The cowardly, evil attack on the Jerusalem seminary
The Palestinian jihadist who opened fire in the library of a central Jerusalem seminary today fired 500-600 bullets. Monstrous:
The 8:45 p.m. shooting at Mercaz Harav Yeshiva in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood broke a two-year lull in terror in the capital and sent students scurrying for cover from a hail of gunfire - a reported 500-600 bullets - that lasted for several minutes.
“There were horrendous screams of ‘Help us! Help us!’” recounted Avrahami Sheinberger of the ZAKA emergency rescue service, one of the first to respond to the scene. “There were bodies strewn all over the floor, at the entrance to the yeshiva, in various rooms and in the library.”
As security forces raced to the scene, the gunman fired round after round of ammunition into the library at the seminary, religious Zionism’s flagship institution. About 80 students had gathered in the library to celebrate the Hebrew month of Adar II, which begins on Friday evening. It was not immediately clear, late Thursday night, whether there was a security guard at the entrance to the yeshiva. Channel 2 reported that the terrorist carried a blue Israeli identity card and came from east Jerusalem.
The Israel ambassador’s office e-mailed me a statement and graphic photos. I am posting them because I want you to have them in your head when you read about Palestinians dancing for joy in the streets. See also the running updates at Mere Rhetoric and Israelly Cool.
Statement from the Israel ambassador:
Today’s terrorist attack on a religious seminary in Jerusalem, in which eight young students were murdered in cold blood by a Palestinian terrorist, is a terrible reminder of the indiscriminate and brutal terrorism Israel faces every day.
The gunman, armed with an automatic assault rifle, heavy ammunition and a bulletproof vest, infiltrated the crowded school library and opened fire at students during religious study.
The reaction in the West Bank and Gaza, including celebrations and praise for the killer, is the result of ongoing and intensive incitement to violence against innocent Israeli civilians.
While continuing to pursue every opportunity for peace, Israel will defend its citizens and take the necessary security measures to combat terror. Be it rocket fire from Gaza or suicide attackers in Jerusalem, Israel expects the international community to take a resolute and determined stand against terror in all its forms.

Obviously Israeli propaganda. Palesinians NEVER attack Jews. Hamas is a social service outfit with absolutely no ties to terror. The Jews deserved it for being there in the first place. Make the Jews tear down that fence so we can have peace. Make them give back all of the land - going back to the beginning of time.
In case you haven’t caught on - this is sarcasm.
I’m also sure there will be a STRONG Condemnation from the UN in 3-2-1
Hamas already bragged how heroic this act was. Must be the Methodists again. The religion of peace actually comes from the gates of hell and now we will see how the world will ignore this atrocity. After all only Israelie children were slaughtered. I wish the press would have the courage to ask Sen Obama, Murray on what they think of this act. There is no room for appeasing these Methodists.
I’d say what I really thought about these jihadi animals, but some f***wit troll might not approve of the species to which I chose to compare them.
In my previous post I wrongly stated Murray for Clinton. I meant and wish that the press would ask Obama, Hillary and even McCain on what they should do about these devil worshipers who slaughter children like this.
SCREW THE TROLLS!
These Jihadi animals need to be exterminated in the manner in which they dole out their brand of terror. They need to be rounded up and publically disposed of.
They are NEVER going to accept Israel as a country or the Jews as a people.
They are going to do their damndest to ‘push Israel and her people into the sea’. Bullsh!t. Time to push back and take back the land and force the other Arab A-Quaeda, Hamas, Jew hating countries to take these unrepentant animals back.
It’s amazing the restraint the Israelis have shown over the years. I’d bet the of reaction to a slaughter like this in a mosque in Mecca would be much different.
We can’t even get the UN or Reuters to call it terrorism!
Exactly WHEN will the world and those who continue to support the Palistinians going to wake up and smell the death and destruction?
That means YOU Dubya, that means YOU Condi Rice, that means YOU Episcopal church, that means YOU ‘name that democrat’, that means you United Nations.
And they are celebrating this evil act in the streets?
Can we please kick these people off the planet?
I’m always reminded of the famous Golda Meir quote at times like these:
Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.
It hasn’t happened yet, and I fear it never will.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to help or show solidarity with them?
This type of attack send chills down my spine. What kind of animals (when you attack a school in cold blood you are no longer human) would do something like this. Also to celebrate this massacre it is sick. Israel is on the front lines in the terror fight and incedents like this should be a wake up call to what we face from Islamic terror groups.
