Anecdotally, I've spoken with many elderly democrats who are strong in their support of Hillary, but will have a very bad taste if Obama becomes the candidate of their party.

These people are democrats from the FDR era, and would never vote republican.... until now.

There are a lot of people in that demographic, and they do vote! The dems better take notice, or they may shoot themselves in the foot.

Texas Tiger-it’s been a long time since I heard the name Jeff Gillooly. I also think he changed it to Paul Smith after he flew the jail bird coop.
This is what bothered me about Rush and Laura asking people to cross over and vote for Hillary to keep her in the race. <strong>I am afraid that herself and Obama will team up and be the gruesome twosome and I’m afraid that they will win.</strong></blockquote>

I honestly don't believe a Clint♂n/Oh!b♥m♥ ticket--in either permutation--is viable. Despite what their party hacks say, race and gender are vitally important to the rank and file. The dirty little secret the Democrats hold is that the presence of a black and a woman (both pro-Pali) on the same ticket will lead large components of several constituencies (e.g., union members, the elderly, Jewish voters) to cross over to McCain.

Have heart!

I still say, if Hillary gets "the House", she will have to issue all female staff personal TASERs. Billy Jeff on the loose with time on his hands...scary.

johnnycab23513, good illustration. Anyone standing between a Clinton and their target is in grave danger. Like standing between a 12 ga shotgun and it's target...you're toast...

Obama would be in a no win situation as a Clinton running mate no matter who tops the ticket. If it were Clinton/Obama, he would be the most useless man in the world as Billy Jeff would be in effect vice-president. After four years, he would be known as "Barack Who?". And if it were a Obama/Clinton win, he would not be able to buy life insurance at any price. He would be the only thing in her way to getting what she wants, and bad things happen to people who find themselves in that position.

Dennis Hastard's seat, in a Republican district, is being WON as we speak by a DEM. This does not look good, the republicans are not happy and not coming out to vote.

This is what bothered me about Rush and Laura asking people to cross over and vote for Hillary to keep her in the race. I am afraid that herself and Obama will team up and be the gruesome twosome and I'm afraid that they will win. However, we don't know how many dims crossed over to vote for McCain. TX & OH are not the only states with open primaries.
However, perhaps we deserve to lose. Bush has been no friend to conservatives in many ways and McCain it a true RINO. I don't know if our country can stand 4 years of dumb and dumber like it did during the Carter years. We were able to bounce back from that but that was a miserable time in our history-a time where I was glad I was an American, not really proud of it though-maybe big mouth MO is thinking about her teen years during the Carter administration.
Anyway, it's funny to see old Billy back on the trail again. Wonder what he'll say tomorrow as he continues to tour the Magnolia state.

Obama coattails? Barack endorsement is putting Bill Foster (D) over the top taking Denny Hassert's seat, IL-14

It looks like Barack Obama is proving just how significant his coattails will be in the general election. Barack endorsed Bill Foster (D) in the special election for Denny Hassert's congressional seat in IL-14 and it looks like this once safe Republican district is going to change hands.

Commercial that Foster ran featuring Barack Obama:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnaGlxUUFv4

With 79% of the precincts reporting tonight Foster leads Olberweis (R) 53% to 47%.

<blockquote>But Hillary is leading among the “Superdelegates”. What could be better than an Obama win in real delegates with Hillary ahead when the Superdelegates are counted?</blockquote>

Learning that Jeff Gillooly has hotel reservations in August for Denver?

The arrogance of the Clintons who are behind in delegates to suggest that Barack should be Hillbilly's VP is beyond galling.

How condescending.

I am eating this up by the <strike>spoon</strike> ladle-full!

As a Republican I find it both mesmerizing and hilarious that, like lemmings, some Democrats seem bound and determined to willingly allow the Clintons to direct them over the political cliffs - again!

Didn't these people learn anything about the Clinton family after the 1994 elections?

Isn’t it transparent to any of these Democrats that the Clintons are a self-serving, power hungry couple who (fortunately) were all too glad to throw their own party under the bus, in-order to remain in the White House and position our Hillary for a presidential bid?

But perhaps the real knee-slapper in all this Democrat mayhem is now that the Clintons are arrogantly demanding the support of not only the voters but the super-delegate members of the very party they threw under the bus – they just might get it!

Apparently Democrats can’t get enough of having the Clintons decimate their party on a continual basis.

Hillary-ous!
