM

John Hawkins at Right Wing News has a fun piece profiling female conservative bloggers, including Pamela Gellar, Rachel Lucas,, Amanda Carpenter, Ericka Anderson, and yours truly.

***

Rachel Lucas plots to rule the world:

Oh and based on your feedback and on what Malkin says in her part of the article, I’m going to try a bold new experiment: posting more than once or twice a day to see what it does to traffic as part of my scheme of capitalist greed. Watch out, next thing you know I will own FoxNews and shall rename it Tough [Sh*t], America.

I would gladly work for a Lucas-owned Fox News with that motto.

If she’ll let me, I’ll host “Suck It Up.”

What, you didn’t hook your friend and Allah’s heartthrob, MKH, up with being a “top five” conservative blogger? :-)

It’s a great piece. My guess — as a white-male oppressor — is that younger women are culturally expected to be liberal. It’s something of conventional wisdom that young, especially educated, women start off liberal and become more conservative once they get married and have kids. So I think it sets up some cognitive dissonance in the minds of liberals when they see nice, attractive, intelligent women expressing conservative points of view. And that’s my dime-store pop psychology for today…

Why is it so surprising that women conservative bloggers make more sense than male liberal bloggers? They certainly don’t whimper and whine like the liberals do.

Great looks will not by themselves translate to a succesful poitical blog. A blog about Russian politics would not get a lot of hits if Anna Kournikova was the daily blogger.
That being said, that moron at the New Republic who complained that Michelle Malkin showed up announced at the New Republic office has got to be the only male on the planet who would object to Michelle Malkin showing up unannounced at his office.

I always thought female bloggers on the right were far more pleasing to the eye, both in looks AND the way they write. Those on the left always seems angry and vitriolic, like they’re auditioning as a song writer for Alanis Moriseete….

I enjoy intelligent conservative women, which are the type of women I find myself attracted to (on reason I married Mrs. Boomer). I also find conservative women to be more attractive then those that shrill for the liberal agenda. I guess hate and a limited vocabulary along with an inability to use verifiable facts to support a point of view can make you ugly. LOL! :)

Keep up the great work Michelle! Your sites are among several conservative sites I visit throughout my day to keep up with what is really going on in the world.

I think that was less because I am woman than because I am a conservative minority. …I think that it always has made a lot of people uncomfortable and irate because I happen to be these three things: a conservative, a woman, and a minority. In a lot of people’s lives, that’s just such a toxic, unacceptable combination. If you look at people who have that combination in public life, they all have similar stories….

    IMHO, you’re only the best!

If people only knew what I look like half the time…

After 27 yrs of marriage, nothing would shock me.

Great short interviews of Malkin and company. Not surprised at Keith Olberman’s comments. Everytime I watched him for even a few seconds, he sounds like the morons I knew in Junior High School. I’m not a Republican and I still can’t stand the guy. If Pat Buchanan had said some of the things like Keithy boy, he’d be pilloried by the media. So, keep up the good fight Women bloggers!!

I teach high school in a public school, and a student made me a poster for my room last week with an illustration of a vacuum and the caption, “Mrs. ****’s plan for fixing America: SUCK IT UP!”

I was so touched. “Winning hearts and minds” out here!

It was a good article. Good interview MM. That Amanda Carpenter is a doll. I really haven’t seen much of her, but every time I see her she speaks sense. She’s probably one of the more reasonable pundits (other than MM of course). . .

Amanda just seems like such a sweet, smart, fun girl.
