Well, people, it’s Super Tuesday II. Or “Alamo Tuesday,” as Amanda Carpenter has dubbed it. Can you feel the excitement and electricity in the air? Somewhere buried under layers of ennui? Look hard. You can unearth a spark or two. Zogby (grain of salt alert) shows the Big She “rebounding” but “barely ahead” in Texas and tied in Ohio. WaPo says if she can eke out a win in either of those states, voters want her to stick it out. Doesn’t look like she’s going anywhere, whatever the final tally shows. It’s all so–what are the words she used last night?–ah, yes: So dreadfully pathetic and horrible.
Fortunately, the NYPost photoshoppers are in fine form.

Got an e-mail about annoying automated calls in the middle of the night in Ohio. Wonder if anyone got any 3 a.m. calls? Anyone get one and want to share how it affected your voting?
I don’t know if you have hear about the 2:00 am automated calls yet. On the way to the office today there was a lot of discussion about getting called VERY EARLY. It sounds like this could change the outcome of the primary.

Voted this morning. I was tempted to vote for Hunter or Thompson, but didn’t want to waste my vote. I went with Huckabee.
Why do I feel like I need to take a second shower this morning, though?
I was glad to see the follow-up questions on the ballot:
Would you support legislation requiring local police and law enforcement to enforce immigration laws?
Would you support legislation requiring a valid government photo ID to vote?
I couldn’t get the automated voting machine to let me answer in size 48 capital letters, but hit “yes” repeatedly for good measure.
I’m going to bet against the Marxist Muslim gangster Hussein Obama. Clinton is running a very good campaign the past week. Too bad for her it was so late. We might now end up with the unassimilated foreigner Hussein Obama this close to the White House.
This is funny. The Washington Post is reporting that Hussein Obama has had to answer the first tough questions probably in his whole life, and he reacts like a spoiled crybaby:

Grinning and bearing it, my wife and I are voting for Hillary today in SA. Doing our part as foot soldiers in Limbaugh’s army against the Che Obama revolucion.

Voting in Texas today also. I am having a hard time making myself vote for Hillary .. but that’s my plan. I just keep telling myself it is all about strategy.
It will be interesting to find out what happened in Ohio and Texas when I turn on my computer tomorrow. Will the Democrats go lock step with Obama or will the conservative spoilers exact a little payback for sticking us with Senator McNasty in the open Republican primaries. Here’s hoping for some more self destruction amongst the liberals.
Interesting. I am registered as a epublican here in Texas. I have an unlisted phone number. While I have received zero calls from republicans, I have been getting calls from Hillary’s campaign. One inviting me to join Bill in Austin last week. Some robo calls from Hillary. And a live call yesterday from a Clinton campaign worker asking me to support Hillary and to go back to the polling place at 6:30 for the caucas.
It appears that the GOP is uniting the party here by silence.
It is around 11 AM here, and I am half tempted to go to the Dem polling place to cast my vote against “Bonehead” Obama (the Republican and Democrat polling places here are in different locations).
I can’t wait for my phone to stop ringing off the hook. Now if I can just keep my bile down long enough to go vote for someone who I never thought in a million years I’d cast a vote for.
I was going to cross over and vote for Hillary, but now I’ve been listed as an alternate for the convention…which means I have to vote in the R primary.
More important than the presidential race (McCain’s got the nomination sewn up) is the stuff lower down on the ticket.
Bite the bullet and do it. We need these two to go the distance!
Wouldn’t that be like asking an Aggie to vote for a Longhorn? Voting for evil regardless of a noble cause is a tough frog to swallow.

Here in our little burg in TX, Dem and Repub polling places were not separate, but the Dems had to go through what looked like a dark chute into another room. Heh.
Thankfully, we’ve received NOT ONE robocall.
Much more than watching and listening to Stumpy waddle around spouting his experience makes him the greatest in all things. Strangely he never gets around to mentioning what in his experience so enable him to do so. Much like Black Hussein Osama Change renditions. If you think things are dull now what will 8 months of Stumpy waddle around the stage proclaiming his experience makes him the best in all things. I just can’t wait.
Here a note of interest: the other night O’Reilly hosted a guest who was promoting his book on terror and guest said Stumpy has no clue how to fight the war on terror. Is this a crack in Stumpy’s experience qualifications and if not this then what.
I live in the Alamo city, and if she pulls a win in Texas, it will be because of GOP voters assuming we have a candidate and jumping the aisle and voting for her! Lots of folks on talk radio are saying they did just that! I tried…but chickened out!

- Hmm, Mark Davis subbing for Rush says that BO’s “Brother Love Salvation” tour could just be a flash in the pan and might not go the distance. In which case we may just want to let BO win and let him fizzle out. That’s a tough call. I see his point, but that’s just not a bet I’m willing to make. BO is not John Kerry, and also contrary to Mr. Davis’s opinion, I think BO can beat McCain.
Ah who knows, I’m still voting for Hil and just enjoy the drama tonight.