Its impossible for Arabs to love if they are Muslims that is. Islam was born in the gates of hell and it is always destroying and killing. The fruit of this satanic religion proves the point.
Utterly horrendous…more innocent blood shed in the middle east.
But when will this madness stop on BOTH sides? - Let’s not forget that eight innocent children were killed by Israeli bombing in Gaza… And no, I am not excusing the evil act at the seminary, the celebrations by Hamas, nor do I think Israel should sit back and allow rockets to continually be sent over…
But this has got to stop.. on both sides…
I’m amazed that at times Israel still tries to negotiate with these animals. Everytime there has been a “peace accord” all Hamas and other militant groups have done is use it as a time to rearm and recruit more
volunteersvictims to wear suicide vests and train with automatic weapons.Israel needs to find out who this guy was and kill his family. And everytime this happens, kill that person’s family. Keep doing it until they (palestinkeons) get the point that there are consequences to their stupid actions. Barbaric? Yes. But that is what needs to be done.
WE are to blame.
OUR tax dollars pay for this.
THIS is foreign aid.
There is only one cure for these animals - we all know it - just a question of when it is done.
Or, we can sit on out thumbs, pretend they aren’t animals and be killed by them.
The Israeli foreign ministry building will get clogged with cobwebs if they are going to wait for the international community to take a resolute and determined stand against terrorism in all its forms.
This is horrible, unthinkable.
It was driven by the tenets and doctrines of Islam.
The fight for our freedom of thought, conscience and speech has not yet really begun. My regret is that I will probably be gone long before our nation awakens to what we are up against and we begin to slay our enemies until they no longer have the will or means to go on.
What happened in Israel lies ahead for all of us, until we draw our lines and fight like we intend to win. Negotiation with Islam is no option that will save our civilization.
Weep today for Israel, and prepare to wage war against the cult of death, without mercy.
You referred to a black woman as a gorilla. Calling murderers animals is one thing. Calling a black person any form of a monkey is something different. The webmasters at this site, Mrs. Malkin included, should be ashamed of themselves for not banning you.
Calling someone out for racist and hateful language is not trolling.

I hope with every fiber of my being that the lives lost in Jerusalem are not forgotten. Murder is a cowardly and depraved act and those who support it as a political tool are doomed to failure.
Where is the condemnation from the rest of the Arab world? Is their hatred for jews so intense that it prevents them from condemning the cowardly murder of civilians in cold blood?
The Bush Administration proffered the doctrine of preemptive action. Yet, they have been and are even now actively pressuring Israel to follow the path of appeasement. The father of appeasement, Neville Chamberlin, taught us a long time ago that such tactics do not work with tyrants or others who choose not to be members of the civilized world. Chamberlin’s actions only emboldened Hitler to begin his “final solution”, and when the atrocities of the Holocost were revealed to the world, civilized nations rose up to vow “never again”.
While many Presidents have tried to broker peace in the middle east, the sad fact that they have never grasped is that there will never be peace when one side teaches generation after generation that the Jews need to be eliminated from the face of the Earth.
We cannot seem to learn the lessons of history, and are in the midst of doom in repeating it. “Never again” is happening right before our eyes.
Unarmed Seminarians? Martyrs, all.
Armed nutcake Jihadists? Cowards, all.
Nations war against nations - its as old as time. Decide for yourself which side is right.
As for me, I say the Palestinians have had plenty of time to settle. Their continuous bs of attacking unarmed people at close range ought to be obvious to everyone as a tactic straight from hell.
By the same token, the terrorists hide among the populace. Just like Beirut - why don’t they fight in the open field, as soldiers do? Because they are chicken.
Israel have nukes.. might be about time to use one.
Oh, and somebody mentioned the UN. I have a response to that:
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! UN.. LOL..
Sausage, of course, blames Israel. The fact is, it doesn’t happen on both sides - and Sausage full well knows that.
Then there’s Rusty, who takes the opportunity to attack TexasTiger and projects about what his own future should be here on this board.
Time to move the UN to Europe and create a Free Nations Alliance. No more coddling or appeasing third world dictators.
The BBC is still confused as to the perpetrators. Not kidding. They imply that it is an accident. Like a gas explosion.
Once again the religion of peace rears its benevolant head. The celebrating in the streets is enough to make one want to push the button on these sic pups.
