The Glacier-Messiah ticket?

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 5, 2008 11:05 AM

Glacier-Messiah 2008! Could that be where we are heading? Via WCBSTV, Hillary’s hinting at it.

Spine-chilling to contemplate. But also ridiculous.

About as likely as a McCain-Tancredo ticket.

I mean, come on.

Hillary Cackle Count: 1.2

I think all Hillary is doing is sending up a trial balloon (which he will no doubt pop) on whether Obama is willing to quit if she makes him VP. She will argue that this is the perfect path for him given his youth and inexperience. Unfortunately for Hillary, Obama has no incentive to take the lesser spot, given that he has the lead in delegates, states, and popular vote. And there is no way she would agree to play second banana on the ticket. She already shared that role with Al Gore for 8 years.

I agree. She just won by claiming (correctly) that Obama is Muslim (”as far as I know”) and that he can’t be trusted with security. Also, she showed how corrupt he was.

So how can she then logically place him as vice-president? If he is not qualified because he is Muslim to be president and he is corrupt, then how can he be qualified to be vice-president?

I don’t think she will choose him. She is hinting it because it will make her more popular. But once she locks up the nomination, he is history.

I would have to disagree with you there. They are having a bitter battle, but their ideology is just about on equal plain. I would have to say that it is on par with the Reagan/Bush ticket of years ago. I think it all comes down to how badly Hillary really does hate Barrack-O, and if she would be willing to take 2nd chair.

However, if I were Barrack-O I would be concerned about taking Hillary as a VP - a great number of people associated with the Clintons have mysteriously turned up dead over the years.

There have been many mysterious deaths surrounding the Clintons. This is a fact not a “conspiracy theory.” It’s been animals, too. Kathleen Willey describes her autobiography how they killed her cat.

Same for crackpots like Gabe (again Gabe, trade a few of those degrees you claim to have for just a touch of common sense) who claim that Obama is a Muslim sent here as a child as a sleeper jihadist.

He grew up in Indonesia, his father converted from Christianity to Islam, his stepfather was Muslim, he does not goes to a “Christian” church but one that lauds Louis Farrakhan, practically every Muslim is endorsing Hussein Obama http://www.muslimsforobama08.com/. What do they know that we don’t?

He has the most socialist record in the Senate, and there is a strong Islamic-Marxist alliance in the Middle East.

“Common sense” states that something just isn’t right about Hussein Obama. Even Hillary is capitalizing on this fact with her “as far as I know” comment. He may or may not be Muslim, but he is awfully close to Islam, which is scary for our country. Furthermore, Muslims picture Obama as Muslim, which is just as bad as if he actually IS a Muslim.

Plus, it is fun getting a hysterical reaction from the Obama camp by calling him “Muslim.”

Maybe it is just their sarcasm? There are also people here who believe that 9/11 is an inside job and they have the “facts”. There are even people who – get this – believe global warming is cause by man and have “facts” to support their opinion.

    B. Just because someone calls themselves a “Christian” does not make it so. I have been to many a church filled with such people. If someone has the opinion that Obama in not a “Christian”, I am inclined to agree. I base that opinion on what it takes to be a “follower of Christ” which is what the very definition of a “Christian” is.

Hillary entertaining the notion of a joint ticket - with the guy who’s still the presumptive nominee - has the same whiff of arrogant desperation as that of Russell Crowe’s opponent during the final match in “Cindarella Man.”

In the film, Crowe’s opponent, surprised by Crowe’s refusal to throw the match, keeps offering to “carry him for a few rounds” - being totally oblivious to the fact that Crowe has every intention not just to survive, but to win.

Likewise, Hillary seems to be saying to Obama, “OK, look, kid, I’ve let you have your fun up to this point, but it’s time now for you to go down. OK? OK??”

    - And then Obama delivers another left hook to her jaw.

There’s no way that Obama will take Hillary as the veep pick after constantly using her as a foil in his crusade for “change.”

And Hillary’s apparent notion that Obama would somehow step aside to be her (and Bill’s) #2, when he still has the better shot at the nomination, is wishful thinking that crosses the line into pathetic delusion.

To borrow once more from the “Cindarella Man” analogy, it’s sounding like Hillary’s getting punch-drunk if her joint ticket idea is any indication.

For example, if a Republican’s middle name were “Hussein,” there would be stories all over the MSM, “Can Americans handle a candidate with ties to the Middle East?” or “Is X a Muslim?”

What does everyone have to fear from Obama? I’m more afraid of McCain. I like Obama because he’s not entrenched with connections in Washington. I think Optimum voter strategy would be to vote out all incumbents regardless of partisanship and party affiliation. I’m more afraid of Clinton because of her political connections.

I’m not a Republican, I’m a conservative. I vote for Bush twice and realize what a mistake it was to hitch my desires to him. He didn’t represent me, I don’t think any of them will represent me. But I do think Obama would screw the country up the least, since he’s already so far left he’d need to take right to move forward his agenda.

I don’t think Hillary would want to be VP… anyway, she’s done. Obama is going to hit her in the teeth again, and add enough substance in his speeches to coo the media and the people over again.

Taxes on businesses will force them to fire emplyoees and/or go over seas. America has never, in my lifetime, forced anyone to do what Russia or Cuba to live under. That is what the two dems have in store for us. For the good of the ‘nation’. If this is what you want, sugar vote for hc or bho.