The 4th of the “5 part series” shows Obama talking to a uniformed soldier, and has paragraphs headed “Leadership for Veterans”, “Ensure a Seamless Transition” (”Obama will demand that the military and the VA coordinate to provide a seamless transition from active duty to civilian life.”), “Fully Fund VA Medical Care”, “Allow All Veterans Back into the VA” (One of Obama’s first acts will be reversing the 2003 ban on enrolling modest-income veterans, which has denied care to a million veterans.”BULL), “Strengthen VA Care”, “Improve Mental Health Treatment”, “Improve Care for Traumatic Brain Injury”, “Expand Veterans Centers”, “Fix the Benefits Bureaucracy”[HAH!], “Combat Homelessness Among Our Nation’s Veterans”, “Fight Veterans’ Employment Discrimination”!

Dagney, you’re right that’s a load of cr#p! My cousin retired at the end of October and hasn’t been able to get a job in his “public welfare” area. He’s a big lib and just can’t understand these questions these twenty-somethings are asking him. Maybe old Ricky will wake up and smell the coffee about his friends on the left. I doubt it though, but there is hope-he said that Home Depot gave him an offer on the spot but he was afraid there were “too many Republicans there like in the Navy” so he declined. He has his retirement but that won’t keep him in the style they’ve become accustomed to.
Has anyone heard if Obama has heard back from that Cpt. who said all his Soldiers and materiel were sent to Iraq?
NEWS FLASH: Obama has announced that when he is elected president he will do away with “Hail to the Chief” as his official presidential entrance music in favor of this “more appropriate alternative”

As I walked into my polling place, I noticed several Hillary’s Harridans holding signs that said “We’ve Got Your Back Hillary.” I guess second choice was her front.
Have had people in and out of my office all day commenting on the large African American turnout here in Cleveland. With the way the delegates are split up here in Ohio this wouldn’t bode well for Hillary.
While this is merely anecdotal at this point, the delegate selection process for Democrats in Ohio definitely favors Obama with more delegates available in the northern parts of the state
I’m also in San Antonio. My husband and I went to the McCain appearance at Mi Tierra this morning. It was fun–lots of local old vets and national media types there, and McCain gave a good talk. It was an intimate venue, so we were close to the action. I was interviewed outside afterward, and I just saw myself on local tv (KSAT) deliver a half-sentence soundbite. Then we went back inside and gorged on huevos rancheros.
Some probably meaningless observations: We’ve been getting calls all week from the McCain campaign, but they were all during the day, thank goodness. In the last two days we’ve received three Obama calls, but none from Hillary. There are several Obama yardsigns in my Republican neighborhood, but none for Hillary or any Republican–except I saw that my godmother still has her Ron Paul sign up.
Man, I hope Hillary wins the Democratic nomination so she can be soundly beaten come November; just the thought of a President Obama is calling the apocalypse to mind.
Somebody needs to photoshop Obama’s face onto Dukakis in the tank wearing a helmet ala this one of Hillary.
Is there any chance the winner of the primaries could be “other”? Of all the Presidental races, this one has to be the longest and most drawn out. I’ll be glad when the conventions are finally come and gone.

I am a vet who signed a contract with this country that in part said that for the rest of my life if I could not afford medical care I could go to the VA. Now they tell me I can’t. (I would never vote for the Obamanation)
Sorry, I didn’t get the VRWC talking points in advance, so I crossed over today in Ohio and voted for Obama because I prefered him over Hillary. Can’t stand the idea of a President Hillary Clinton. This crossing over to vote for Hillary to make the primary more difficult for the Dems … you guys are too smart for me. I did have to sign a form changing from (R) to (D) which said I support the principles of the Democratic party and any fraudulet use of this form is a felony. I have a lot of work to prepare for when the feds come knocking on my door and ask me about the principles of the Democratic party so I don’t get a “deer in the headlights” look in which case they’d cart me off to jail. Do you suppose if I say (R)s are nativist, xenophobic, homophobic, selfish, hatedful bigots, that would be good enough? That’s all I have so far.
Meanwhile, while they are having a primary, this Vermont town continues to make a fool of itself…

Regarding VA medical benefits, This morning McCain said that he would like to give vets a card they could use to get free health care at the doctor of their choice, instead of them having to wait in line at the VA.
I don’t much about this, but it seemed to me to make sense.