Is it not comfortable to know if you are jewish. That should Barack Hussen Obama win, American aid will all but cease and our military will end up supporting these terrorist, and islamofacist.
Boggles the mind doesn’t it?
Why should I care about Pali children? I know it sounds cold but they are nothing but bombs in training.
Even now, it is not too late to impeach corrupt and timid dubya and sack spineless Condi. Else, both USA and Israel will pay in blood, today being just the begining.
This is truly a terrible story. I’m not going to feed the troll.
Yeah, why SHOULD you care about “Pali” Children?
Sometimes I despair. When the majority of the world seems to not care that a jihadist would gun down innocent children on purpose and claim it as a victory, my mind keeps going to the same conclusion. I try and try to find a different answer but the only one that makes sense logically is that they are just like them.
I’m sure the terrorist that carried out the raid trained for it. I can’t believe it was a spur of the moment decision. I can’t conceive of a sane human being spending hours and hours thinking about killing children with automatic weapons. I honestly believe these people are a different species from me.
After re-reading the story I realize the victims weren’t children. Sorry, I expect the worst from these people.
Rusty:
Why don’t you go away and dump somewhere else. Maybe spend some quality time with your son.
I really don’t care to be misquoted by you or to be lectured on “hateful language” by the juvenile who wrote this.
Cheers.
I wondered when such a comparison will be made. It is sad when civilian victims die in a war. However, there is a world of a difference between children dying to stray bombs and children dying due to heavily armed gunmen storming their school and methodically executing them.
If you can’t tell the difference between the two, your moral compass needs checking.
@31
They weren’t toddlers, but they were still 15 - 19. They’re children as far as I’m concerned.
When the AP Wire spoke about this horrific crime yesterday, they said that Mercaz Harav was “identified with the settler movement in the west bank”, and from what I can tell, they did it in order to try and mitigate the crime. The AP’s foreign staff are really sick.
According to the Bible; GOD will bring His wrath down on anyone and everyone who attempts to destroy Israel.
The Jews were HIS chosen people.
Woe to those that commit these acts.
Their day of reckoning will come.
Is that a rhetorical question?
Maybe the question should be “Why should we care more about Palestinian children, than their parents care about them?”
The loaded-with-irony-answer would be “Because it’s the Christian thing to do.”
Islam is a cancer on this earth that needs to be destroyed completely. It is a cult of hatred and death that was “invented” by a psychopathic, woman-hating, pedophile and has absolutely NO redeeming values!
Animals. Hamas is populated with animals.
Hamas calls this an “heroic act”. Killing unarmed teenagers is an heroic act? I cannot fathom what goes on in the minds of these “people” that they could even think that much less say it.
Just as an aside - I wonder if the school was an Israeli version of a “gun-free” zone?

Sausage,
Du bist ein idiotent! Arschloch!
Rooster (and everyone else tempted to feast on a dose of sausage), take the advice of 30 and soap and just ignore him… he’ll eventually find someplace else to play.
This same act will come to the streets of this country one day because of people with the mindset of sausage.
I am so aggravated. The Palestinians have got to read (and freakin’ understand) the memo, what you are doing to achieve what you want just isn’t working. In fact it will never work.
The Palestinians are fortunate that they, at this point, have only had the IDF to deal with. The IDF has been clinical, and particularly surgical, in their response to Palestinian aggression. There have been a few individual Israelis who took action on their own against the Palestinians, and the number and type has been comparatively few to what the Palestinians have done.
Well, push has come to shove.
The next Palestinian funeral, when thousands of people hit the streets, I would not be surprised if an individual Israeli (or group of Israelis) whack the whole bunch of them.
I will not be surprised if the residents of Sderot launch thier own rockets into Gaza. I would wager that those rockets will be vastly superior, in number and accuracy, to any that the Palestinians have launched.
It is time that the Palestinians suffer to the point that all they have left are people who are willing to learn how Muhatma Ghandi and M.L. King achieved their results.
If pain and suffering is all the Palestinians understand then that is the only language that should be used to address them.
This is nothing compared to what will come against Israel in the not to distant future. I don’t want it to happen but the world is going to let it happen. Then God will intervene and we will see about the “both sides” in this spiritual warfare.