Texas Tiger, as a Catholic I would like to have Hussein Obama at least ONCE state that he believes Christ is “divine” or “consubstantial” with the Father (what we Catholics profess in the Nicene Creed). He won’t because that is anathema to Muslims, the idea that the moon god Allah would take on flesh and would be crucified for the sake of mankind. It is repulsive to Muslims.

Not surprisingly, Hussein Obama always states how he “respects” Christ, “is” a Christian, but NEVER how he worships Christ or believes Christ is divine.

He has a very Muslim idea of Christianity and Christ–a type of Marxist revolutionary and very human hero for the downtrodden that he as a socialist respects.

It’s so cut-and-dry and simplified like you laid out? I don’t think so… and if it truly is that cut-and-dry than we are in a lot of trouble as a nation (not like we haven’t been there for the past 15+ years).

Our families and children will never get to live in the country our founders bled for. That country looks nothing like what we have now, and I think its been that way for a long time. We haven’t had a competent leader for 20+ years. I think Obama is more saavy than people realize.

Okay, I know I am being a PITA… but whither McCain? Has McCain stated that he believes Christ to be “divine” or “consubstantial” with the father?

    Google finds this

“I think it’s something between me and my creator,” McCain said in an interview with McClatchy Newspapers. “It’s primarily a private issue rather than a public one. … When I’m asked about it, I’ll be glad to discuss it. I just don’t bring it up.”

Pressed on the issue in the interview, the normally garrulous McCain haltingly — “I just pray the way most people pray” — but convincingly described a rich and fulfilling spiritual life.

So why is Barry Obama being held to such a higher standard?

Well, Texas and Ohio voted for Hillary. My mother was listening to Rush Limbaugh today (I was listening to Dr. Kaku and then Dr. Wolfson (more on this later)) and I really wasn’t. Granted, there were times I heard it and from what I gather … well.

IF I heard it correctly (big IF here, because my mind was on Dr. Wolfson’s lecture) Rush was talking about Hillary and Barack Obama … their race for the nomination, and the fact that Rush appeared to want to get Hillary to stay in the race longer.

Why? To fracture the Democratic vote would be my guess. Again, I really wasn’t listening too closely.

But whatever happened to “government by the people and for the people?” Call me naive here, but does anybody really think that any of the politicians have our best interests at heart?

And then there’s what Dr. Ward was saying the other day … that we really COULD get weaned off of oil if we (as a nation) really put our mind to it. Most of our oil is imported nowadays. And, according to Dr. Kaku (yes, he’s a theoretical physicist but he also is an expert on the environment) we’d have to discover a new Saudi Arabia every 10 YEARS to keep up with the demand for oil. That ain’t likely to happen.

Our “government” spent $2 billion to dig the hole for the Superconducting Supercollider (in Texas) … and then anothe $2 billion to fill the damn thing up. Had it been built, it would have measured 87km in circumference. By contrast, the new Large Hadron Collider (CERN) will be 27km in circumference. And it SHOULD be online by mid 2008. It should put String Theory to the test, and it is believed that it will have enough energy to create a Higgs Boson. Since ST is the ONLY theory that predicts the Higgs, this will either nail it to the wall, or blow it out of the water.

BUT…it’s also thought that the LHC MIGHT be able to create a magnetic monopole. What does that mean in English for you and I? Well…

One thing that’s keeping us from having UNlimited energy (”hot” fusion) is that the plasma is contained in “doughnuts” of magnetic fields. A magnetic field, you’ll remember, has a north and south pole. A magnetic monopole, by contrast, is a north pole WITHOUT a south pole. These hypothetical particles are REALLY heavy suckers, which is why they haven’t been found yet.

Well, when you try to contain plasma in a magnetic field, it’s rather like squeezing a balloon. You squeeze one area, and it bulges in another. Squeeze that area, and ANOTHER bulges. With only ONE magnetic field (north pole), the monopole (a hypothetical particle) COULD help contain the plasma long enough to make the reaction self-sustaining. More than that, IF the plasma could be contained LONG ENOUGH, it would create MORE energy than is used to sustain the magnetic field. Free energy.

Imagine what we could do with that. Suddenly, we could tell Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, and all the other countries that we import oil from that we don’t need them anymore. Then, they wouldn’t have the US by the balls anymore.

We’re not there yet, and if the politicians have their way, we won’t get there any time soon. Probably not in my lifetime. Why? M O N E Y. The oil industry has many highly paid lobbyists in the District of Corruption. If we DID get hot fusion to work, their stocks and their profits would tank. It’s that simple. They don’t WANT different sources of fuel because they haven’t invested in it.

Before I close this entry, let’s take a look at hydrogen fuel cells. They sound good, and “Green,” but there is a problem with them. They’re clean WHERE YOU BURN THEM. How do you create a fuel cell? In a factory that makes them. Where does that factory get its energy? The electric power grid. Where does the grid get the bulk of their energy from? Coal-fired power plants.

Fuel cells are a stop-gap ONLY … they won’t solve the problem.

And hybrids? Dr. Kaku is right in that most people do their chores within 60 miles, which is the limit on most hybrids before the gasoline engine kicks in. But there is a problem. Where does the electric motor get its energy? By plugging it into an outlet. The outlet that gets its power from the same grid that we just spoke about. Oops.

Another stop-gap. Perhaps somebody really should ask the politicians why they let the oil industry run this country.

We ALMOST have the technology to make hot fusion work. Certainly we have enough technology to DRASTICALLY cut our demand for oil.

But the oil industry, their lobbyists, and the politicians that they bought don’t want that. They WANT oil. They WANT their profits.

    They don’t want unlimited energy.