I’m just hoping that Hilly pulls it out in Texas and Ohio so that the Dems will have a “brokered” convention with lots and lots of bloodshed. I’ll even bring the popcorn…
I don’t know if it’s a “dig” because she thinks they will be late, or if she thinks that the caucus locations will fill up early, and she wants to stack the deck with “voters” more likely to support her.
I’m a veteran who goes to the VA for medical care. They once told me I could go to a non-VA clinic because it was closer to where I lived and I lasted one visit. If you’ve ever gone to a VA clinic, you’ll never go back to the public sector. At least the 4 clinics I’ve been to. I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes to see my doctor and everywhere in the VA system I’ve been treated with respect and courtesy. If something should happen where this doesn’t happen, there are patient representatives who have lots of power to complain to. I won’t take up space here but the VA system is a great system. Most of the doctors are from outside the US and although I thought at first that was a negative, I’ve found that talking with a doctor that thinks he’s a real person rather than a god is much better.
Azygos: I don’t remember seeing or signing any contract that said VA would take care of me. Just curious where you saw it.
I live around Houston, and I have been bombarded with automated phone calls over the past few days. All of the callers for HRC and BHO sound like broke junkies trying desperately to score a drug fix!

I feel so cheap. I think I need an Exorcism. The three showers don’t seem to be working. Yes, I cast a vote for Hillary Clinton in Texas. My harrowing experience:
I made a decision late today to vote for Hillary. I can’t explain exactly why. It was rally a vote against Obama, who I believe would be a disaster as President.
I found the directions to the Democratic polling place. Still time to back out. Maybe I’ll get lost and get there after the polls close.
I drive up the road and see the Republican polling site! I was unaware it was on the way. Oh, brother. My truck wants to turn. I resist the urge and continue on.
There it is. An ominous site. The temple of doom. I park and slowly walk in. People are staring at me. I must lack the mark of the beast on my forehead.
I suddenly feel my IQ drop by at least 50 points. Shiny objects attract my attention inexplicably. I like shiny things now. I feel so, so, emotional. I want to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony.
I stand in line. People continue to stare. I search for the mark of the beast on their foreheads, but cannot see it. Perhaps if I drop a few more IQ points my primative brain will enhance my ability to see those things.
The line moves on. The people around me shuffle like zombies, their blank stares viewing objects I cannot see. I can hear a faint muttering, “must vote today…must vote today”.
It’s my turn. I look back but my escape route has now been cut off by a throng that I swear was not there a few seconds ago. I have no choice. I sign my name in the book of living voters (the Democrats appear to have a second book to register those votes from Democrats who have passed the great kumbaya in the sky.
I get my ballot and shuffle into a booth. Shuffle shuffle. I stare at the ballot. This seems wrong, but less so than when I came in. I stare at a shiny thing. It is pretty.
I vote for Hillary. I feel like I have just been injected with female hormones. My breasts feel tender. I want to cry because I am happy that I pay more taxes than anyone else in the polling place.
It takes every ounce of resolve I have to ask for a hug. I want a hug, but a little voice tells me my truck is shiny. I tear myself away to see my big shiny truck.
I exit the building. I feel weak and like someone has just knocked the wind out of me. I, must, make, it, to, the, truck…
I head home, with a sense of overpowering angst. My male hormones are ejecting the female hormones. I can feel it. I no longer want a hug. I want to get the hell out of there. There’s a street sign. I can read it. YES, I can read again. letters are no longer a jumble of pretty lines. They form words. My brain is starting to work again.
I arrive home and need a shower. And another. I still feel dirty. And cheap. If I could find my jumper cables, I would give myself a good jolt. Maybe that would do it. Can’t find them.
I’ll be fine, but this may take some time. Tonight, I will read the Bible. Have take a glance at Revelations – my voting for Hillary has to be a sure sign of the apocolypse…..
Just back from voting. I wanted to vote for Hillary but the polling place was busy and everyone there wanted to vte democratic. (My county went for Kerry in 2004)
So I naturally had to speak up and be the onl republican there. And that prevented me from crossing over. So I ended up voting for Fred Thompson after all

Ok, I’m here in Ohio freshly back from the polls and I – voted for Hilary Clinton, gag, but done it is.
I can only comment on my personal experience in regards to the VA.
The VA Hospital in Atlanta. My Former Marine Brother was recently (last year) diagnosed with Libers disease. AKA Bioptic Neuropathy. At 40 Years old he’s gone from 20-20 vision to 70% blind.
This is NOT Military Service related.
I’ve taken him to the VA hospital in Atlanta approximately a dozen times in the last 9 months. My verdict is the VA has OUTSTANDING SERVICE with EXEMPLARY 5 Star TREATMENT as they have delivered over $30,000 worth of visual equipment to his home to assist him in limited eyesight. He gets specific meds to assist in specific discomforts.
All of this cost him $7 per month.
On maybe 2-3 of those dozen occasions we had to wait for up to an hour all of the other times we were in and out.
This is MUCH BETTER than the appointment stacking I have to endure with my personal physicians whom typically make me wait 2-3 hours on those rare visits.
I have to disagree with the VA Bashers.
The picture is a good metaphor for two pucker-lipped gas bags shooting their single-barrel mouths off at each other. Unfortunately, their empty rhetoric is the equivalent of shooting blanks.