Anyone with half a moral compass can see that Israel is not out stalking these people, blowing Israelis up to kill innocents, stock piling weapons to drive someone into the sea, etc. Wake up sleeping dullards. As one said it will be in our streets too because of your perverted thinking. As MM chronicled in much detail, the elements are already in our own streets to shed innocent blood–code pink, & much much more.
But it’s so much fun to send the trolls off with a parting gift like this.
What gets my goat is that the UN keeps condemning Israel for defending itself.
Get the US out of the UN
Get the UN out of the US.
What gets my goats are usually a randy bunch of jihadis looking for some afternoon delight.
Query for Zeyad Maasarani: Am I using jihadi in the proper context?
I wrote to a reporter at the NY Times who covers the MiddleEast and asked him why he did not use the word “terrorist”. The reporter answered back by saying that would be “judgmental”. He said that “we in the west” view these actions as terrorism but the Islamic world does not and hence we should use the word “militants” on the news pages and the editorial page could use the word “terrorism”. This is the NY Times at its most sickening. As usual, the NY Times will have an editorial saying that the “attack” which the Times will call “unfortunate” is all the more reason why “The Peace Process” must continue and Israel should end checkpoints and roadblocks and in exchange Abbas will issue a statement saying more should be done to stop terrorism. Condi Rice, the latter day Cyrus Vance. has already issued such a statement.

TT #49 - Keen observation! I can’t laugh right now because I’m too mad, but that statement pretty much sums up my opinion of these murderers.
DBNinKY:
I hear you.
According to Hamas this was neither. It was God’s revenge. I wonder what these boys are going to think of their God when Israel drops 10 megatons in the center of Tehran. That will be the only way to bring this crap to an end. It’s time Israel.
When Hamas and their followers take over the center of their city to cheer these deaths is the time when someone should fly over and bomb the f–k out of them. They need to leave this Earth now. They should be happy if we annihilate them. They’ll be in their heaven with their virgins and crappy way of life. When rats become a problem…..you kill them.
And our government is going to give these cockroaches (Palestinians) another $145M and keep Israel from defending itself! I am truly ashamed of our President, our State Department and our Congress. I hate that our government has become a ruling class that supports vermin in “Palestine”.
We, The People are going to have to change this paradigm somehow, someway. We cannot allow our government to keep giving these barbarians money and support. Does anybody still remember that this same scum was celebrating in a likewise manner after the attacks on 9/11? And we keep giving them money, support and our President wants to give them a state? What in God’s name is wrong with this picture? How long can we let this go on?
The president, the State Department and Congress will continue to fund Islamic terrorism as long as they smell a big payoff from the Gulf sheikhdoms once they leave office. All of our living ex-presidents are on the take.

Maybe it’s time the “Pali” parents started showing that they care about their children, and if whether or not they’ll have a future, by teaching them not to kill their brethren as a matter of religious tenant, and to practice tolerance and acceptance of and for those who do not practice the Islamic faith.
In essence, it’s time for the religion of perpetual rage to come to terms with itself and decide, once and for all, if it is a religion of Everlasting Life…or merely a vehicle for early death and damnation!
nbarry,
So true, so true! So what are We, The People going to do about it? Just continue to bend over like fools and sheep? It is OUR money these corrupt idiots are giving away to this Culture of Death.
The Pali cockroaches are not going to change. They are not going to enter into meaningful peace agreements. They are barbaric and junk people. They can only be contained with extreme prejudice. Period, dot the end!
For the people who think the UN will do anything… the only thing UN stands for is UN-responsive and UN-likely to step in. They are UN-moved to do anything out of fear someones feelings might get hurt.
TFM
There is only one cure for this behaviour but unfortunately the west and seemingly the Israelis have decided to only allow the muslim animals to apply it.
Now, let’s give the Death Cult more foreign aid and their own country! Then they’ll play nice.
Religion of Pieces.
Nope. This just in:
CCRKBA SAYS PRESS PURPOSELY DOWNPLAYS KEY ROLE OF ARMED STUDENT IN JERUSALEM
BELLEVUE, WA – An armed student at Jerusalem’s Mercaz Haray seminary played a crucial role in stopping a gun-wielding terrorist Thursday, but the American press is downplaying his heroism because it proves that armed students can stop campus gunmen, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.
Yitzhak Dadon, 40, was described as “a private citizen who had a gun license and was able to shoot the gunman with his pistol” by reporter Etgar Lefkovitz with the Jerusalem Post. However, many news agencies in the United States are downplaying Dadon’s decisive role in the incident.
