Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson, taking the campaign a bit meta on a conference call today, attacked Obama for attacking Clinton, and compared him to a notorious Clinton foe.
“When Senator Obama was confronted with questions over whether he was ready to be Commander-in-Chief and steward of the economy, he chose not to address those questions, but to attack Senator Clinton,” Wolfson said. “I for one do not believe that imitating Ken Starr is the way to win a Democratic primary election for president.”
Wolfson was attacking Obama’s explicit strategy, in the wake of his March 4 losses, to attack elements of Clinton’s record on the grounds of secrecy, and to revisit the questions raised by Clinton foes in the 1990s and earlier. Obama has demanded Clinton’s tax returns, cited delays in releasing her White House schedules, and even made reference to trades in cattle futures in the late 1970s that became a subject of allegations during the White House years.
Wolfson also responded to the substance of Obama’s complaint, that Clinton hasn’t released her recent tax returns, and to the reminder today that Clinton (via Wolfson) attacked her 2000 Senate rival, Rick Lazio, for failing to release his tax returns.

This can’t end too soon. The circular firing squad is down to two! Each month they continue is worth 10 million dollars of attack adds against both.
Heh! Speaking of glaciers, it will be a cold day in you-know-where, before Clinton releases things for this campaign that others have been looking to get their hands on for years. Obviously, she knows they would be damning pieces of evidence and is working diligently to keep them under wraps.

Yes, I’d say that the squabbling on display between Obama and Hillary is one step beyond George H.W. Bush’s “voodoo economics” remark about Reagan’s supply-side economics ideas back in 1980.
Two massive egos, neither able to accept playing second fiddle to the other. Reminds me of a limerick I heard once:

About the only thing to bring these two together might be their mutual desire to “do it” to the USA – but even that’s probably not enough.

Let them tear each other to shreds up thru the convention. By the time the general election rolls around America will be sick of both of them. Long time Dems like Kennedy and Kerry must know some really good dirt about Hill that they covered up during the Clinton years for Obama to use against Hill.

Was Wolfson trying to insinuate that Obama is ineffective. That is the only word I can come up with for Ken Starr. All that red meat on the plate in front of him and he chose the twinkies.

Does anybody really think that Hill’s going to release her White House schedules, etc., before they are satisfactorily “revised” by her aides??
Who will confirm the important “policy meetings” she claims to have attended? With which World leaders did she discuss “foreign policy”? When the hard-working citizens she pretends to care about see that she and Bill are multi-millionaires (who give little to charity), live lavishly on the tax-payers “dime”, they might change their image of her. Soooo, I would not hold my breath waiting for any documentation of her so-called experience which supposedly “readies” her in an instant to be POTUSA!
The Hilldabeast winning the primaries in Ohio and Texas are the greatest gift that either could have offered. Mutual Destruction is in process and will be one of the greatest comedic entertainment that any conservative could ever hope for. The Democratic Convention will be the most fascinating that we will witness in our lifetimes. 1968 will look like a nice congenial get together by comparison. My heart is filled with joy.

This could be interesting if it goes to a brokered convention. I just hope the Denver PD is training in riot control procedures. It is fun watching the infighting among the lockstep socialist/communist party of America. After all no matter who wins the Democratic Party nomination the conservative choice is just as bad on everything, but the GWOT.

No, they were not trying to call Sen. Obama “ineffective”. What they were trying to do was to paint Obama’s legitimate question with a patina of irrelevance, just like Ken Starr’s inquisition-like search into Pres. Bill Clinton’s past. They’re point-blank saying that it’s “not germane” to ask to see the Clinton family’s tax returns, nor her seal White House transcripts.
Obama has been given a Louisville Slugger-sized whooping stick, and he should be swinging it like Hammerin’ Hank Aaron on this point. His comeback should be. “Yes, why I am acting a bit like Ken Starr, as is all of America at this point. You’re claiming 35 years of government experience, so I’m asking for proof. Just 8 years of that proof, Senator Clinton.
It could be considered negative to actively attack someone’s record, but when a portion of that record (the important part coincidentally) has been intentionally, and I’d say maliciously, withheld, it’s not “negative”, it’s merely checking the facts.
Those 8 years of sealed conversations and meetings, and her tax records, constitute the single biggest reason why Rush Limbaugh wants to see her go toe-to-toe with ANY Republican candidate!
Obama’s closing comment in a speech should be “If she chose not to reveal her past, why should America trust her with its future?”.
Start swingin’ that big stick soon, Obama! That “3 AM” ad that Sen. Clinton ran should have been tossed right back into her face. Counter it with a video collage of every crisis during the Bill Clinton Presidency, then close with the text “What did Hillary Clinton do during these emergencies? It’s a shame we’ll never know since those White House records remain sealed. What are you hiding, Hillary?” BOOOOOM! That’ll leave a mark!
On another note, it’s good to see that the traditional Clintonian tactic of “Never answer the question, attack the questioner” is still alive and well within Hillary’s headquarters.
The Clinton “Red Phone” ad should provide the 527’s with a goldmine of sarcastic opportunities. Dick Morris suggested that a Hilderbeast look-alike answer the phone and after a pause say “Bill, it’s for you.”
I was thinking that the look-alike could say:
“Bill, how many times do I have to tell you to have your bimbos call you on your cell phone!”
Or “You’re doing what at Fort Marcy Park? Can’t you guys be original for once?”
Or “Cattle futures are going to open higher?? Quick, put me down for another 10 grand before the markets open!!”
Or “Listen Dinitry, do you have any frickin idea what time it is here? Call back during normal business hours!!”
Or if no Bill is present (not unlikely), a recording on the phone could say “It’s 3 a.m., do you know where your husband is?”
If there ever were a Hillary-Obama ticket, it would be great fun to see how they could explain to American voters, after calling each other unqualified to be CINC, why they now are both …qualified!!!

AG Janet Reno, Bill Clinton’s hatchet man/woman/whatever, tied Ken Starr’s hands in that investigation. The outcome was disappointing and justice not served.