Mixer14 said (#5):
As a practical matter, whom to you suggest exterminating? How do you decide who is an innocent resident of Gaza and who is a “Jihadi animal”?
lgm, that would be easy. Israel should just cut off the power to Gaza. The answer to your question would be anyone who comes out in the street protesting said action. Gaza has been in palestinian control long enough for them to have developed their own power sources by now.
Step 1: Strap on a blood pressure cuff and establish baseline BP.
Step 2: Show Danish Mohammed cartoons to patient.
Step 3: If BP rises >10 points, prescribe 1g strychnine.
LGM ,,, What do you think Israel should do? apologize just for living? What is your plan anyway. What would you do if your neighbors were shot up like that? Would you negotiate? Let us know.
…and already the story has disappeared from the LameStream Media….
My thoughts exactly this is just a one day news item. If the Muslims had been killed it would have lasted for weeks. If it happens to Jews or Christians it barely makes the news.
+1 To YITZHAK DADON & lEGAL CONCEALED CARRY.
BELLEVUE, Wash., March 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — An armed student at Jerusalem’s Mercaz Haray seminary played a crucial role in stopping a gun-wielding terrorist Thursday, but the American press is downplaying his heroism because it proves that armed students can stop campus gunmen, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.
“Yitzhak Dadon is a hero,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, “and he is living proof that armed students have a place on college campuses. Thankfully, his quick action was reported by the international press, including Mr. Lefkovitz, so unlike incidents here in the United States where the press was able to completely ignore the actions of armed students or teachers, the truth about this incident will not be suppressed.
“Mr. Dadon is not going to become a victim of this conspiracy of silence,” Gottlieb continued. “Elitist American college administrators, the national press, nor anti-gun politicians can sweep this incident under their rug.”
Internationally published reports say Dadon studies at the yeshiva, and had his pistol when the shooting erupted. When the gunman emerged from a library, Dadon reportedly shot him twice in the head. The gunman was subsequently shot by the off-duty soldier.
“Yitzhak Dadon’s apparently well-placed bullets interrupted a rampage,” Gottlieb said. “What a pity that someone like Mr. Dadon was not in class last April at Virginia Tech. What a tragedy that anti-gun extremism would keep him from attending class at Northern Illinois University. He would never be allowed to teach at Columbine High School, hold a job at Trolley Square in Salt Lake City, or go shopping at Omaha’s Westroads Mall.
“America’s acquiescence to anti-gun hysteria has led to one tragedy after another,” Gottlieb stated. “This disastrous policy has given us nothing but broken hearts and body counts, and it’s got to end. The heroism of an armed Israeli seminary student halfway across the world sends a message that we needn’t submit to murder in victim disarmament zones. That’s why his actions are getting such short shrift from America’s press. It’s a story they are loathe to report because it affirms a philosophy of self-reliance that they despise.”
With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (http://www.ccrkba.org/) is one of the nation’s premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States.

Someone has replied to Golda Meir as follows: Peace will come when the Israelis love their own children more than they love peace (i.e., when the Israelis are willing to destroy their enemies.
#65: “As a practical matter, whom to you suggest exterminating? How do you decide who is an innocent resident of Gaza and who is a “Jihadi animal”?”
Not our responsibility, any more than the Allies had to personally steer every bomb headed towards Germany and Japan away from civilians. It’s the responsibility of the enemy who started this war.
Israel has a winning tactic that it has used before, but has avoided using recently, maddeningly. That is, repeated assassinations of the terrorists’ leadership, as in Sheik Ahmed Yassin and Abdel Aziz Rantisi. It’s time to kill the heads of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, PFLP, DFLP, Force 17, Tanzim, etc.
But the morons running the war - the politicians, I mean - are dropping leaflets warning of impending attacks, so the PA can bring their children as human shields, knowing - knowing! - that the Israelis are more “humane” than they.
I’m sick of Israel’s “humanity”, which is causing the death of its own citizens. Kill the enemy leadership, already! What are you waiting for?
There is only one solution, period.
Arm the residents of sderot and other communities most attacked with arab rockets. Give them the power and right to shoot back.
Let’s see how long the palistinian lunatics can stand random rocket attacks that can’t be directly linked to the IDF.
The time has come.
The next time terrorists openly and notoriously celebrate in the streets, drop a pair of 500 pound bombs onto the crowd. End of problem.
